“i rarely write reviews..
i use your car park occasionally booking/paying in advance
circa half my departures result in the barrier machine wanting more money when i am within the time frame. i have to speak to the nice man on the end of the intercom who lets me out...?!”
“OK, but once again my ticket failed to open the barrier and wanted £515. Resolve over the difficult to hear intercom.
Better than the fast track I once used where the box would not accept the code and it took 20 minutes to get help.”
“I know how the parking works but evidently others don’t and signage to the terminal is very unclear. At the very least designated signs for pedestrian traffic to the terminal and should be installed.”
“way in wonderful, way out very long walk - don't know if this is the fault of edinburgh airport or fast park, would think it is probably the airport which is really stone age compared to other airports.”
“I am a regular user of the multi-storey car park and pre-pay each time and each time I go to exit when I insert my ticket I am told I owe hundreds. Then follows a call to the office to whom I have to give details for them to find my booking and release the gate for me to leave. On Monday evening this appeared to be happening to others in front of me as it did when it became my turn. This has been happening to me for years. GET YOU ACT TOGETHER.”
“When I got to the barrier it tried to charge me. I gave over all my details and it opened but gave me a little stress which isn’t the nicest. The operator was nice but it is unnecessary as I had paid and had all my details to hand luckily.”
“November '22 On arrival Signage into termanal parking not that clear on entry had to guess entrance, no anpr camera for auto entry either as supposed to have had to buzz helpdesk and give them registration number of vehicle. Some tarmac nedding mending and had case trolly wheels trapped in potholes near barrier entry/exit to multi story. Acessing for depature or arrivals area”
“Used this car park many times. Easy to find and spaces available. However this is the second time in 6 months that when exiting the car park your system does not recognise my booking and states that there is an outstanding balance still to pay upon leaving. This causes myself and other drivers delays whilst having to wait for assistance. Your systems need corrected to be able to identify registration plates and bookings better.”
“I had pre-booked he long stay car park and had paid at the time of booking.
Imagine my utter horror when I inserted my card into the machine on the way out and was told I needed to pay £140 (for 5 days parking)!!!
Thankfully a call to their office sorted this and I was able to drive out ok, but imagine if had a dicky ticker? A dead punter from heart failure at the ticket machine is possibly not the image you’re going for…”
“Disappointed I was “ upgraded” - poor signage to another park- no bus serving that park. Poor lighting and signage. Large puddles and a significant walk to terminal building. First time I have been disappointed here. Fortunately the gentleman on the help button cancelled the machines request for £150. I had pre paid.”
“There is only one negative thing about using the Long Stay car park at Edinburgh Airport - the length of the very exposed walk between it and the airport terminal! There used to be a shuttle bus service but it stopped during Covid-19 and has never been reinstated. The result is that you stand a very high risk of arriving at the terminal soaking wet and with soggy luggage. If the operator wants to save money, they need to build a covered walkway to making it an easier experience. The car park surface is rough and full of puddles as well so no real thought as to how to cater for disabled or older customers.”
“The barrier doesn't recognise my number plate so I need to buzz for help every time I park. On leaving the car park a Taxi parked blocking my exit and I had to perform a weird revising maneuver to get round him.”
“Parking and concept of fast track very good but with major issues. On returning into passport control signage is behind you so you can’t see where you are going. There was no one to ask. After finally seeing the signage we changed lanes only to have an atrocious staff member appear shout and bully us. I was left shaking at the whole experience on return.”
“Slightly confusing signage when trying to find the entrance as some signs make it seem like its authorised vehicles only that can use the turn in rather than the sign saying mid stay too. however directions good on email confirmation. When approaching barrier when I was leaving the barrier tried to charge me £110 despite pre paying. This happened to the car in front of me too who reversed and disappeared to try and sort it out. Representative on the call button was very helpful however and solved this quickly but when asking another couple in a car they told me this happens frequently.”
“We walked with 2 suitcases - which we expected as advertised - no shuttle. But the footpath was bumpy and uneven. On the return the footpath directions weren't obvious from the arrivals terminal. Finally, despite advance payment of £52 and arriving/ departing within specified times, on exit the ticket machine said we owed £264! We pressed the help button and the barrier was lifted - but - what is going on when you have inserted a prepaid valid ticket ?. Otherwise it is handy to find and you can walk rather than wait on shuttles on a freezing night.”
“Parking was okay but, when I came to leave and inserted my ticket, the screen showed £130 to pay, in spite of having pre-paid. I then struggled to find the Help button in the dark and had a delay getting my ticket verified by the attendant. Not what I expected and an unnecessary hassle after a long day travelling.”
“Its OK but needs work i.e
1. There is no longer a shuttle bus so you need to be quite fit to do the walk.
2. The pedestrian route is very poorly signed.
3. Every time I go the system fails to recognise my number plate.”
“Registration wasn’t recognised, took wrong entrance / exit needed to pay further money to get out and back in.
Had to use help buttons for exit again also little frustrating.
Good value for money though and great added fast track security. Just organisation wasn’t great.”
