“Having paid the airport parking in advance for my weeks holiday,I arrived back and inserted the ticket and was astonished to see that I was being charged £314.60 extra !!! Having used the intercom and stated my registration number and after discussion at least I was eventually let out with no additional payment to be made.”
“There must be a review of additional charges if flights are delayed or long queues in passport control or luggage delays. Passengers have no control or influence over these factors yet are penalised with exorbitant additional charges. My example £60 charge for 1 hour delay which I cannot influence. I accept additional charge but not extortion! My flight arrived at 0100 hours not peak parking time with no queues for parking. This must be reviewed urgently”
“This was my 4th time this year booking parking at the terminal, I fully appreciate it’s a busy time of the year, I couldn’t find any parking spaces and had to more or less double park. There was no spaces. I can’t understand why you can still advertise availability when it was full.”
“The long stay car park was quite a stressful experience as it had clearly been overbooked. There were cars double parked along the road parts and there were very few spaces available and the spaces themselves are very tight. It is also not well lit so as a solo female traveller arriving back in the dark, it was quite nervewracking”

“Car park was jammed busy and signs showing extra spaces were poorly marked. Took several times going round to spot the small marker showing extra spaces. When exiting after returning, our pre paid ticket showed that we were to pay £150 !! Pressed the call button and got a very grumpy answer and just raises the barrier. Very poor all round .”
“They take your car to a separate car park 2 miles away use all your fuel then email saying your cars broken down and need to sort recovery when they’ve used all your fuel. When arrived the attendants know they used your fuel as they say it’s not broken needs fuel. They said in terms and conditions says they can take it away to park 2 miles away which it does not and the car park is not secure.”

“The long stay carpark was full when we arrived and we wasted time trying to find a parking space. Surely it would make sense to advise drivers where spaces are available by either signs or stall. I would imagine you have CCTV to monitor the car park.”

This was the worst parking experience that we have had at any airport and it is likely to be the last time we will use Edinburgh Airport Parking again. The fact that there was no shuttle bus contributed significantly to our experience. The signage from the parking area to the terminal was nonexistent and if it was not for a young man who knew the way we were stuck inside the barrier fence. We are in our mid 70s and did not find the pedestrian route easy there or on our return from the terminal. The route from where we would normally get the shuttle bus took us through the rental car park out onto the busy main road and then across the tram tracks to the exit gate of the carpark this was extremely dangerous with no pavement to walk on. On leaving the car park we inserted our ticket and were told that we were facing a charge of £176 clearly the car was not identified on entering as it should have been which resulted in having to call the operator who correctly identified that we had paid on booking,Altogether this was a terrible experience for an elderly couple and one we will hope to never experience again.

“Do not use the Long Stay car park there are now no shuttle buses running between the Terminal and the Long Stay car park. The walking route that they say exists is none existent you need to drag your cases along the car park road speed bumps and all.”
“Booked the long stay carpark and surprised when I arrived that there are no shuttle buses. You now have to walk through the car parks with your suitcases which takes about 15 to 20 minutes. Yet you still have to pay the same price. Do not book and choose a different car park.”

“I booked my long stay car park ticket several months prior to my flight. I thought that the price was good value but service was poor. About 2 months ago I altered the car details as I had sold my vehicle. On the day of travel to the airport, I followed the sat nav reference as stated on the webpage, with out warning I entered the wrong car park. On entering the car park I was told my booking reference was not valid for my car, as it still stated my old car. This was not true as I had taken a photo of the amended details prior to setting off. On return from vacation, car exit said I owed a huge car park charge, after nearly travelling for 20hours, last thing I wanted to do was to search for car park booking details and re explain that the car details had changed which i had to do leave car park. All communications with staff indicated that it was my errors even though the details I had were correct.”
“I would never recommend or use this car park again. Buses were not as frequent as advertised. We ended up having to walk to the airport in the dark with our luggage.
Same applied to journey home. Ended up having to walk and saw other passengers having to do the sand. Really poor”
