“Parking was great. But airport was terrible. On our return there were 3 desks checking passports for 4 flights. Took ages to get through. There was a sign saying it will be sped up doon by a fast track... which is basically a paid service to jump the queue, while the normal queue will then go slower due to the priority line. Then the belt for luggage was broken....as all 4 flights of people waited. Useless service and forthcoming "improvements" will make it worse.”
“Tried to book usual short term parking, website useless. Phoned and got helpful guy who said parking changed , no notice. Why did website not say 'full' then we would all know what we were doing which Edinburgh Airport obviously do not.”
“BOOKING REFERENCE EDI-EXT-3092060 ON ARRIVAL AT THE MULTI-STOREY CARPARK I WAS REFUSED ACCESS AS THE CAR PARKING AREA WAS FULL.
THIS WAS FARCICAL AS THE BOOKING HAD BEEN MADE WEEKS IN ADVANCE.
THE STAFF ADVISED ME TO JUST DRIVE AROUND THE SURFACE CARPARK UNTIL I FOUND A SPACE THAT TOOK 20 MIN. OR GO TO THE LONG STAY AREA.
THIS LEFT ME FEELING TOTALLY ABANDONED AS A SPACE SHOULD HAVE BEEN AVAILABLE IN-LINE WITH MY BOOKING

“I returned from a business trip to Krakow last night at 2200 hours. I had previously booked my car into the multi- storey complex at the airport ( Reference number EDI - TBHP - 3122770) at 1220 hours on the 2nd of August 2016, using car ST63 EHY. I subsequently changed the car I was using for the trip to SP66 NJF using your on line booking management system. When I arrived at the airport on the 5th of September I noticed that I was not welcomed with the usual "welcome Ray Moodie" but instead merely was presented with an card at the barrier. Luckily I kept the original receipt and reference number with me as on my return at the exit barrier, the screen indicated I owed £135. I called your operator who initially said ( after I quoted my reference number) that there was not record of the change. I would add it was raining heavily, I was out of the car as I couldn't here your operative properly, and he was to put it mildly very uncooperative. Eventually, and somewhat reluctantly he raised the barrier. I am a regular business traveller and I often use your car parks. This experience has really put me off. The last thing one wants when one returns from a hard business trip is to be confronted by an experience such as this. I would ask you respectfully to examine your procedures and indicate to me why this occurred, offer me suitable compensation for the anxiety and inconvenience you caused me, and carry out any necessary changes to ensure that this does not happen to other customers.”
“I have used various parking areas at Edinburgh airport over a number of years. On the most recent occasion I used the long term parking. However, I found the distance to walk to and from the terminal at the courtesy bus stop to be unacceptable. Also the signage is very poor particularly when returning from the terminal to find the bus stop.
I will definitely never use this parking area again and also find the general level of charges excessive.
If I was offered a choice of other departure airports then I would not use Edinburgh.”
“I parked in the Mid teem car park, I was flying out of Edinburgh on an early flight and was due to return later that day, my BA flight was delayed which meant I was 20 mins later that agreed, I was charged £30, the original fee for the day was £30, this is just not acceptable practice!”
“Edinburgh Airport have asked me to write a review of their parking - I didn't use their parking after finding a local park (NCP) at less than half their cheapest price. The airport wanted to charge me £28.99 minimum for a single day. I chose to cancel my booking and change to NCP, who are close and run a convenient shuttle to the airport. When driving into the airport I noticed multiple vehicles parked illegally along the main road and wondered what was going on - these drivers were pulled up awaiting flights to arrive so that they didn't have to pay the exorbitant pick-up charge. My opinion of Edinburgh Airport is that their greed is causing hazards in the area and they should be forced to provide a cheap or free pick up and drop off (as does Glasgow) and reduce its overall parking fees.”
“I am disappointed that I ended up paying twice for the parking. Once online then again when I arrived rather than the barrier opening automatically as advertised I was given a ticket and paid again when I left later that night.
Can you check this out and reimburse one of the payments to me?
Thank you”
“We have used your car park for years and never had any problems. We booked as usual (Ref PP-LSSD-3110043) but last night when trying to exit the barrier didn't open and the machine asked for £140! After much discussion over the intercom we eventually managed to get the barrier up! We were tired after our journey and quite upset as it seemed at first we had gone to the wrong car park!
I am not sure if we will return?
Regards
Chris Lumb”
“Arrived last Tuesday morning at 5.30am to find half the car park entrances closed. After gaining access to the car park, not by automatic number plate recognition as promised, getting parked possibly further away than the long stay parking options at that time of the morning was also disappointing. Coming back to collect my car yesterday resulted in being told my bill was £230 despite being paying a fixed rate in advance. Although this was sorted via the intercom option at the barrier I felt like I was being accused rather than being correct. After giving my reference over twice the barrier was opened without any hint of an apology. All in the experience was disappointing and a shambles!!”
“Fairly straight forward. - only confusion was that the ticket inferred you stil had to pay. Should say ticket requires to be validated even if pre paid.”
“It's very frustrating using this site. The sensible way to the website should work is you should be able to register and then register your car(s). Then, when you want to park again you can just lecelt you vehicle. How many people remember the number of their vehice(s). Secondly and more importantly. The last two times I used it, I was charged again. The number plate reconginition obvioulsy does not work reliably. So never using you guys again. Uselless!”
“I can't login to manage bookings without a reference number. There is no customer login that takes you to your bookings via your e-mail address. The site is terrible to navigate. I use this parking every week but I have to put all of my details in every time I make a booking! Very poor.”
“Parked the car for 15 minutes and paid £12.50. Rip-off. Seriously? You can justify that charge? I mean tariffs beginning 0-3 hours. You can't break that down into 1 hourly rates? You are running a scam and you are no better than street fraudsters.”
“I pre-paid for business valet parking, when i arrived there was noone to meet me at the fast track bridge, as per your instructions, i waited for 10 mins and then searched for a space, none to be found on the 2nd floor. I was under time pressure as i believed i would not be more than a few minutes to drop my car and get my flight, i felt my only option was to abandon my car in one of the green spaces marked for business valet. I didnt go via the fast track bridge, instead went downstairs to the Business valet parking booth, which was empty. On my return at the exit of multistorey car park my prepaid ticket was rejected and i was told to pay an extra £135 as i was over my time, which i was NOT..I then had to abandon my car at the exit and run to the parking kiosk at the lifts, annoyingly not easily accessible. My ticket was checked and confirmed i had paid and was let out...by this time i was 30 mins late for an existing appointment..A thorough disaster...”
