Took 2 hours to get out the car park. Absolutely dreadful end to our holiday

We pre booked and paid for parking on the Terminal Surface car park from 30 th August until 6th September. On arrival there were no free spaces to park. People had parked in areas not designated for parking, something I was not willing to do. We eventually found a space after 20 minutes. On returning we went to the exit inserted our card and was promptly asked to pay £280.00. We contacted the office and the error was corrected. You managed to add by your performance a great deal of additional pressure to our traveling experience at Edinburgh. How can you sell parking spaces and then not have any available? Your ticketing system fails to perform satisfactory. In all you do not supply a good and satisfactory service. George booking reference 3860007

The system failed to recognise my number plate - even though I pre-purchased months ahead. I was forced to take a ticket. I hadn't realised this until my return when the ticket prompted an 'unpaid fees of £265' message - and the barrier failed to open. It was eventually sorted when I spoke to a very helpful operative, and I provided my transaction number - but not before causing major congestion and substantial delay to me exit at around midnight after a day's travel. Not a good experience.

The parking itself wasn't a problem, it was the 40 minutes it took to get out of the car park. 4 lanes into one, nolane discipline, not one Airport or Airport Parking employee onsite to explain or help. It would have actually taken me less time to drive home to Fife from Glasgow.

Pre booked terminal surface from 30th August to 6th September. Arrived on the 30 th the parking spaces were all full, it took over 20 minutes to find a space, lots of other users had parked outside designated areas, something we would be very loathe to do. On our return when I put our ticket into the exit barrier it requested a payment of £280.00 despite I had previously paid in advance. Therefore we had to reverse out of the exit area and go to the office where thankfully the attendant resolved the problem and we were able to exit the car park. Why do you sell parking space in advance and not have avail spaces? Secondly ensure your ticket system performs properly and that you don't demand payment to tired , exhausted and frustrated users. You seem able to add additional pressure to the travelling experience at Edinburgh Airport George booking ref 3860007

Yet again the automatic number plate recognition didn’t work, I was presented with a massive bill at the gate, then had to use the intercom to sort it out, with some rather displeased drivers behind me!

Could do with some better signage for Terminal Surface parking but having used it once wouldn’t hesitate to use again.

I paid extra to stay at the terminal parking but drove around for 15 minutes and could find no place to park in the end leaving it in a non designated bay, thankfully I did not get a ticket when I arrived back. On departure my ticket was not recognised as being prepaid so had to ring to get clearance which was stressful with cars behind me beeping me as I was blocking the entrance. Not happy!

Not sure if they could make the spaces any smaller if they tried. Charged an extra 10 quid when I left as I was half an hour over my time limit thanks to the Edinburgh airports quality baggage handlers. Can't say I'd be in a rush to use again

Terminal car park had no spaces last time I booked it for a week away. I hunted down people returning to their car after circling the car park in despair. It was fortunate I had left sufficient time to check in for my flight, but stressful nevertheless. After my last experience I opted this time for the long stay car park. There had clearly been a long spell with no shuttle to the car park resulting in an unpleasant riot as stressed out passengers fought to board the overcrowded bus. I may add that though our flight landed early we were at a domestic gate so we’re then transferred to international gate and passport control. This was overcrowded with no clear directions and the automatic check failed to work. Clearly Edinburgh airport lacks the infrastructure for the number of flights it has accepted. The passenger experience is therefore extremely poor and if I can avoid using Edinburgh Airport again I most certainly will. Finally, your airport is unique in that departure boards are behind passengers as they arrive rather than facing them. The baggage check is poorly organised and chaotic. Please pass on these more specific comments to whomsoever they concern.

Staff was very kind and they gave all correct information. They advised me to leave the ticket in the car and it was very useful.

The reason for my review is I booked the valet parking initially and a few days before this I received an email stating that due to unforeseen circumstances it was cancelled. I was then told I would have a full refund which I have not yet received so I emailed Flybe on Thursday the 24th and was sent back an email saying I would hear from someone in the next 24 hours, still no reply. So I booked the terminal parking instead which was fine until when I arrived back on my return flight and tried to exit the airport at the barrier it said I was due £130 so we had to wait at the barrier until the assistant confirmed my booking and let us out. I still have not had a refund and do not know where to go from here perhaps the person who reads this complaint can help me.

After waiting 30 minutes for the bus to take me from airport to car park on Sunday afternoon at around 15.15 hours I decided to walk!! Obviously a problem with drivers/bus but a disgrace for an international airport!

Disgraceful. Extortionate... but you knew that. Best stop emailing if you continue to rip people off. Charlatans.

our vehicle had an engine management fault on the dashboard when we returned to the car park, when I asked a member of staff about waiting for breakdown assistance he was totally disinterested and would not listen to my request and concerns about overstaying our booking. he simply stated that it was expensive to overstay. We decided to move the vehicle outside the car park to wait for assistance, when we left and put the booking card in the machine it tried to charge us £140, even though we had pre paid, then the guy on the intercom was next to useless when we said we had pre paid and quoted our ref number, he got the number wrong. he did manage to lift the barrier to allow us to leave. The place is being run by incompetent clowns with zero customer service skills.

Coach ride from car park to terminal was 30 minutes so I walked it in 7. Good job as on my return at 23.30, no signs for Parking Express or bus so found my way back by foot in the dark Express?

Parking car was a bit tricky, my first time and a bit confused, photo of enterance on your website may help. Staff in the carpark were very friendly and helpful. But on, going on the bus, on return I whacked my head on the crossbar, where you place the suitcases. Really hurt myself and was concerned about concussion and being able to drive up to Aberdeen. You had placed a piece of foam insulation on the crossbar but no hi vis tape. Best take the crossbar away all together. I spoke to the driver and he was helpful and offered to get a first aider. I do not think I was the first to be injured. Brian Crossan

I'm afraid your pre-booking advertised prices are very misleading 21 day stay £97.99 versus actual price quote of £129.99... Very dishonest .
