“We booked & paid for valet parking, only to arrive very bad signage, however found it pushed the call button, only to be snappily asked WHO have you booked with? to which our response was "The Airport Direct on line car parking" NO WHICH COMPANY! sorry I booked on line at Edinburgh Airport car parking, then clicked on Valet! well its closed PAL! Sorry we have a booking & our registration is RRS1R I trust the camera system is working? WHAT is your booking reference, I gave this and the response was... REVERSE come around to the side of the multi-story car park, if the barrier is down push the button and it will open... I pushed the button and the voice said YES I explained to the gentleman, then the voice of the original gent shouted to him open the barrier its that valet guy! I drove up the ramp to find myself in the general car park! not at all what we had paid for. I then went to the office to get the express checking verification, to be snapped at again, this is simply not good customer service, I trust a full re-fund and apology will at some point follow?”
“Good value for the week I booked and paid £75.00 for. My flight was changed and I spent an extra 24 hours in the car park. I was unable to change my booking so the extra time cost me £50. While I understand the reason fir paying extra I felt it was disproportionate.”
Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Can I draw your attention to our Long Stay Express service. Details can be found on the Edinburgh Airport Website. Parking charge for a week is £39.99. I hope this information is of assistance to you.
“On returning to Edinburgh Airport, we were informed that due to traffic issues , we would have to walk to the long stay car park. Not acceptable with luggage !”
“Never again.
I booked to park my car on sat 8th Sept
Unfortunately my car broke down on the Friday 7th Sept when I called to cancel I was told I had to put it in writing via an email whilst trying to get the correct address I missed the the 24 hour cancellation policy notice by 40 mins and therefore my claim was nil and void .
So all in all in was my money down the drain and no good customer service on offer .”
“Parking its self was fine. The only problem was when they tried to get an extra £150 out of me to exit the car park, the fee having been paid in advance.”
“I am not very happy about using this service.
On Tuesday morning I took my ticket to enter the long stay premises. On Saturday morning I was asked to insert the same ticket again.
I was surprised when the machine asked me to pay about £15.. I thought booking online was cheaper, when in fact I pay more than double
I won't be using this service again.”
“Outbound was no problem. However on arriving back on Sunday afternoon, we had to wait 30-40mins on the shuttle bus to the long stay making us late back to our car from the time we had specified. The bus that did come didn’t have any space whatsoever for suitcases (don’t think it should even have been used for the shuttle service) so my wife (in early stages of pregnancy) and I had to sit with large 20kg cases plus hand luggage virtually on our laps. To get off the bus at our stop in the car park we had to literally trip over people and their cases who weren’t getting off to get off which also involved my wife lifting a 20kg suitcase over a woman and proceed to drop it on an elderly man when the bus driver started to drive off without realising there were still loads of us trying to get down the aisle to get off. My wife was significantly traumatised by the whole experience. Never using these services again.”
“Paid for parking for 4 days and when exiting was asked for £150. Spoke with attendant and only after giving the booking reference was I allowed to leave without paying the £150 which I did not owe anyway. Edinburgh Airport Parking, get you act together and stop trying to scam customers who have already paid for parking out of money they should not have to pay!!! PS. This is the third time this has happened.”
“Disappointed had to walk quite a distance from where I picked up keys I would have been better off parking in a disabled space. Then when I got to the barrier there was no ticket on dash had to speak to someone to get assistance who was rather rude. Won't be using the service again.”
“The Terminal Surface Parking area itself is OK, but pedestrian access from it to the terminal building and vice versa is absolutely dreadful. There are hardly any visible signs in either direction, but instead numerous walls and railings prevent the traveller heading for where they wish to go. You end up taking a very circuitous route with your luggage, and many people will still have to stop and ask someone the way. The layout has changed several times in the last few years, and nobody bothers to work out a long-term solution. Edinburgh Airport needs to make up its mind what layout it wishes to have, and then keep it that way out of consideration for its passengers. To sum up, an absolute nuisance. Much better to use one of the independent car parks which run a shuttle service straight to the terminal, dropping travellers where they actually need to go.”
“Took almost 2 hours to get out the car park (Sunday 9/9/18). No information on what the problem was. Whole car park was gridlocked. A lot of very angry drivers.”
“Yesterday afternoon the car park was totally shambolic, with cars backed up and no movement. There were no members of staff to either explain the cause of the problem or do anything to alieviate it.It appears there was some sort of event on nearby, but no provison made for the increase in traffic.Quite appalling.”
“I’ve this terminal surface parking quite often ... expensive compared to others but like not having to use shuttle buses when returning from holiday ... Sunday however was a complete joke... I was over 1 and a half hours before exiting car park... nobody did a thing for over an hour and just let taxis please themselves... cars going up and down one way roads the wrong way...don’t suppose anyone will reply to this so won’t waste anymore of my time”
“Shocking experience. Never again. Stuck in car park for one and a half hours due to volume of cars, taxis and mini buses also using the car park picking up and dropping off passengers. Took me two hours in total to get out of the airport. Tempers of drivers became frayed and very frustrated. I reversed out of my parking space and sat for half an hour having moved eight feet. Took another hour to move one hundred meters. Staff and police unhelpful giving priority to taxis letting those who paid seventy pounds and more to wait longer. Not worth the hassle. Never again. Be warned!!”
“I was appalled at the facilities and service at Edinburgh Airport Parking facilities where, together with hundreds of other vehicles, I was left stranded in a gridlock, unable to move for longer than SIX HOURS with zero communication or assistance from car parking staff (and having paid already to leave)”
