“Easy to access but there were no clear and obvious signs to find my way out of the car park and towards the terminal when it was dark. I was also delayed at the gate on exit as despite having pre paid for my ticket the machine tried to charge me more, so I had to call the attendant. I saw another car next to me had the same issue.”
“Tried to charge me again when leaving late at night took a long time to answer the call button not good after you want to get home after a long time travelling”
“Parking was fine, the problem was in departure from the multi story car park. Firstly the machine incorrectly tried to charge me despite being prepaid. This was dealt with efficiently by the staff. There then appeared to be an issue with other the exit barriers, one was closed and the remaining two seemed to be not working well. Not sure if it was an issue with them or the people trying to use them but it did delay the exit quite some time.”
“On exiting and putting in our ticket we were shown a charge of £360 although we had booked in advance. This was sorted out when we pressed the ‘speak’ button but was worrying for us and shouldn’t have happened.”
“The led signs at each level of the multi storey should show the number of available spaces at that level but are wildly wrong. Also, upon exiting the car park the screen told me I had to pay an additional £360 !!! Even though I had prebooked and paid. The operator, contacted via the assistance button quickly explained there was problems with the system and opened the barrier but I dread to think what would have happened if I had a dodgy heart.”
“All went well until we tried to leave the barrier would not rise as the machine did not recognise our ticket. Eventually the call button was answered and the barrier was raised. This has happened twice in the last three times I have used the car park
Very annoying”
“I used the multi storey option with fast track through security. Booked and paid in advance. On the way out everything was fine.
When I got back to Edinburgh after a few days, I asked the parking assistant at the desk how the check-out worked. He told me I didn’t need my ticket or credit card and that a registration plate recognition system was in place.
That didn’t work for me or the guy in the car beside me also trying to exit. Stressful wait at the barrier as the queue of cars behind starts to build while we waited for someone to provide assistance.
When eventually the assistant responded to the call, he instructed me to put parking ticket in machine which showed I owed about £200, then I had to give him registration number of the car, then he opened the barrier manually.
Not a great experience. It needs to be clearer on website how the process works and what you bro we do /don’t need to supply”
“Disappointed on our return and on exiting the car park we were delayed, the machine saying we owed £270!! we had prepaid prior to parking, we then had to wait to speak to someone who let us out with no explanation of the error.”
“Hi, on Saturday I selected and paid for the £24.99 parking at terminal option (foot of the tower), however when leaving the correct area that evening, the barrier said £30.00. When I called the operator the attendant informed me I parked in the wrong section. I checked the car park map and he was incorrect. He said he “would let me off this time”. It would be good for the operators to be aware of the sections per cost option to prevent this happening again.”
“Booking process is easy, car park is good and managed to get a good spot.
Trying to leave the car park was difficult. Card stated we owed over £200 and had to buzz the bell to get someone to help”
“Wasn’t such a good experience this time! On exiting machine said had £405 outstanding to pay!!! Was prepaid parking so had nothing to pay. Several other people seemed to be having same issue. Unfortunate as not experienced this issue previously but at 10.30pm at night not what was needed!!!”
“The Fast Track system was included inbthebprice of the parking fee. I thought that this was reasonable and on theboutward leg of thebjiurney saved a good deal of time getting through security. The staff were helpful and polite. This was an early morning trip, so there were staff available, where the system failed was our delayed late evening return flight, No indication as to whether the fast track system applied then too(It should) no personnel on site to guide staff as to where to go and rude border agency staff who disn't know if the facility was available at night or not. Suffice to say that we queued like everyone else to get through an under staffed borders agency checkpoint ( it was after midnight by this point) Training needs identified, better instuctions on your initial email as to what to do and what you are entitled to. Better signage with clear directions as to where to go, better liaison with Uk borders agency on this for their staff training.
The exit was a farce however, my ticket declined me exit saying I owed £180 when it should reall have just opened the barrier. If it wasn't for the booking reference being accepeted by the assistance calll line I would have beeen seriously out of pocket for something already paid for. Late night access to the fast track bridge was also closed because the airport had no departures at that time and access to the upper floors was denied by barriers....”
“I regularly use the mid stay car park - it's very convenient and well priced - however, there have been several occasions where I've had to ring the attendant at the barrier because it's asking me to pay before I exit, despite having already pre-paid. Not a major issue, just inconvenient.”
“After parking there didn't seem to be any designated walk ways or signage across the car park to the terminal. On the way back to collect the car we got lost and walked on the road as there was nothing pointing us in the direction of the mid stay car park. I had prepaid online for parking and on arrival we took the ticket however on departure it said we owed £240. This was quite a shock. We pressed for assistance and the gentleman was helpful and sorted out the barrier so we could exit. Also the roads and paths were rough resulting in our suitcase wheels breaking!”
“The pre-booking exit system does not work! I had to contact the office at the exit( as did other people) because it said I had not paid. Far from the “just turn up” system promised . It’s not that big a deal but you asked”
“On inserting ticket on exit was told I was due £155 after a 3 day stay which I had already paid £45 for! Pressed help button and operator sorted.
£45 still a bit pricey for 3 days!”
“All good except that the bar didn't lift automatically when I arrived. I had to push the button and get a ticket. On my way out, when I put the ticket in the machine it asked me to pay £95, despite me having prepaid online. Thankfully, someone picked up on the customer support button and took care of it.”
“Parking was fine .. problem was I inadvertently double booked and paid and have hit a brick wall both at airport talking to a human and in e mail response.. to find out if I can have a refund for 1 booking fee”
“Expensive for what it is, and not true "valet parking". You park up, go to building with self serve machines to check in but the staff member on entry to the car park didn't tell us to make a note of the row you parked in so we had to go back and check before we could leave our key. We were pushed for time and the machines ran out of receipt paper (so you can collect your car at tbe end) so had to wait on someone changing it. On exit, barrier didnt recognise our car, called for help, they told us just to take a ticket, got to 2nd barrier to exit airport and it tried to charge us £5, had to call for help again till they looked up our details and let us out. Branded as Fast Park but still took a while to sort compared to other valet services I've used at other airports.”
