“Raving expensive. People parking all over the place as there aren’t enough parking spaces. Is this greed, a poor algorithm that can’t work out bookings v’s capacity. As this is a main hub for people travelling internationally from the Scottish capital, invariably people are coming from poorly served (public transport) parts of Scotland. So this ought to be priced accordingly - as a service. This is a tax on connectivity that leaves you with a bad taste in your mouth. Get a grip stop being so greedy and price your parking better. To give this context, I rent student accommodation cheaper than this!! except your parking spaces don’t have a microwave, a comfy bed or inclusive WiFi!”
“It is great in comparison to Glasgow Airport for the
Terminal car park ( Glasgow seem’s to be forcing
Everyone to Valet parking ) as you cannot book more than a week ….
BUT every time you try to exit the car park having
Pre paid you always have a prolonged hassle trying to get out the parking… as neither number plate recognisable cameras or your ticket will not work…. You have to contact an attendant and validate you have prepaid before they will let you
Out ….. terrible experience”
“Parking and booking at Edinburgh airport is very easy, however over the last few months of booking I never get a confirmation email, my bookings come and go on the app and when I arrive it is not recognising the car registration. The rectify it quickly but a pain each time you have to challenge the fee and wait until they confirm your booking.”
“If this was a review just about fast park it’d be 5 stars . Fast Park is excellent, easy to use and reasonably priced, in fact fairly priced. I just wish you would understand that public opinion is against you with regards the extortionate and unfair drop off / pick up charges. Please don’t use the excuse about wishing to encourage others to use public shared transport either, we know it’s to generate profit from a captive audience. Roads to enter car park are now pot holed.”
“Systems were down when we entered thr car park having pre paid. On coming out and into traffic carnage, I was presented with a charge of £280 odd pounds for parking. Got through the barrier without payment having used the intercom but didn’t need the stress of a massive log jam of cars behind me. Also, telhen had to drive back into the airport to pick up my wife and young kids, so got stung with another £6 for entering the drop off zone. We probably could have avoided that had we used a luggage trolley but they also were only available for a fee. Edinburgh airport charges are an absolute joke.”
“Finding the parking was easy. So was getting the bus. But upon existing the car park we put our ticket in the ticket machine and it said we had to pay £150. Not what you want when you are tying tk leave at 11 at night.
We pressed the button for help and the nice guy help us out and let us out with out charge.”
“The parking itself was fine. Found a spot okay and came back 10 days later, so that was that really.
However, long stay is a decent walk from the terminal. We waited for a bus for a while but none came, and disappointingly, we had to pay to use a luggage trolley.
If you pay a decent chunk of money to use the parking, I don't think you should pay for a luggage trolley on top.”
“The parking was booked 6 months in advance. On arrival the number plate recognition failed. I followed the instructions to use the buzzer to contact the control room. I advised i had a booking reference etc but was instructed to press and take a ticket and the recognition system should work on the way out. Alas it did not and the barrier suggested i owed £420 for service i had already paid for. I pressed the button and eventually the guy raised the barrier but the display said “refer to cashier” so what happens next?”
“Very easy to book last minute (train was cancelled). Quite expensive. Well signposted. Parking bays seemed small for my Vauxhall Insignia. Close to the terminal.
Problem arose on the exit. Barrier would not raise. Assistance was prompt, but it came as a shock to be told the tariff was £1,172. On confirming that I had indeed prebooked, albeit on the morning of the flight, the barrier lifted. This was an experience I did not need having spent hours travelling overnight.”
“Fine and handy for the airport terminal - a 5 minute walk.
However not the easiest to find when you’re driving in to the airport as it’s not well signposted.
We accidentally ended up having to go through the drop off and got charged £6 for the pleasure”
“The fastpark was very efficient, easy to find and easy to use from parking up and dropping off my keys to returning and collecting my keys. However when I came back to my car after my holiday I was shocked to find my main headlights running. I was very lucky with the fact that my car turns the headlights off after a certain period of time to conserve the battery, however older cars do not. This should have been carefully monitored.”
“Signage as to where to drive to get into the correct area for parking was fairly poor.
Was charged an extra seven pounds upon leaving, even when I was well within my time of booking. I can say it’s a lot better than some airports I’ve parked at, but can definitely be better (simplified directions, even after studying the map on your website it was still difficult to find the right entrance).”
“Very crowded carpark upon arrival and spaces ( the one we found right under a tree) was hemmed in by 2 4x4 either side so a very tight squeeze . Easy enough to find departures once finally parked in daylight .
Return …. Nightmare to find the car park 🅿️ n dark due to lack of signage . Even Marshall’s on other carparks were vague ! After dragging cases in the dark and 1am past roundabout and hotels eventually found the car ! Covered in tree sap n bird poo thanks to having to squeeze in the only availiable space .
Positives …. One which was the price for 10 days , easy access/exit barriers”
“The parking was very easy to find and there was lots of space. We had prepaid online (£90) however when we tried to leave we were asked to pay again (£275). We had to contact the operator of the carpark to be let out.”
“I'm a single parent with three kids, and the guy on the front gate keeps banging on about how I have to have everything out of the boot as fast as possible, so the next car can park close. Well sorry dude, I have to take my time because I have four cases to pull out and three children to supervise in an area full of cars. When I explain that I have these issues, the response should be 'that's absolutely fine' and not still pressure me to prioritise your process efficiency. I've had this pressure on my last two uses of the service, so mentioning. Apart from that, the service is good. Staff in the key drop-off area were friendly and helpful. I don't recall seeing anywhere to get a trolley, which would have been helpful.”
