“All went smoothly to plan but it would be helpful if there was some method of highlighting available spaces.
Charging for the use of suitcase trolleys is unhelpful and a bit greedy in my opinion.”
“The parking facility is fine in itself and the the cost was very good, I had a 5 day stay which cost around £70....but...the lack of a post code on the booking details (at least I couldn't find one) was a pain and when you get to the airport the round-about exit to the car park only has a sign saying "COACHES" which made me ignore the exit at the first attempt. Also is is not clear from the booking details that you use the normal entrance and take a normal ticket rather than use a "dedicated" pre-paid entrance and ticket...and the guy on the intercom whom I asked for clarification when I got there was not much help...just having to saying "take a ticket" seemed to annoy him!!
Other than that, all of which could be resolved with clearer info when booking, I would recommend the service to anyone, and will use it again”
“Getting in and out was fine, but I was really annoyed to find my charging cable thrown in the back of the boot—untidy, uncovered, and not in the bag. I didn’t leave it like that, so it should have been returned properly.”
“Easy to find, plenty of parking spaces, an easy walk to the airport terminal but it annoyed me how many lazy, selfish people parked on double yellow lines within the car park just to get closer to the terminal. I only saw one car that had a note on it asking them to park within the designated areas, but at least 6 cars had done it. If they don't do something to properly deter this then people will keep doing it.”
“I found the whole parking experience very confusing. I wasn’t at all sure which car park we were supposed to park in. It does not explain that on any of the paperwork. When I tried to ring to confirm I was in the correct place it was an automated service and I could not get through to a human being. I did not enjoy the experience at all and felt anxious that we had parked in the wrong section!”
“Parking wasn’t too bad, however it was clearly overbooked as there was multiple cars having to park on illegal parking spots, making it difficult to see around and get past. Also the uneven floor is not ideal when you have a big suitcase. It was extremely difficult to get my suitcase to and from the car as the roads were so uneven the wheels are most likely damaged now because of this. It would be beneficial to have a smooth flat surface considering most people using the long stay car park will have a suitcase”
“I had pre paid for parking at the long stay site but when I was driving to the airport there was an unofficial NCP car park also marked long stay with an official sign stating ‘long stay parking’ from the main road. I almost went in assuming this was the one I had paid for. I think better instructions in the booking email about where to find the actual car park you have booked would be helpful.”
“The parking location was great, and I was happy enough with the price when I prepaid, but I was a bit shocked when I tried to leave and the machine wanted me to pay an additional £100. In fairness, I contacted an attendant, and they sorted it out, and I haven't had this problem before, but it wasn't something I wanted to deal with after a day of travelling.”
“The carpark was fine however we missed the signpost for the carpark and ended up in a terminal carpark . The attendant was lovely and redirected us however on exiting after 1 minute from entering we were charged £7 for the error . We rang for assistance which didn’t reply and the only way to get out was to pay. £7 may not be alot if money however I feel this is extremely steep when I’d already paid £31.99 for the mid stay .”
“Poor signage no clear indication of direction that on exit it is a one way system. Poor lighting around the car park. Rude and disrespectful parking staff”
“I find it very difficult to find way back to my car after returning from my travels. The signs for long stay parking extremely poor in my opinion. Should be bolder illuminated signs easy to see in bad weather conditions and for elderly. I pay a lot of money for parking I don’t want to have to walk via road puddles of water to find my car and get soaked. Bus service should be available.”
“Mostly good, however ANPR did not recognise my number plate properly so had to speak to operative at the exit gate. That said he cleared my vehicle quickly and allowed me to leave.”
“Long stay car park is very easy to find, well lit and it's a very easy walk to the terminal.
However on the last two occassions, the barrier hssn't recognised my number plate causing problems when I exit. The support staff have been great on both occassions and sorted the issue quickly but a bit annoying to have to call them.”
Hi there,
Thank you for your review.
It sounds as though our automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) system hasn't registered you upon entry. When this occurs, it means our system doesn't match you to your booking and you are then charged the roll-up rate in error upon exit and I understand the frustration that it causes.
I'm glad you managed to get it sorted at the time.
Kind regards,
Customer Support Team
