“we waited 30 mins for bus to take us back to the car park
We are two pensioners and we had lots of luggage. It was around 7.30 in the evening and it was very cold and dark.
No bus arrived. We had to walk with our suitcases and bags 25 mins along a dark road mostly without a pavement.
We were told on the car park exit assistance that we should have received an email to say the bus stop had been moved. We didnt receive any emails.
There was no reply on any Plane Parking telephone number and no sign at the Plane Parking bus stop to say that the bus had been moved elsewhere.
Our aircraft was a day late arriving because of a wild cat baggage strike. Initially we were told this would incur a £40 parking penalty. We managed to book an extra day to cover our time and our agent managed to negotiate with the airport that this would be acceptable.
We were v. grateful for this but we did think that £40 which we were going to be charged for the delay which was way beyond our control was very steep and not acceptable.
We have more parking at Edinburgh ariport booked. We just hope that it isn't with Plane Parking!”
“Online prepayment system and entry to car park fine but on trying to exit the car park at 8pm in the evening the ANPR was not working and the console was asking for a payment of £150 - this fault was on all three exit barriers. Poor lighting made it difficult to find the customer help button but once located the staff member manually entered details to allow all cars to leave - big queue building as a result.”
“So I prepaid the Mid stay car park and as I had used it many times before I didn't have my booking ref to hand when leaving the car park late at night - it charged me a fee of £90 and as I couldnt confirrm my booking I had to pay to get out - I have already sent an e mail to get a refund - no reply but then you can send me this - well my experience was terrible and I want my money back !!!!!!!!! so an overnight stay has cost me £118 ...........very reasonable NOT”
“Never use Plane Parking. Return pick up a disaster. No shuttle, had to use an old fire truck organized by customer parking office. Could hardly get in it as the step was nearly3ft high and then to cap it all they tried to charge 176 pounds to get out. Speaker phone was out of action but managed to get through to them on another exit. They let me out after a few minutes.”
“I reserved and prepaid a ticket online in the airport page for the long stay parcking from 9:30 to 12:00 I paid £8.99 using the 10% discount I received the confirmation by email . I arrived at 9:59 and left at 12:14 I followed the instructions I take my ticket in the barrier with my plate names as expected . When I leave I went to the payment machine. I was expecting to pay a difference for the 15 min extra but I was charged £16.50 for 3 hours so I paid twice. There is no sense to paid online if you charged again when you leaves. I hope you process a refund for the £16.50 thanks Arnaldo Palmieri”
“Never use them again. They tried to charge me £110.00 to exit car park , even though I booked and paid no line. Then no one would answer the comma, waited 15 minutes and nobody would answer the comms or phone. Talking to other people and this seems to be a common theme. Absolute rip off, poor show for the capital car park to try and con people. Do not use !”
“I had already paid for the parking online, and then I was changed when I was coming out of the parking. I don't know how to get in touch with the parking system as I don't have any phone number in my parking confirmation email to discuss this with the team. I am happy to give a higher 5* rating if you sort out my issues and refund the money I paid when I came out of the parking.”
“Depositing the car was fine. Upon collection, after confirming which flight we would be returning on, the system told me my car was not ready to collect, and that we'd booked for 3pm the following day, 15 hours after the flight landed, which was completely incorrect. It was an hour after landing before the car was ready. Then after getting the car, the barrier tried to charge an additional £4 to leave the car park when I'd already paid £55 for a poor service.”
“Used on-site parking for many years and didn't notice changes when booking. Now no bus. Expected to walk 10 minutes in heavy rain to the airport. Other people in the same boat. Told the parking had changed to Plane Parking. Changed to a remote car park but still on airport ground. We got an email before our return to say no buses but go to car parking office and transport would be arranged. A fire service mini bus used. No step for getting on. An old person would never have managed. Such a shame. Looks like the end of using Edinburgh Airport Parking.”
“I had the worst experience of my life. I pre booked for parking for 1 day. Tried to leave after my journey and was charged 75 pounds for over stay when i only was late for 5 mins. I will take this matter up. Pure rip off.”
“On arrival very poor signage to airport terminal and lighting was inadequate for walk to terminal. No cover from the weather and got soaked going to and from the car park , on exit the barrier didn’t raise and requested £156 pound charge even thou we pre paid this was eventually resolved using the intercom helpline”
“Prepaid parking.
On departure, after inserting ticket was told to pay £155 for what nights.
Huge queue behind me as I had to phone help.
The barrier was remotely opened.
Nightmare.”
“I could not gain access without purchasing a ticket
and i ended up having to pay the full price of £120 for parking to exit the car park.
Looks like i have paid twice for parking.
Very disappointed”
“Overcharged to use the terminal car park or I couldn't get out! Got to the exit gate and despite having pre booked and paid up. Only way I could get out was to pay £155. Have been trying to get it refunded since but contact has been impossible with phone line useless to sort it out.”
“We paid £149.30 for 14 days parking from 19th Oct to 2nd Nov !
Our flight was delayed by industrial action in Cyprus and we did not get home until 3rd Nov .
We were charged £65 on exiting the car park extra !
This is almost 50% of the original cost . Shocking .
Surely we should have paid 150/14=10.71 and not 65 .
Ridiculous .”
