“Its OK but needs work i.e
1. There is no longer a shuttle bus so you need to be quite fit to do the walk.
2. The pedestrian route is very poorly signed.
3. Every time I go the system fails to recognise my number plate.”
“Registration wasn’t recognised, took wrong entrance / exit needed to pay further money to get out and back in.
Had to use help buttons for exit again also little frustrating.
Good value for money though and great added fast track security. Just organisation wasn’t great.”
“Very affordable for a four night stay. It was quite hard to find a space in the long stay (which we’d been upgraded to) but we did manage to get one in the end! One glitch - when we left and I entered my ticket with my registration on it said we had £140 to pay despite having prepaid the cost. We waited a while for help at the barrier but when the attendant answered it was quickly sorted and we were on our way - but not the kind of stress you need when you want to get home after a flight.”
“It is a bit confusing with the entrance to the terminal drop off right next to the entrance to the multistory. The ANPR didn't recognise my number plate either so added stress of having to sort that out on my return.”
“Everything fine until I tried to leave and yet again ticket did not work. Operator very helpful but annoying that this is the third time in a year that this has happened”
“Long stay parking on 18-19th Nov was typically good but you must do something about the areas of path walking to terminal that water can collect. It was heavy rain, I know, but some tar, not a lot , in low area might sort this issue.”
“Having pre-booked the parking online ANPR didnt work for some reason and had to get help to get out of the parking lot.
Funny thing is I had paid 9.99GBP for 1 hour of parking whilst on site it was 7GBP, so what the advantage of pre booking it?”
“A pretty good parking experience! We got close to the terminal and it was very convenient to get there - a little harder to find on the way out.
My only concern was that it was very badly signposted when you are entering. there are two areas for terminal parking and I was worried the whole day that I had parked in the wrong one. The guidance sent gives you no indication about which one you are supposed to go into.
When I came to leave the ticket barriers didn’t recognise my plate and it was quoting a 70 quid bill, but after speaking to someone on the intercom and confirming my booking I was able to leave.
Would park here again, now that I know where it is!”
“Very convenient access to the terminal which is why I use this car park.
The signs advising the number of spaces available on each level are consistently wrong.
The lifts are amongst the slowest lifts I have ever used (quicker to walk unless you have baggage).
Exiting when prepaid is an issue on the majority of occasions, meaning I have to buzz through to the attendant to ask for the barrier to be raised.”
“I have used the same car park for all my trips this year out of edinburgh, the price is excellent and I have no issue walking to the terminal. Plenty of spaces any time I’ve visit with good signage, however every time I’ve stayed I have had issues with the sensor reading my registration plate, and had to call for help. Whilst the issue is resolved quickly it’s a small hassle especially at 2am.”
“Parking fine. Signposting to walk from long stay to terminal not easily seen in the dark. When I left the barrier system didn't recognise I had prepaid but when I pressed he intercom the person answering did so quickly and sorted the issue. So room for improvement....”
“We always park in terminal surface parking with great experience. This time when we tried to exit car park when we entered our ticket the machine stated we were due to pay £270!
When we pressed button for help we were kept waiting and traffic was backed up behind us, after approx 5min we pressed help button again and thankfully the guy was more helpful and let us out immediately. We had prepaid and everything was in order but apparently it's a glitch in your computer system that has been going on for at least 6 months...sorted it out! I just hope that know one has actually paid this fee and if they have that Airport parking has refunded them...”
“Disappointed when I returned that their machines were broken and wouldn’t validate the parking pass and tried to charge £165. This seems to be a common occurrence and would put me off having a late night flight arrival”
“Yet again, when I tried to validate my pre booked ticket it showed that I owed the full non pre booked amount. Quick visit to the office sorted this but why, oh why, does this happen so often?”
“Even though I had pre-booked, the system didn't recognize my vehicle and when leaving I was asked to pay £95.
There are no marked walkways towards the terminal. It had been raining and there were big puddles in places which you need to negotiate carrying your luggage.”
