“I pre-booked a 4 day stay at the mid term car park. On exit the instructions are to insert the ticket into the barrier machine, the car registration will be recognised and the barrier lifted. In my case the registration was not recognised and the display indicated a charge of £150. I pressed the help button to speak to an attendant but the speaker system did not switch on. I then drove round the car park looking for another exit machine but there was none. On returning to the first exit I went through the same process with the same result but this time I put all my weight behind the help button operation and it clicked into life. The attendant then resolved the problem. Maintain your equipment.”
“‘Express Parking’ was more hassle than just parking the car yourself.
Can’t see the advantage (ok, a bit cheaper to book at the moment). Won’t be using it again and certainly won’t be recommending it.”

“A reminder of where to wait for bus on return would be useful - print on reverse of car key voucher perhaps ??
Instruction on where to collect car key would be useful - had a bit of a walk to portable cabin, and then a bit of a walk to find the car - all in the dark !!!
Had to phone for barrier to be opened after retrieving car.
Not the most slick of exits !!!”
“Parked in area B which is fine to get to the terminal building, you come out after your return and follow the signs for car park and end up no where near where you actually park.
Getting out the car park is a disgrace, fighting taxi drivers to exit, they pull out with no regard for anyone else then the four rows of car with 3 deep after the barrier trying to get into 1 lane. Will never use this parking again.”
“Although the car park itself was good and the price was reasonable the lack of signage at the site made us unsure if we were even in the correct place. I have since heard the same from other customers”
“a totally horrific experience , when leaving the airport my ticket wasnt valid for the term i paid for and i had to abandon my car and try and find an impossible to find office to rectify the error of telling me i owed £150 ..a complete and utter joke , it was compounded by a complete idiot whos advice was to return to my car and talk to him through the microphone , a total moronic suggestion , a senior colleague intervened and produced a ticket for my exit in about 15 seconds ...he is exempt from any critiscism , a totally unacceptable experience i would not wish on anyone”
“First thing that was wrong were yellow signs for Express long term car park were not there On speaking to a staff member they said they had dispensed with them but they were still shown on your website. On my return from my holiday at 10.00pm in the rain I gave my ticket to the person inside the booth. He explained where my car was and that was easy but he failed to give me a ticket to get out of the car park. I had to speak to someone at the Barrier and by that time I was cold wet and not at all happy. I was eventually allowed through the barrier but this makes me think twice about using your car park in future.”
“When I went to get my car back, having paid for a week's parking in advance, the machine said I owed £280! I had to go and sort it out at the office and there was no problem, but this was not what I wanted to happen at the end of the holiday when I was already tired and just wanted to get home - needs a rethink”
“Recently, the Long Stay Car Park was full. Most recently, the system did not recognise my number plate and so I was charged for the full period again, after already having pre-paid. Edinburgh Airport needs to sort its parking...”
“Easy to find a space when leaving the car.
Returned after the holiday to find two red dents in passenger door. Thanks to whoever did that.
In hindsight wish I had left the car at home at got a taxi. Would have been cheaper in the long run”
“Single bus transferring from long stay to terminal on Sunday 5th August meant long queue and delay in return to car. Not improved by driver sarcasm and inefficiency - bus left with empty seats at back because he could not be bothered to check properly. Long delays in existing airport because long stay park at end of entry/exit road bottleneck.”
