“In this day and age it should surely be possible to number parking spaces, and then digitally display where there are free spaces in the Long Stay car park. The reality is 10-15 minutes driving around looking for a free space - even if I have left in plenty of time by the end of that I will be slightly pushed for time. Which is what happened, so when I saw the shuttle bus I ran for it and did not note exactly where my car was parked, which is what I usually do. Consequently, when I returned in the hours of darkness the next day to retrieve my car I had great trouble finding it, making me even later getting home (the flights were of course also delayed). There was a long wait for the shuttle bus on Tuesday night (ca 9.40) from the terminal and the bus which eventually arrived was far too small for the people and the amount of luggage who needed to get on it.”
“I had pre booked terminal surface as it’s only a 2 minute walk to the terminal, I use this car park about 5 times a year, normally it’s ok, however, this time it was really full and I had to drive around and around until a space opened up 10 minutes later. Returning 1 week later at 2am I found the car park lights not working which made locating my car quite difficult.”
“Booked from 9am Saturday till 2pm Tuesday, but was charged further £3 on exit, for the 2 hour delay caused by EasyJet. I thought I had bought 4 days parking which should have lasted till 9am Wednesday”
“Not happy at surface car park drove around for 20 minutes too find a space then eventually went too office when they directed me too a overspill car park which did not take 2 muinutes too get too terminal building it took a lot longer”
“Everything was straightforward from the onlne booking, finding and then accessing the car park. Once in the car park there I was unable to find any vacant marked parking spaces as had clearly been the case with many other users who had been forced to park on the access lanes at the ends of the lines of parked cars. The time taken (probably pushing towards 15 minutes) caused unnecessary stress when one knows that there is a deadline for checking in, getting through security etc.”
“On arrival the car park was exceptionally busy and we had to drive around for a good 10 minutes before finding a space well away from the terminal. We also saw a car that had been broken into with a police aware sign and that didn't fill me with confidence that the car park was as secure as it should be. However the arrival and departure was easy.”
“We pre-booked to park in surface car park near airport, yet when we got there, there was no spaces. We had to circle round for 30min to get a space. Lucky we got there early but when you pay extra to park nearer you expect to get a space. We should have parked in the long stay for cheaper and saved the hassle.”
“We loved parking at the multi storey as it is safe and convenient but not happy with Edinburgh airport parking having taken valet parking that for a family with small child and health issues was the best choice...I believe it should be brought back and am sure I'm not the only one feeling the same way as I got to get the car cleaned as well for coming back”
“Quite expensive but necessary for us as husband has mobility problems and return flight was due in late evening, in fact was 2 hours late. I had to pay additional charge at exit and although I now realise I made a mistake in my expected return arrival time I would be interested to know what leeway is given for late arrival of flight time.”
“Parked in the mid stay, yes its only a short walk, however if raining forget it, if arriving late its a quite walk by a building site, poor surface to walk on and could be signposted better. Next time I will use long stay, its right next door has a bus and probably take same amount of time to get back to car”
“It is disappointing to prebook a space and then find that the car park is full. Luckily I had a passenger who knew that there was an "overflow" site, but there were no directions, nor anyone on hand to help a novice parker. Disappointed.”
“We booked long stay stay express but when we got there we were not met by anyone as promised. I asked an attendant and we were told it was full so we had to drive to another part of the car park and leave our car and take keys with us. When we returned from holiday we tried to leave car park and barrier would not lift and machine asked for payment of £315. We had to press for help to access.”
“Car park itself is perfectly fine, bus shuttle works great no issues. If you aren't a regular to Edi airport then you might struggle to find it first time. Lots of signs around the place and most of them confusing. On your way back, good luck finding the correct place to get the shuttle bus from, very confusing.”
