“Walking route to airport poorly signed from long stay. Very difficult to find in the dark at 4am
Pre booked parking did not work, had to buzz for the attendant on leaving, who sorted it out and confirmed I had a valid booking”
“Parking easy to find and near to terminal building. However when trying to leave unable to do so using prepaid parking card. Machine said we owed £140 for three days parking. I did not pay and used call for assistance button. The operator checked our booking and let us out of the car park thankfully.”
“Very efficient. However I was charged an additional gbp18, presumably because I arrived 40 mins earlier and left 28 mins earlier therefore stayed 12min longer than expected. Perhaps a greater tolerance would be acceptable. The alternative is that early arrivals will drive around and park on the roadways near the airport, presumably something the airport wants to avoid.”
“The location of the long stay works - its just a short walk and it saves money. However, this is the second time now when I've pre-booked and it hasn't registered properly meaning I have to use the intercom system on the gate. Fortunately, the guy I spoke to was very helpful and resolved it quickly but it seems silly to have to go through that hassle.”
“Entry and parking was fine but exit left a lot to be desired! After entering ticket for pre-paid parking, the machine asked for £176 ( as it did for other exiting cars ). After call to the customer service team, barrier magically opened with no explanation or apology.”
“Booked and paid online in advance, then followed entry instructions to the letter. But on trying to exit a week later, the barrier wouldn't open and payment of £360 was demanded.
Easily enough resolved by contacting the operator and I continued on my way without having to pay anything. But at 8pm on a Sunday night, after a 5-hour flight and with a 2-hour drive home ahead of me, this was an unpleasant shock that I would rather not have experienced.”
“Fly quite a bit. Over the past two weeks I’ve Stayed in Long Stay twice and Mid stay once. All three times I’m leaving the car park late at night and the ticket machine at the barrier didn’t recognise that I had pre-paid. Staff on the other end of the phone are always good, but it’s still a bit of a pain.
Is this a known issue or is it just me? 😂”
“The barrier did not open on arrival and I had to get a ticket. When I left the machine and barrier did not recognise my number plate so I had to press the button for assistance.”
“On departing the car park the car in front had issues with ticket machine, was there 5 mins and explained to us the previous car had the same issue. We also spent 5 mins trying to reach someone on the comms. When we entered the ticket it showed £300.00 outstanding! Thankfully this wasn't the case and the chap was able to clear the ticket from his office.”
“When I entered my prepaid ticket into the machine, I was surprised to be informed I had £150 due to pay. A member of staff did enable us to depart the car park but it wasn't a pleasant surprise late in the eveing.”
“On arrival parked without any problems, however on departure when I inserted ticket into machine at barrier I was advised I owed £375.00 ! overstay charges, after a few attempts I contacted the assistant who asked me to try ticket again , which produced the same result after a few attempts he eventually lifted the barrier to allow me to exit .”
“After paying for parking for the Friday to Sunday online it seemed a relatively easy process. On our return on Sunday from Bristol we left the car park and on entering our ticket at the barrier it said we had £140 to pay. Obviously this was a error but it makes you wonder how this could happen!”
“Once again the car registration was not recognised on departing and I had to engage with the staff to gain exit even tho I had purchased my online parking. The staff were excellent so well done them 👏”
“The parking spaces are pretty tight and not easy to find a free space. Nowhere to put your trolley when finished with it. Despite booking and paying online, when I came to the barrier upon leaving I was still asked to pay £120 for parking despite the fact that putting my ticket in should have automatically opened the barrier. Thankfully the assistance button worked and somebody opened the barrier but not really the slick system it should be!”
