“I pre-booked my parking at Edinburgh Airport, expecting a smooth experience. Unfortunately, on exiting, the barrier system tried to charge me £350 – despite my booking being fully paid in advance. I wasn’t the only one, as several others were stuck in the same situation. Staff eventually resolved the issue, but it caused unnecessary stress and delays. Disappointing end to an otherwise straightforward trip, this really needs to be fixed.”

I paid in advance for a days parking with fast track.
30 odd quid for a days parking.
I parked at 4:30am and exited the carpark at 9:30pm - so less than 24 Hrs
However when I tried to exit the barrier wouldn’t open unless I paid another £28.
Have to say - I felt robbed.

“Parking car was fine and fast security was great. On our return at 2.30am we got to the barrier and was charged £199 but I had already paid in March for the car park and fast security. As you can imagine after a long flight we were tired and just wanted to get on the road for our 2 hour drive home so we just paid the money to get out of the car park. I noticed other people were having issues with their tickets also. I have contacted Plane parking and am still waiting for a response. Any online chats I do say they are nothing to do with Plane parking. I will not be using this car park again, I would however like for someone to contact me and refund my money.”
“Advertised as refundable but it it’s conditional. I had to cancel my trip under 24 hrs and wasn’t eligible for a refund. In this day and age with everything being automated there is no good reason for this. Never again.”

“Arrived on time for pre paid Plane Parking at Edinburgh air[port for two weeks. The car park was almost entirely full and it took around 30 minutes to find a vacant space. No help or advice was available on avai;able spaces. On return two weeks later exiting the car park was a nightmare for not just ourselves but others. The ticket machine did not respond to the ticket and pressing the help button at the fgate did ring a phone somewhere but nobody answered. Hopeless Im afraid. Eventually the gate mysteriously opened and let us out”
“Not a great experience. After pre paying for a 24hour stay, it told me I owed them £140. Waited for 5 mins to speak to someone then a further 3-4 minutes before the barrier was lifted. This happens all the time when I pre pay at Edinburgh Airport. Surely they can afford registration plate recognition just like at st James Quarter.”

“Edinburgh airport has excelled yet again as the grimmest airport to fly in and out of. Thankfully we are able bodied and are more than capable of walking from longstay while carrying our bags, in yet another year of scrimping on service for owner profits with the continued absence of a shuttle bus. And now a charge to access a trolley!”
“My flight Air France AF1886 on 21 June 2025 was cancelled at the last minute and their best offer was the same flight 24 hours later. i had already paid Edinburgh Airport for 11 days total £94.99. Clearly I was expecting an extra day surcharge maybe £10 or £15 . Instead I was charged a rip off fee of £55!!”

An error was made during pre-booking and pre-payment.
I accidentally put the time of return incorrect by 5 minutes which resulted in me being charged £60 at the barrier, although the dates of booking were correct. Disappointed to be punished this severely given this was a pre-paid booking.”
“I booked FastPark( booking order Q03gg0CIP from 25/05/25 to 29/05/25) When I arrived at the airport there was a complete jam and no cars were able to enter the FastPark despite the bookings . After waiting in line for 30mins with no movement and no advice about what to do I had to leave the line and very rapidly find another place to park otherwise I would have missed my flight to London and connecting flight onto Japan . I wrote to complain and claim a refund but to date have received no response or apology . This problem affected a lot of people and I think was caused by people from a function at Inglestone filling the airport car parks . However it was a really stressful experience in every way .”
