“Returning to the car park at 01.30 in the morning I presented my pre paid ticket to the machine at the exit barrier and was informed on the screen there was £120 to pay
The button for contacting customer service on the barrier machine was not illuminated and I had to get out of my car in the rain to locate the button to contact customer service. This problem was being experienced at all 3 exit lanes and the time taken to exit the car park was around 25 minutes
Having pre paid for my parking because of the late arrival time of my flight I did expect a speedy hassle free exit from the car park but sadly this was not to bo
So 2 out of 10 for this experience”
“The booking of the ticket was simple and easy, however when I went to leave the car park I was asked to pay £110 for my parking, even though I had a prepaid ticket. I had to call for assistance at the barrier where the person was able to correct the problem, but it was not a good experience panicking that I might have to pay this additional amount while a number of cars were also becoming impatient behind me.”
“We felt that our chosen carpark was poorly signposted and that the directions/map in the email booking did not match the signage on the road. We also felt that the instructions in the email did not match what happened at the ticket machine on entering. It was quite a stressful start to our trip because of this but on our return/exit we were helped by a really efficient and nice member of staff at the car parking helpdesk. So thank you to him. When we tried to exit the car park, the machine said that we owed £115 (!) which was stressful, but the member of staff waivered this saying that the ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) system can't have been working properly. This has made me worried for my next Edinburgh Airport with car parking trip! Hopefully it will be fine.”
“Not for the first time I flew in to Edinburgh at night to find that the ANPR system at the long stay barrier wasn't working. I tried more than one barrier to no avail. It is extremely difficult to see the communication button in the dark, made worse by being told it is at the barrier when it is in fact on the ticket machine. I had prepaid online but the machine asked for an additional £154 to let me out! When I finally found the communication button the nice man I spoke to sorted it out. However, after a long day of travel this situation simply added to the stress experienced by my wife and I. As I said above, this wasn't the first time. As a minimum, an explanatuon and an apology would be nice. Entry was so much easier then getting out again!
Signage and lighting in the car park are poor too. Time some money was spent on it.”
“Arrived at the muti-storey carpark, parked and found the Fast-track security bridge was closed. Part of the reason I picked the parking I did was for the fast-track security. In the security hall the lane for fast-track was also closed. Arrived back drove to the barriers to insert my ticket and find I had £150 to pay. So a 5 min wait at the barrier till someone answered the intercom and dealt with it. So basically if you are booking this parking for time saving and ease, you won't get it”
“Parking location excellent. Every time I use the car park I cannot leave without being asked to pay the charge, even though I always pre book. This means I then have to use the call button to speak to someone to allow me to leave.”
“We used FastPark from 23rd October to very early in the morning on the 31st. The FastPark entry and exit worked brilliantly, only positive comments. Unfortunately as we left the airport we noticed that the air pressure warning light had come on and by the next morning, it was clear we had a puncture. Unfortunately not repairable so a £220 additonal cost and headache. There is no doubt that this occurred during the week (and possibly as late as the vehicle being put in position for collection). I have made contact via the email address and await a response.”
“Ive used your parking services twice at Edinburgh. On both occasions booked on your website. On both occasions the ticket didn't recognise my prepayment and wanted hundreds of pounds. I wouldnt rush back.”
“Very easy parking so close to the terminal. Seamless drop off and pick up. Very reasonable prices too. However!! My flight home was cancelled and I had to reschedule for the following day. Despite emailing them with new flight details and times I was charged an additional 50% of the weekly cost for the extra 24 hours. Started off positive impression of company now negative”
“Prepaid but was asked for £140 when leaving.it was sorted by the staff on the intercom but some sharp practice that should be investigated - not a good look for an Intl Airport.”
“I was parked in the long stay car park, parking was fine however the sign which told you where spaces were was less than helpful. The car park is quite poorly lit and there were no signs I could see pointing us toward the correct exit until we got to the mid stay car park. When I returned from my trip and put my ticket in it said I was due to pay £140 even though I had already booked and paid for parking! The only redeeming factor was the guy At customer service was really helpful and lifted the barriers for us.
I would not recommend this car park to anyone with mobility issues or even a pram due to the lighting and poor walk ways.”
“On return, my pre-paid ticket wasn't recognised by the payment machine, so I got a charge of £225. Fortunately the staff there sorted it out easily. But it's not what you need getting off a flight at midnight.”
“Unfortunately this time few things did not go right,..
I pre booked and paid my stay but on arrival at entry my car registration number was not detected. As result of this i took a ticket from the machine not knowing that doing i would have asked to pay again when leaving. I have managed in the end to get my charge waved by the assistant but it wasn’t a nice customer experience”
“The drop-off luggage arrangement was good, but, as a disabled Blue Badge holder I thought I was allowed 1 hour free of charge. I took a wrong turning after being charged £4 and then had to pay an additional £9 in order to leave.
When returning from my holiday I found the hike to the Long Stay Car park far too long especially when carrying luggage. Additionally the signage from the Arrivals area was not too clear.”
