“Although I have used Edinburgh Airport extensively this was the first time my car was parked for the week
The signage needs to be demarked from the other parking options as I tried three before I found the correct one
Try colour coding possibly red”
“No loyalty program for regular customers, parking is very expensive. Turning into and out of the medium stay is too tight.
Generally Edinburgh airport is not fit for purpose.”
“The directions to the car park were slightly confusing. There were no staff at the car park and there were no marked parking bays available. We needed to park to the side of one of the car park roads and weren't sure if this was allowed. This wasn't great for such an expensive car park.
The car was kept safe and the location and bus service were great.”
“We had booked with this official car park but by mistake entered the car park signposted Long Stay that turned out to be NCP Scotpark. We are visitors to Edinburgh and didn't know that there is more than one Long Stay car park. NCP have no number plate recognition and their bus driver said we weren't on his list because his hand written list was out of date. On return from holiday NCP stung us for £192. Signposting at the airport is chaos and reflects badly on the city. Sort it out.”
“Paid sixty five pounds upfront to park for three days, when I got to the car park it took me twenty minutes to find a space, travel is stressful enough without this rubbish, when people are forking out cash they expect better.Very unsatisfactory.”
“Due to a personal issue we had to return a day after our original exit day. So we had paid circa £69 for 17 or 18 days but to extend that by 1 day it cost me circa £65 which is ridiculous.
I use the car park all the time and was really disappointed with this.”
“Despite having booked and paid in advance there were no spaces available on arrival. After 20 minutes of fruitlessly driving around had to park on a corner outside a designated parking bay. I was not the only one. Would not use the Long Stay again.”
“I was very confused was not sure if I was in the correct park or not it took about 20 min to find a park space our car a large Range Rover very tight space found then had to drive forward to unload cases remember we had a 3month old baby as well we managed to park up by the entrance no child parking? I also had a disabled child bib not mention when booking about disability parking a walked passed the bays on entry to the air port but left the blue badge at home very disappointed”
“Ticket would not open gate ,and barrier intercom did not work ,had to go back to use pay satation one.Ticket when put in machine stated i had £180 to pay it was a prepaid ticket ,whole get out took to long”
“Made booking in error. Called immediately to cancel: no answer.
Emailed to cancel - slow response - request to cancel refused due to policy. Pretty poor show.”
“Arriving at the airport by went smoothly, not long to wait for the bus. On arrival at the terminal I made a note of where I left the bus so I would know where to go at midnight two weeks later and with a five hour drive north ahead of me. Walking back to the bus I saw a sign leaning at a angle to might right which says 'Bus to long stay parking at stance A' The arrow came up from the ground, did a U turn and pointed back at the ground. This was my first time (and probably the last) time I use your airport after this experience and I had absolutely no way of knowing where 'stance A' was. It took me some time and the help of another bus driver to find it. As far as I am concerned you showed absolute contempt for your users. So impressed was I with your signage that I haver a photograph of it on my phone. James R Elliott”
“Far too expensive, fifty quid for 2 days parking in the mid stay, it's a rip off and you should be ashamed of this blatant profiteering from a captive customer base.”
“Used Edinburgh airport parking 4 times last month and every time had a problem at the ticket paying machine. The use of upping prices to control the amount traffic parking is a disgrace and highlights the lack of political interest in our standard of living”
“Took one of my number plate digits as a 0 instead of an O. So having prepaid it then asked for £84 at the barrier. No answer from telecom so had to reverse park walk back query at office and then on my way. If they had answered the telecom would have made a lot easier!!”
“Okay - so finding the surface parking, physically parking and the proximity to the terminal building all absolutely fine. The big issue (bearing in mind that this happened at 11pm at night after a day travelling) - we get to the barrier with our pre-booked and pre-paid ticket, pop it into the machine and it tells us to pay £208!! We try again, same issue. We had to press the button, which admittedly was answered very quickly - we quoted our booking reference and they opened the barrier. But still - really!! This should not happen. Pre booked and pre-paid should mean a seamless entry and exit.”
“Drove around for a long time looking for an official parking space within the long term car park. Then like so many others I found a spare unofficial "space" at the end of a double row to park. Very uneasy about that as, surprise I have not read all the small print. What if I had come back and found that someone had scraped past me. Who would pay then. I can see from the car parks viewpoint that they cannot tell how many non booked arrivals might turn up. However , how about technology you see in use elsewhere, where a counter monitors available spaces and unit movements. And yes you would need an over flow car park as spare.”
“It did not make me happy at all. The sign posts were not prominent. Thus one was temporarily bamboozled as to the location of Departures, which, after all, was the very reason for using Edinburgh Airport Parking. Also the cost is outrageous and the walk to the terminal too long. Fortunately I was spared the usual horizontal rain.”
