“It was convenient to airport terminal - just a short distance to walk.
However when we arrived we had to drive round and round as we could not find anywhere to park. Eventually we spotted someone going to their car and got their space.
Not a relaxing start to our holiday.
Just after we entered the park the "full" sign went up and cars were being directed elsewhere but this did not help us.”
“Multi storey near terminal building however what isn't good is the access gate, it's confusing and and not well signed when you arrive which gate you are supposed to drive through. In addition the number plate technology didn't work and I had to get another ticket from the office on my return.”
“We booked the mid stay car park 2-3 days before travel, arrived on the day to find the car park was so full that people were illegally parked all over it!
That being said, I went to the exit barrier and pressed the intercom button and the man I spoke to told me to go to the terminal surface and just present both tickets on exit.
We did this on the way home and there was no problems so in the end turned out to work in our favour!”
“On return after the flight delay I was informed I had additional charges. The process took a long time and my wife was waiting be the car in a wheelchair. The reason for the delay was an error by your staff. Disappointed by the extraneous delay”
“I wasn't very happy the other morning when I turned up to find construction work taking place and hardly a parking place in the car park. I spent around 15 mins driving round trying to find a space and although I had left plenty of time before my flight you never know how long the queues are at security so it all felt a bit rushed after that. Not my usual experience of the long stay car park. You can normally drive in and find a parking space within a reasonable period of time, but not this week.”
“Dear Sir/Madam. I use Edinburgh airport regularly but have become disillusioned with it. Whilst the airport has increased in volume the services have not. Particularly the passport area, which in the first place is too far away (particularly if you are on returning from a holiday) and secondly the number of officers there. Yes you have automated passport control systems but more than often they don't work resulting delays and confusion. As a follow-up the person is directed to a passport officer in front of a queue, which is not the best way to amuse people already in the queue. Otherwise I still like Edinburgh airport and hope you can solve these problems soon.”
“It didn't entirely make me happy. On arrival on 14th May I was told to park in the Mid-stay card park instead of Long Stay which I had booked. I did as instructed and all was well. When I returned very late on 21st May I went to mid-stay to collect my car and headed for the exit whereupon I discovered when I put my ticket in the machine I owed £240. A shock! I pressed the button and spoke to a member of staff who told me my booking had not been altered as it should have been on arrival. He was most helpful and validated my ticket and allowed me to leave. I was not alone in being diverted to Mid-stay on the 14th so I assume other customers had a similar experience. In the past I have found parking there a seamless experience.”
“I parked at the mid stay car park last week-end, and I have no complaints; I found a space easily. However, I find the price expensive, and invariably shop around with other operators, before deciding on which car park.”
“The mid stay is fairly expensive and a good reasonable walk from the eastmost terminal entrance.
The route is not straightforward especially if using a buggy or large suitcase. It is not covered but is reasonably lit.
There were no luggage trolleys available in the car park.
The car spaces are of reasonable size. Entry and exit was easy.”
“service was okay but as I had already booked in advance with my reg number I expected a slicker service. When I entered the car park I was given a ticket which I then had to use to leave the car park. I've not had to do this before in similar situations.
Why can't this just all be automatic based on reg number?”
