“Had issues with machine not recognising vehicle and ticket when first entered and tried to charge over 200 when came to exit ..not good ..was sorted ok when telephoned but was rather concerning to say the least”
“Great location just a pity that trying to find a space is getting more and more difficult. There should be a dedicated area for people who only wish to park for an hour . It us very frustrating driving round and round when you have a flight to catch. I see more and more cars parking on verges”
“When I arrived to park my car there were only 2 spaces left in the whole car park and it took me good 25min to drive around 1 way system to find a spot. Very stresfull experiance.”
“Followed sat nav instructions and also email instructions. No sign of Camera that will recognise your car reg and let you in. Took ticket from machine at what i guessed was correct car park. On return came back to a £225 parking charge that to be fair was wiped the second i raised a concern. However it worries me how many people would panic and pay up.”
“Ticket didn't work at exit. The problem was unreadability. Part of my vehicle registration was missing from the print. Had to be remotely assisted. The man was rather abrupt.”
“When meeting an international flight using the pick up is not an option becuse you have to allow for possible delays. The only option really is short term. While it is close to the terminal and convenient it is very expensive for a pick up option. Also when you arrive you are searching for a space. surely there must be a way to highlight empty spaces.”
“The car parks at Edinburgh airport are a testament to the government’s initiative to use public transport.
Make sure you arrive with plenty of time to find a parking space. Parking spots are few and far between, even in September. This is not helped by larger vehicles taking up more than their allocated parking spaces (who takes their camper van to park at an airport anyway?).
On the plus side, the bus drivers play great music to calm you down. Number plate recognition on leaving eliminates the need to hunt for the ticket you mislaid.”
“Not quite sure what you want me to say! I booked parking online. I turned up at the car park and parked my car. I caught my flight. I came back. I went to my car in the car park and drove home.”
“Everything i pre book parking on the official site... when I pick up my car and get to the barrier it says I owe hundreds of pounds.... this is rectified once I've spoke to the representative through the intercom, but to be honest , it's the last thing you need after a flight, immigration, customs etc”
“I would have given full marks as everything was easy and straightforward however when we returned to the car there were scratches on the driver door and rear driver side door.”
“The actual carpark was good and well signposted.
However the procedures were confusing. We booked in advance, but still had to take a ticket at rhe entrance barrier. So far, so good, but when we returned 3 days later we were told we had outstanding charges of about £115!
We finally got through on the intercom (button not clearly marked and a choice of several) and on giving our registration number we were allowed through.
Did we miss an instruction or two ???”
“Worked out ok in the end. Had to drive around and back out due to lack of space where I had booked. A sign had been placeed at the entrance to be fair but for a first timer, it's hard to know where to go. Too many fences so that you need to walk around cars in the rain and dark to get to the entrance/exit. Not clear if there is a pedestrian gate. Did not see a sign for best way to walk. Too many puddles, case gets wet. Gorund is rough, difficult on the case. Spaces always tight for getting bags out/in car. Always feels expensive. Signage/best paths to walk could improve. Overall good for being near enough to terminal building.”
