“Although I booked in advance, I could not find out any place to park.
I decided to park at prohibited area with concern.
I had no time to try another parking area, because I did not know how to cancel and try another area and did not have enough time for my flight.

“The parking was very expensive, was not aware the earlier you book the cheaper it will be, on return to pick up my car the directions are not correct so had to ask someone and not easy to find someone to direct you, after receiving keys it was not clear where my car was parked as it was handwritten with other parking information on the tag again had to ask someone, would like my car to be parked closer as i had a family with lots of luggage, the service and prices could be much better”
“Overall, very poor. Very little in the way of signage as to the quickest way into the Terminal. I also pre paid for my parking, but there was nothing to make it clear that your ticket did not need to be validated prior to leaving, which is required in some airport parking. I saw no sign of any machines, and eventually decided to just try and leave in the hope it did not need to be validated. Not what was needed when we were in a rush to leave, and it was raining.”
“I am very fussy about my car so I parked at the very top of the multi story away from other cars, I got out the car and fell straight on my bum in a deep puddle as there was either algae or maybe oil spilled under the puddle, which made me fall so I had to go through my entire flight wet!! The signs could be clearer for the car park to.”
“Got the multistoery deal with Fast Track.
The multistorey car park is begging for upgrade, there is a pile of rubbish as you get in , rusty barriers etc.
The so called deal with free fast track did not work, as the security scanner broke down and spend good 20 minutes watching clueless staff doing rounds.
I usually fly from Glasgow, and there is much better value for multistorey car patk there.”
“Drop off process was great. Friendly helpful staff on hand to keep you right. Picking up was much the same but it looked like something had been spilt on both front seats or a window left open and they got wet as they were heavily stained, crispy and smelly.
After a 12-hour overnight flight, the last thing you want to do is to wait 20 minutes for the team leader to languish down the aisle toward you and wait some more for him to half-heartedly offer to find out the employee who parked it and offer some discount vouchers for next time.
Some employee did or didn't do something they should or shouldn't have and those seats should have been professionally cleaned before we even got there or something in place for me to organise myself.”
“Short of spaces, soaked walking to terminal on arrival as no cover. Had changed cars after booking, so although prepaid, exit gate wanted £150 for one night stay. Held up traffic discussing with chap on the microphone. Ridiculous.”
“Booked the terminal parking as was travelling with elderly mother with poor mobility. Also didn’t want to be stressed looking for parking space.
In the event car park was full -after 15 mins driving around another member of the public stopped me and directed me to an overflow car park which wasn’t a 2-4 minute walk from the terminal.
Wouldn’t use this option again if parking at Edinburgh.”
“Overbooked!!!!!!
Drove round for 40 mins like many other folks trying to find a legitimate space. Countless cars on chevrons and corners, all crammed in.
Eventually had to abandon near exit and hope no one wiped my motor out!!!!
Horrendous start to holiday but thankfully car was in piece and not towed!!!!”
“Spent 30 mins trying to find a space to park. Finally got one. On leaving the car park when I entered my ticket the barrier machine wanted £270 to exit even although I had prepaid and was within the times I paid for. Member of staff via help button on barrier was excellent and she sorted it out but this should not happen. Someone else could have been tricked into paying a lot to continue their journey.
In summary 1/5 for overall experience. 5/5 for member of staff who sorted this out.”
“Great as location is seconds close to the airport..When we returned, our car key was not inserted in one of the box as our car was" low on fuel" and they could not take it to another side during our holidays.
At the exit, our bar code ticket was not recognised, and we had to fork another £4 to exit the parking charges ..
If we consider the time to took to get into our car + additional parking charges, we will have been better off on the main xsr park which is only 20 minutes walk!”
“Not impressed. Fast Park keys weren’t available on our return. Message told me to go to reception. Turns out reception is an unmarked solid door akin to a cleaners store. Had to wait 20 mins on car being delivered, at 2.30am. Then the last exit barrier wouldn’t open, demanding £4.
Had to then suss out how to speak to someone (a pay station nearby as it transpired) and had to shuttle back and forth. Eventually managed to leave the car park area roughly 35 mins after we arrived to collect our car. Not very fast. Would have been quicker waiting on a bus to a remote park. Would have saved me £20 too.
There were plenty of others in the same boat as we left the Fast Park ‘reception’.”
“Was good for access to airport and on return however on return my brakes weren't working which were fine when I dropped it off ? I understand they take pictures on arrival but that's only external. Not sure I'd use again.”
“Ticket machine on entry throws the ticket out into the wind. Means scrabbling around in the dark trying to find it. Then on exit discover that no ticket is needed because the ANPR actually works at this car park (it doesn't work at the terminal car park).
I also found it hard to squeeze bags past parked cars to get to/from the shuttle bus stops, there are no pedestrian gaps in the layout. Dragging bags over gravel too. A bit tricky to find your car on return since the car park is a big monolith with no section markers.
Parking website doesn't list all flight destinations so it might not be possible to fill in that section of the booking.
Already complained to Edinburgh Airport Parking about the ANPR and the destinations list but got no response, suspect all complaints are binned to make the numbers look good.
However the bus drivers are cheery and the shuttle service works well.”
