“Generally ok but why after pre booking and paying in advance did the system try to take another £150 at the barrier. One of our group in another car ended up paying to get out. Several other cars had the same issue.”
“Flight was late so rushed. Gate failed to recognise ticket. Couldn’t see intercom button in dark. Staff overwhelmed with drivers unable to exit. Horrible and stressful experience.”
“I got a nasty surprise when I made to leave the multi storey carpark and was shown a bill for £225. I pressed the button for assistance and explained that I had prebooked. I was asked my registration and name , the gate went up without explanation and I was allowed on my way. No apology. Very disconcerting. There has to be a better way of organising this.”
“The signage for the multi-story parking is abysmal from the main entrance to the parking. Multi-story is on the Exit route and there is no indication that you need to go towards the exit to find it. This has been like this for at least 2 years since we last travelled from Edinburgh. We made the same complaint then and nothing has changed. You people must so be so lazy why do you even bother doing surveys if you are not going to take any notice of them !!!
Exit the exit barriers 3 cars were having trouble exiting. We found out why after about 10 minutes as we were billed £540 for parking we had already paid for. We spoke to the attendant who took a while to answer, and he cancelled the charge. Had I pressed the wrong button I would have been billed and had to reclaim the charge and all that entails with companies like yours.

“The last 3 times I have attempted to leave the airport parking the machine tells me I owe an obscene amount of money even though I’d pre-booked. I then have to call up the operator to let me leave. He retrieves my booking and let’s me out but the airport is obviously just trying to get people to not question the mistake and just pay the fee.
It is expensive enough as it is!”
“Inadequate signposting of walking route from terminal to long stay car park - couldn't find proper route. Took us 20 minutes via the access road. Removal of shuttle bus is very disappointing. I prepayed but automatic number plate recognition did not work. On exit I was asked to pay £150 for 5 days parking. Eventually allowed out after waiting for phone assistance.”
“On exiting I was charged £150, despite having prepaid. Last time I was here, I was charged an excess of £180. Reading other users' comments, this seems to be a common experience. Why is the airport routinely overcharging customers? It's a real problem.”
“My return flight from Belfast city airport was delayed nearly four hours - when in eventually got to my car and drive out I had to pay an additional £40 at the barrier to exit ! For something completely out of my control .

“I could not exit at the barrier and was being asked to pay an additional £110 on top of the prepaid fee. No one answered the intercom at the barrier. All hugely inconvenient after a flight.”
“I prepaid for a parking spot, however, when I turned up I still had to pay an extra £20. Not sure why it did not register my registration plate. I have tried to get in touch with customer services to resolve this and receive a refund for my prepaid ticket but no reply.”
“When we tried to exit the car park after our 3 days away, the exit barrier tried to charge us £140, for some reason it did not recognise our ticket, luckily I managed to speak to someone who confirmed my booking. If it had been an old person it could have been very distressing.”

“Booked the long stay and was aware that the courtesy bus was no longer available and we would have to walk to the terminal. However in the dark it was challenging to find the way to go. On leaving the car park upon our return we were asked to pay £170 despite the fact we had pre booked and pre payed for our stay! I pushed the help button and eventually it was answered by a helpful chap who let us out.
All a bit shambolic. I’ll consider my options in future.”
