“Arrived on 15th June to it took me 20 mins to find a space in Terminal parking , only because someone left.Had to extend my 11 day stay for 1 night due to illness and it cost me as much for 1 night as it did for my original 11 .I’m afraid might have to look elsewhere next time.”
“booked in advance on line. The automated barriers worked well. The quality of the walkways to and from the Long stay facility, just past the taxi ranks is sub standard. with the price charged per day /hour temporary barriers, very rough surfaces and of course many of the lower areas filled with water is not what you expect. Edinburgh airport charge a lot of money for every service like drop off and pick up so yiou would expect better. The signage showing the way was poor as was the lighting.”
“The parking activity was good, but the clunky booking interface is not quite up to the task. On pre-booking I inserted appropriate dates and times for the duration, allowing for over-run if my return flight was late. I booked parking from 11:30 on departure day, until 19:30 on return day and was quoted a price of £61.99 for the mid-stay car park. Before making payment, I back-paged to review my booking and noted the return time had re-set to 11:30. So I re-set that return time to 19:30 and proceeded to pay. Having been shocked to pay an excess charge of £50 (!!) on exit (circa 18:30 hours, I should advise you that it appears your booking hours are designed to re-set to complete periods of 24 hours. However, this is not explicit as there is no simultaneous review of the booking details on the payment page which seems unfair and worthy of investigation by the Consumer Protection Authority.”
“Was very surprised and disappointed to find on return that was charged additional for a delayed flight out with my control. I travel regularly for work and leisure and usually use Glasgow airport who make an allowance for delayed flight issues
I had included my flight no so that was really poor from my point of view”
“Confusing directions. It cost me money to get out out short term car park which I had literally driven through. Unlike other airport car parks it dies not give 24 hour period so when slightly delayed return - caused partly by slow service in airport it cost me 12 to leave. Do on top of the £70 almost £80 I was charged it cost me a further 16 quid. So such problems at other airports would not recommend”
“Long stay car park at Edinburgh airport post-'covid' has definitely gone downhill in the last 2 years...
No shuttle bus which requires a 10-20 minute walk to the terminal building depending on what area of the car park you manage to find a space, which is usually the furthest away point! If it's raining then you'll definitely need an umbrella...or change of clothes!
There also doesn't appear to be any parking etiquette, with numerous cars parked on kerbs, double yellow lines, and in zones clearly marked for pedestrians.”
“Car park was easy enough to find. On return our flight was delayed by several hours so our car parking had expired. Upon leaving car park we were charged £18 to get out. Person on intercom was most unhelpful and quite frankly rude, apparently its the airlines problem, hardly a customers fault if flights are delayed, not the best end to a break away, made more irritating by unhelpful staff!!”
“Had booked many months ago getting a good price. However flight changes meant I needed to extend parking by 2 hours. I had bought parking that was advertised as being free to amend. Not the case! Told I needed to cancel booking and start again meaning parking much more expensive. On return to the car I was told I would as due£150 in fees! However on questioning this it was waived. Not a great experience overall. If you advertise that booking are free to amend they should be. As I only needed a short extension my rate would actually not have increased”
“Nightmare to find a space. When you do, the space is tiny, so much that I returned from holiday to find my car damaged by another car's door. Gonna cost a small fortune to repair.
Won't be using this car park again”
“Entering and exit procedures pretty good but the drivers used to move/park cars clearly take liberties driving your car. Our spoiler had been enabled when there was no reason for it to be.”
“Terrible experience!!! My flight got delayed, and I tried contacting the helpdesk, but nobody replied. I ended up paying more for 5 hours due to my delay than the four days pre-booked.”
“The car park was a bit shambolic due to ongoing works. There were cars haphazardly parked outwith spaces. We had to wander about to find the temporary walking path as there were no direction signs; this may be particularly difficult in the dark. Didn't seem to be any staff around if you require assistance.”
“Very disappointed. I had booked parking and paid £49.99 for 4 days + 16hrs. I made sure to add extra hours in case of delays, giving myself an extra 7 hours as buffer. My flight from Dallas - London was delayed by about 12 hours and I missed my connection to Edinburgh. I ended up leaving the airport at about 10 am which meant I had 11 hours of extra parking. For this, I was charged £30. Given that I was already out of pocket for the delay, not to mention the complications with missed appointments, this £30 was adding insult to injury.”
“The parking experience was fine and staff were helpful but my car was left unlocked and not secure. Also the metal plate on my accelerator pedal had been broken off when I returned.”
“Everything was good until leaving the car park after 1pm to be faced with a charge of over £460 at the barrier. Then had to dig out my order number from luggage to give to the attendant over intercom, only to be told everything ok and barrier opened..??”
“Parking was ok but for the third time I was delayed exiting the car park because I had to call for assistance at the barrier because the booking wasn’t recognised. Very inconvenient!”
“The parking, in multistorey, was fine but having been delayed by a few hours I was unimpressed to be charged £15 on exit (without offer of a receipt). An exorbitant charge for a marginal extension in parking over which I had no control.”
