“the mid stay parking is handy as it is just a short walk from the terminal however the paking spaces are very narrow. the fast track is great (even though we have to pay extra), the normal way is too busy, Edinburgh airport should review it. The guy at the entrance of the fast track is not very friendly at all”
“The Multi Storey Car Park gives undercover parking within close proximity to the Terminal however the price has substantially increased over the last year form previous parking and for this reason I only give a 3 star rating otherwise it would have been a 5 star.”
“The multi-storey is great, access via the bridge is good but the signs are hopeless. Inside the airport and going into the car park. You need to be in the left hand lane, but the first time I couldn't because someone had gone the wrong way and was reversing out. So I went around the pick up point and asked an employee who had no idea about prepaid parking. So I went around again, found someone else reversing out of the left hand lane but waited this time for them to get out. Going back to the car after being away, the signs weren't clear about how to get to the multi storey, again I asked someone who pointed me in the right direction.”
“I had prebooked a space and the entry and exit system worked smoothly.
I have not been given the option of saying what made me not happy so I will add it here. The mid car park access was through a building site. Whilst the route was well lit, some of the route was between portable cabins making it feel unsafe for a woman on their own”
“Easy access/exit - reasonably handy - no problems with barriers. However, it is completely outrageous for the Airport to claim on the website that it is a '2 minute walk to the terminal'. In my experience it was nearer 10 minutes [parked at the top end of Areas R & S] since the Surface Car park was almost full. EDI should make it clear that for some customers the '2 minutes walk to the Terminal' is only for the few who manage to park right at the exit. Their website should say 'between 2 & 10 Minutes walk to Terminal depending on the parking spaces available'.Otherwise it is a complete con.”
“It was great to get parked so close to the airport and my car was safe enough. Although I wasn’t overly happy at being charged £12 for being over my stay due to my flight having to be turned back around towards Tenerife due to an ill passenger which put a 3 hour delay on my flight.”
“Used mid stay car park. 10/15 minute uncovered walk to terminal. I had pre-booked the parking but as happens regularly when leaving Edinburgh Airport car parks...........the ticket didn't activate and we had to give our booking code to the attendant to be allowed out.”
“"Used the \"surface \" car park which is only a two minute walk from main airport terminal. Very handy but extremely busy, we drove around for at least 20 minutes before finding a parking space."”
“Car park's fine and at the time we visited the buses were regular. For some reason the bus doesn't drop you outside departures, but beside the trams which is slightly annoying. Signage is generally poor. As you drive towards the airport you see a large sign for long stay parking on the left, but it's not for the airport's own long stay - this sign should be removed or updated with branding. When you return to the airport the signage for the shuttle bus is dire too. The bus stances have letters (A,B,C...) but the bus directory seems to indicate that the bus leaves from a numbered stance. When you eventually find these (a 5 minute hike and road crossing beyond the trams) you find a second sign telling you that this isn't where the bus leaves from at all, and so you trudge back to the lettered stances.”
“"Getting the car under cover and fast track"
However as there is no place on this review for me to illustrate what did not make me happy I will write it here.
I arrived in the dark and left in the dark and found the signage particularly the ground markings very poor which led me to take the wrong approach to the multi storey. When leaving the machine told me I was in the wrong car park for the ticket. After several attempts we parked the car and spoke someone in the control to try and get out. After some discussion we were told, by the machine, that we owed over £2000, which happened to us more than ago also, which total rubbish!! And this caused amusement from the man at control!!
Someone with heart problems could have an attack to be faced with this, come on get that sorted please. The man standing beside us at the other machine got a similar message. Are you trying to kill off your customers.
After some debated the control sorted things out but what a poor show for Scotland's capitals airport.
I am a local, who knows what out visitors think if faced with such a welcome.
I will be writing to Mr Gordon Dewar who I would like to think will not be happy with what I tell him.
And I do not want 10% discount as I think this money can be better used to get the machine software updated.”
