“I have used the official car park many times, it is by far the best option when departing from Edinburgh airport, removing the need to park up somewhere and get bussed in, its also reasonably priced as long as you book in advance.”
“Mid Stay is a bit of a hike from the terminal -although it was certainly less expensive than some closer options. Slightly concerned about the path to the terminal being poorly lit in places and routed behind fences and scruffy outbuildings late at night. Signage on edges of car park to terminal needs to be more visible.”
“Actual terminal parking, price and fast-track access all great. However, the entrance to the parking by road is confusing with signs to the terminal replaced with open parking at the critical point before the barrier. There is no displayed information when you pull up to the ticket machine. At most pre-paid facilities there are clear signs acknowledging your plate number and arrival and clear directions to where you should park. That said, having used the facility once, I would happily do so again.”
“The parking up is very straightforward and fantastic that it is so close to the airport. However, for the second time we had problems exiting because we had prepaid for our parking and our details had not been registered on the system. Please improve your booking system because there’s is obviously a flaw.”
“Came back to a cold rainy Edinburgh from Lanzarote at 11.00pm to find that the bridge over to the car park was closed.
This was inconvenient as we had already made our way to the bridge only to discover it had just closed.
Apart from that the service was really good and reasonably priced too.”
“All good except for the 2 idiots in front at the exit who hadn't paid and had to reverse their cars causing chaos. ! Surely has to be a safer way to exit?”
“Pre booked long stay parking and spent over 20mins looking for a space. Got lucky and found one but if airport capacity increases, parking capacity needs to as well.”
“It all went well until I went to leave just after mid night in the cold and wet. I pre booked & paid my space so was surprised to find the gate would not open when I posted the exit card and an extremely large sum was requested on the screen. I made a call and received a quick response and request for my booking reference which was in order so the gate was opened. I am assuming that, for whatever reason, the number plate recognition system failed to read my details correctly?
Regard,
Roy Wilson”
“The car park was nearly full when I got there. Luckily I was not in a hurry, but cars were abandoned all over the place. Pick up and delivery were prompt.”
“It was a stressful arrival for us at the terminal surface parking because there were no available spaces despite us having booked well in advance. There were lots of cars looking for spaces that just weren’t there. This wastes time and when you have a flight to catch creates a stressful situation. My husband had to drop off my toddler and I and keep driving around to find a space.”
“The parking is great if you can get a space! I paid for surface terminal parking, but on arrival I had to drive around for 15mins until I could get a space. Very stressful. But very convenient.”
“Plane Parking Car park was easy to find. Didn’t read my number plate so leaving was a bit of a pain when having to use the intercom. Had to walk a fair distance (3 mins) in the rain to a bus stop in another car park, but you get what you pay for! Surface water drainage in the car park was poor, lots of puddles and back of car was under water when I returned so soggy feet.”
“Parking was easy and only 5 minutes to wait on bus to airport. However a 20 minute wait for a bus on our return was unacceptable. The return bus was overcrowded and nearly impossible to retrieve our cases and alight the bus safely. Very disappointed.”
“The parking in the surface car park was fine although quite a walk as parking near terminal was full. However on our return we were furious to note that the bonnet of car had deep scratches. These won't come out. They have been caused by someone parked either in front or at side of my car placing their cases on my bonnet then dragging them down. Total morons.
Would discourage me from using the parking facilities in future.”
“It was quick to get out, however, this is a loaded question. There were not enough spaces close to the connecting bridge and had to park outside on the roof.”
