“Travelling out from Edinburgh Airport was easy and enjoyable. My Father had left his hearing aid batteries and we went to Dixons ( air side) to see if he could purchase a pack. While they didn't sell them the staff were able to give him a couple of batteries from a staff members personal supply which we thought was excellent service.
Coming back it took too long to get through passport control compared to other airports that we have used, male toilets just passed passport control give a very poor impression to any visitor”
“On arrival there was a sign saying carpark full so was directed to another entry point. When I got in the there were spaces in the car park. On leaving I had to call for assistance as I was going to be charged a further £84 which caused a delay and held up other users.”
“I find Edinburgh airport generally very efficient to travel from these days. Security works very well and is quick. Screens are clear and generally find I can get to where I need to be when I need to be there with little effort.
Edinburgh Airport Parking however has been poor the last couple of times I've used it... more to come on that!”
“Passport control was very slow people who landed after us actually got through before us using the automatic passport read controllers it delayed our departure home”
“The parking facilities themselves are in good order but they are disgustingly expensive. I pre booked my parking and it cost me £35 for just 2 days! Woe betide anyone who does not pre book their parking as the charges for just grabbing a ticket on the day and paying when you return are absolutely shocking and it is just pure corporate greed charging such fees just to park a car. Airport parking is the parking equivalent of pay day loans they charge such disproportionate fees.”
“My car was not stolen or on fire upon my return however the machine did not recognise that I had prepaid and signage to actually get into the car park was nonexistent”
“Arrival and parking up no problems whatsoever, however on leaving and putting the ticket into the machine I was asked for £100 remaining balance on an already paid up £40 charge. Quickly resolved by "the voice" at the gate intercom. Bit of a shock that was not needed. Otherwise ok service.”
“Car park arrangement was great - all ok until we got to baggage carousel !
4 flights on one carousel NO staff to police the area at all - like the blind leading the blind”
“Car parking was quick to get into and was close to the terminal building. Exiting the car park was not so easy as the automatic cameras had not worked correctly and my booking had not been recognised. Trying to call the helpdesk from the exit gates was also made difficult because the intercom button was not labelled and there were four identical buttons!”
“Fast track through security is excellent.
On a negative point passport control was a disgrace, three international flights and very few to check passports.”
“The £29.99 parking fee charged by booking online was £12 cheaper than I would have paid if I'd paid at the airport. However, having used the online service twice now, the process only worked as it should have once. Last time, the barrier failed to identify my car and I was asked for the full £42 payment. It took two calls to the support staff (and 10 minutes) to be able to leave the car park. With only a 50% success rate, I haven't yet decided whether to risk booking online next time.”
“normally always use this parking but this time when i returned from my break on excite they said i had to pay got a bit panici as had no extra money to pay on pressing buzzer the guy asked if i had ref no which for some reason i kept he let me out if i didnt have this what would have happend paying 40.00 for long weekend was quite enough with out paying any more”
“Very difficult to get a parking space around mid-day.
When we returned after eleven days the machine would not accept our ticket. Stood in the freezing cold at midnight for at least ten minutes while they sorted out their mistake.”
“Sometimes I can not understand why parking on the terminal parking at Edinburgh is so so expensive. And not being guaranteed a place. It took me about 15mins driving round and round waiting. I got one. Then I went on my flight that was cheaper than the parking. Work that one out.”
