“On picking up our car and going through barriers,we came to the last barrier and it wouldn’t let us through! We had to pay £4.00 to get out! So did our friends in their car! We had already prepaid parking fee for 1week and we were not late back! Why?”
“Terrible signposting for how to walk to the terminal, ended up walking back along the main road and down to the airport. Clearer in the return from terminal to car park. Not sure why the bus was removed as that worked perfectly well.”
“The parking was fine but the stay ended up costing much more than expected. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to extend our stay by a day. I tried to find some way to extend the booking but there was no way that was clear on the website. I tried to book an extra day but was asked to pay the same that I had already paid for a full week. I tried to use the chat function but no one could respond as it was the weekend. Thus when I got back I had to pay £40 at the machine, which was more than I had already paid for a full 8 days of parking...”
“I paid £36.99 for two days parking, and unfortunately my train broke down (on way to airport) in Belgium so I had to rebook my flight for the following day so I was 18 hours over my return time. I appreciate that this is not Edinburgh Airports fault, but what I don’t appreciate is being charged a further £40, which is grossly excessive.”
“For the first time since the pandemic started, I needed to park at Edinburgh Airport for 2 days. In the past, I'd used the long-stay parking area and used the shuttle bus. Great service.
When I went to pre-book the parking this time, I was met with a confusing choice of options. I tried looking at maps but it was unclear to me where the parking areas are located. The directions for Plane Parking looked familiar. I assumed the long stay parking area had been re-named in the new layout. So I booked Plane Parking.
We arrived, drove into the usual (long stay) parking and were surprised no bus service !! On return 2 days later we were charged £95 at the barrier. I was sure that was wrong and pressed for Assisstance. We were told we had come to the wrong car park! I couldn't understand it. Fortunately, the Adviser let us through but I feel this must happen to a lot of people.
On arriving home I checked my ticket and booking information and realised Plane Parking is a different area. It took me at least 45 mins to find out where it is located !
If you look at the directions you have given on the Edinburgh Airport web page, you will see how easy it is to enter the wrong car park unless you are a regular traveller. Please change the directions clearly stating that the driver must go past the entry to Long Stay Parking and continue along the road to Plane Parking. I admit that I still find it difficult to envisage where it is though !!”
“The only reason I use this carpark is for the shuttle service and it's no longer in use but still advertising as every 12 min with the weather in Scotland why would anyone choose the furthest carpark and then only realise when they drive up to the barrier and read the sign no bus available. Really I would like a refund I drove in and straight back out. False advertising that is.”

“Didn’t apply my prebooking against my registration. Meaning on leaving it demanded additional £95. This causes embarrassment whilst being stuck at the barrier for several minutes waiting on support. This is the second time this has happened to me.”
“Absolutely shocking. I booked as it stated shuttle bus as I gave troubling walking.we had to get a taxi at no time were we told there was no shuttle running till a little sign was pointed out to us. I want a refund for the taxi,misselling ,I was Absolutely furious and would others to give this company a wide birth. Money for Absolutely doing nothing.”
“Paid for parking with bus transfer, arrived to discover no busses were running. My wife 2 kids and I had to walk from the long stay car park to the terminal with 2 large cases in the early hours. Upon our return, we were then charged £176 for parking that had been pre-paid. This again caused more unnecessary stress to my family to resolve in a long argument explaining the situation to an operator over the parking intercom. Overall a very disappointing experience.”
“The signposting is very poor as are the directions in the confirmation email. Neither myself nor my passenger were able to find the correct long stay carpark and consequently had to pay almost £200 in car parking charges for a 4 day trip (£49.95 pre booking and £155 for being in the wrong car park). This is the second time that this has happened to me at Edinburgh Airport. Needless to say I will be looking to use an alternative airport in future.”
“This booking was made when I corrected my email address when prompted and hit 'book'. I booked 28 Aug thru 4 Sept (one week) and was charged the 54.99 pounds accordingly. Your site automatically entered the 2 Aug(the day after I made the booking) thru 8 Aug on the reset asking for my correct email address. On your site, under Manage Bookings, there was no way to correct this and no way to call you. I sent you an email as requested, and you never answered.
Bottom line - I was charged 54.99 for parking I never used owing to your poor site construction. Terrible.
I guess I will need to book parking elsewhere for my trip which still does not occur until 28 August 2022.
What a scam site and a real disapointment from my favorite airport ever.”
