“Parking was easy and car was ready. However I signed up and paid for fast track but no one could tell me how to use it so it was a “rip off”. When we returned there were 3 workers standing around and told my daughter to pay inside. It was how he said it that made us uncomfortable. Luckily another worker was gracious and stepped over to help us since we were not from Scotland. So parking was great...customer service not so much.”
“At £70 to park from Thursday to Monday you can imagine how irritated I was when a two hour flight delay meant I had to pay another £10 to get out of the car park. Very shoddy practice, this is an carpark operated by the airport themselves and as such I would have expected a little more understanding of flight delays.”
“The Long Stay car park has been busy over the last few months, largely due to construction work in the car park. It has, however, always been possible to find a space, even if you may have to park outside of the marked spaces. Severe speed bumps have been put in on the approach to the tramline crossing. This is understandable but they are too severe - you have to more or less stop to go over them otherwise you risk damaging the car. Less severe bumps would have done the job, without risk to cars. Make sure your dash cam is on so you can make a claim if your car is damaged despite taking care. There are a few severe bumps within the car park too, but it is possible to avoid them by taking longer routes to get to the back of the car park. The time between buses has increased but it is possible to walk by going through the car park, through the mid-stay car park and then following the signs. It takes about 5 mins or so.”
“Opted for the new Long Stay Express - a good price for two weeks. On the day of arrival at 6.30am (first day of the school holidays) it seemed like the parking facilities and the rest of the airport were just not geared up for a very busy day. Majority of the Long Stay Express arrival lanes full and cones closing off the partially filled lanes, not very clear of where to go / arrive / check in. However parking staff polite and helpful when they eventually attended. The entire airport facility seemed to be caught on the back foot, not a seamless experience.”
“Edinburgh Airport Parking is bursting at the seams. I booked space on the ground in front of the terminal, however, in reality, there were only 2 spaces available in the whole car park about as far from the terminal as it is possible to walk. There were no trolleys (or trolley park) at that end of the car park so had a long haul carrying bags to the terminal. Still, it is a lot more convenient than any of the off-site car parks which can add an hour to your journey each way.”
“The car park is in a handy location however our flight was delayed and so we were 30 minutes late on collecting our car, this then meant we were charged £6 which seems very expensive and some leeway should be given incase of situation like this. I would recommend adding an hour or 2 to your parking to avoid these charges.”
“Review of new Long Stay Express Car Park.
Long stay car park and bus as would expect.... waiting time 10 mins for bus but short journey to airport. The ‘Express’ part where staff take and park your car and have it ready for your return seemed to have broken down completely. Irate passengers were waiting for their cars to be returned to them in the office. I would recommend using the new Carpark but park your car yourself and keep a hold of your own keys, at least you will know when you will be able to leave!”
“Used new Long Stay Express for 1st time. It all worked, but I don’t think it’s any more convenient than normal long stay by the time you check in at either end.”
“Was easy access to the terminal. However paid £99.00 and online website advised someone would take care away for valet and car would be ready when returned cleaned. Got to car park no attendant available at fast track as advised and parked car myself and no valet included as advised when paid. Disappointed”
“Would have been a great service but signage poor and no instructions from the bus driver when we returned either. Ended up trudging with cases across car park. Finally when we thought we had made it we couldn't get out of barrier as card we needed had been retained by the reception when we collected keys! Just needs to be clearer and slicker. Price was excellent.”
“It didn't this time as we were directed by signs to the overspill area of the surface car park only to discover as we walked the extra distance to the terminal that there were many empty spaces in the main surface car park.”
“I booked this parking in advance expecting that this would ensure I would get a parking place without any trouble. I wanted to avoid being delayed having to wait for a shuttle bus from a car park further away from the terminal building so I paid the extra cost to be near the terminal building. On arrival at the car park however, I found it was full and had to cruise around to find a space. Eventually I got one, away in a corner. It was just as well I had allowed plenty of time. On the positive side entry and exit went smoothly.”
“Good value.
Return service good.
Major improvements required on entry “chaotic”
One guy doing his hardest, several others seemed to be standing around doing nothing!!
iPad was either playing up or guy needed training, didn’t help when queues were mounting.”
“Parking was not a problem however when I cam back from Holiday I had damage to my rear bumper which was scratched probably by someone banging into it with a suitcase or similar whilst parked so not really impressed by this at all.”
“I paid £73.99 for Terminal Multi-Storey + fastTRACK parking from 12:00 on 9 to 21:30 on 13 July 2018. My return flight on 13 July was 4 hours late and I was charged £11.00 for the delay. I consider a charge of £11.00 for 4 hours additional parking when I have paid £73.99 for 4.5 days parking is disproportionate and punitive. Is this any way to treat customers who buy your premium products?”
