“The carpark looks like downtown Kharkiv, worn out / missing paint markings, potholes, crappy partial plastic pedestrian barriers, millions of nonsensical and contradictory exit signs, signs telling me to park at the far end away from the airport despite loads of spaces near the terminal, what an embarrassment for our capital city! The system also didn't detect my car properly on exit, so after inserting the ticket I was going to be charged £176! Luckily the man who answered when I pressed for assistance quickly let me out as I had prepaid.”
“Two stars and not one because I didn’t have to pay in the end, but after having had the stress from the threat of being forced to pay £935 upon return from Australia and three flights, for the parking I had prepaid for, I wasn’t left overly impressed. Having arrived to find the long term parking full and being directed to the terminal parking for my 28 days stay, I suggest Edinburgh airport find a way to link up their booking and parking systems to avoid looking quite so amateurish in future”
“Booked terminal parking in advance. My registration number was not recognised, so I was asked to pay again on exit. It took over 10 minutes to get through to speak to someone to get it sorted out.
A failure with the technology, and a failure in putting enough staff on to sort things out. Very unlikely to use again, and I won't recommend, especially at the high cost.”
“Instructions to enter car park clear and no issues.
Concern when attempting to exit car park that although having been pre-paid, an outstanding balance of £154 was to be paid.
Pressed for assistance button, eventually someone abruptly answered. I explained the issue and was asked to read out my booking reference, as soon as I did the barrier was raised to allow me to exit. Whilst this only lasted for a couple of minutes, very disappointing not to be told what the issue wa, or an apology for the delay.”
“Book here very often, prices are reasonable especially as this was a last minute booking however on this occasion I overstayed my booking by approximately 40 minutes due to a severe flight delay and upon exit the payment terminal requested a £140 payment. Hopefully this was a glitch and not a genuine penalty you would normally charge customers as it's an absolutely obscene amount for a 40 min overstay. The booking itself only cost £60.
The staff member I spoke with did help in getting it resolved quickly to get me on my way.”
“It was very good in terms of booking and fast track. However I was stung for a £15 additional charge as the baggage unload took an hour. Flight landed on time. I thought the additional charge was mean and not in my control.”
“Long walk to car. When leaving it said we owed almost £200 when we had prepaid but quick talk to staff sorted it out. Shame I didn't see shuttle buses after a transatlantic flight.”
“Parking experience should have been better, no shuttle bus service is a step backwards and not reflected in the price. We got wet on our return when we had to walk from the terminal to the car park in the rain.
This and the airport in general will make me think about using Edinburgh Airport again, the whole experience was poor.”
“Claim to be every 10 mins. On arrival we had to wait longer than that whilst watching the driver from a distance chatting to I presume a colleague. When we returned and were waiting for collection at airport the wait was 25 minutes. We had actually started walking as there was no sign of bus. Driver apologised but when you've a tired 8 year old you just want to get to your car asap.”
“Charged an extra £15 due to a delayed flight making us 2 hours later - not amused- you had the flight number so should have known it was not our fault!
Also on entry- the electronic system re numbers of spaces available was incorrect on 3 different floors!”
“Booked valet parking. The way it works is actually more effort and hassle than parking in the nearby car park. Booked it for three cars and each said it was t the best if systems.”
“Well I had a very bad experience came back last Monday to find my range rover damaged I couldn't believe it out all the parking spaces why the he'll dud hecpark next to me unbelievable the police where helpful you need to leave more space in between the bays.”
“I genuinely stupidly booked the wrong day of return 1 day short & was charged an additional £40 when the original charge for 5 days was £45, so the extra £40 is just ridiculous. I am booked again this weekend and have checked the dates but doubt if I will return again.”
“I booked to leave a vehicle for my wife to pick up from Plane Parking. I only found out I needed the flight number after I had reserved the space and paid for it. She only needed to pick it up. The form asked for the outgoing flight number and for some reason wouldn’t allow me to enter the return flight number. When they arrived at the airport they couldn’t find the courtesy bus and had to trek from the terminal building to the car park which is a considerable distance. My wife suffers from tachycardia and this was not an ideal situation given the flight arrived delayed at 03:15. I am very disappointed”
“Great place to park but disgusted at the price for one week stay ..I usually pay no more than £65 for the week this time I had to pay £159 ... daylight robbery”
“Unfortunately. my recent experience was not good. Having pre-booked long stay car parking I arrived in the car park to find that it was extremely full and following a sign to "Spaces' led me to a dead-end with no spaces available. There was no parking personnel available to guide customers to spaces and after driving around lane after lane for 20 minutes, I eventually found a location I could park against a fence (not a marked parking bay). Cars were being abandoned on pavements at bus stops and at the end of lanes. If buses were in operation it would have been difficult for them to turn in most locations.
For the fees applied, there should be personnel available to guide you to safe available parking spaces. Also if forcing customers to walk from the far end of the long-stay car park to the terminal, then there should be covered walkways due to unpredictable Scottish weather.”
“I am still at a loss as to why pick up and drop off is charged . I travel regularly and no other airport does so . Parking was expensive but worked. Can’t say I am gushing over a parking review though.”
