“Hard to find the actual parking having used and been through edinburgh airport lots of times. Not clearly labelled terminal long stay and ended up parking in the car park long stay instead with the card not working.
Managed to resolve via help Button however found the distance a lot longer”
“Drop off & pick up all very smooth & easy,
It was only after arriving home we noticed the dent above the rear wheel arch....very disappointing considering the overall cost”
“Too Expensive - You can get much cheaper parking nearby - and this is not really that close requiring a good walk to the terminal - Luckily it was not raining. Would not use again because of the cost. The ticket machine had run out of tickets requiring my negotiation with the parking attendant (friendly to be fair).
"Out of 5, how satisfied were you with the overall appearance of the car park?" - Really!”
“Expensive and unclear. Poor signage, so the walkway to the terminal is hard to find. There were no instructions for exiting the barrier. There was also another long stay car park indicated on the way to the airport from the main road, but fortunately the instructions said clearly to drive past the Double Tree hotel to get to this car park.”
“No shuttle bus now so we had a 15-20 mins walk , thankfully it was not raining. Poor signage on leaving the terminal almost resulting in a wrong turn. Will think twice about using the long stay parking in the future .”
“I encountered problems when entering with no number plate recognition. Valid ticket issued once booking confirmed by voice contact. On exit ticket issued required payment of £446, which was nullified once booking reference again confirmed by voice contact.”
“We were late due to baggage handlers delay - by one and a half hours waiting for luggage . Our luggage from the Corfu flight was taken off quick enough as I saw this while sitting on the plane but must have been put aside ???
Therefore we were charged an extra £15 at parking due to this which is unacceptable as it was out of our control. I look forward to hearing from you - Stephen Cumming TUI flight corfu to Edinburgh. Friday 17th June .”
“I paid for the 6 days parking at £69.99 but on the last day our flight was delayed by 2 hours so instead of getting in at 23.30 we got in at 01.45am, I went to check if I needed to pay more at the payment and it charged me £90 pounds 😡 looking for a refund as I couldn't contact anyone then and had a 3 hour drive home”
“Our flight was cancelled so we ended up home a day late. We had no way of contacting someone to get advice on what we should do as my son was going to collect the car for us but we had the ticket on holiday with us. We ended up having to leave it in the car park and came home to a £90 bill on top of what we had already paid. The person on the other end of the service button in the car park was no help at all and just told us it needed to be paid.”
“Entrance and exit routines ok but poorly lit and poor road surface for walking route. It was also very difficult to find a space to park. Could not find how to get to walking route in first place. It felt very unsafe. No clear signage for car parks coming back . Very dirty and unprofessional looking.”
“I recently paid extra for the multistorey car park so that we could use fast track security. After getting all the way from the car and down the elevated walkway we go to the door to find that it was locked. No-one to be seen and no signs saying why it was closed. So then we had to walk all the way back round to normal security making the whole experience less convenient than the surface parking despite being more expensive. People will be much more understanding about these problems if someone took 2 minutes to explain the situation with a sign somewhere that stops them walking 10 minutes out of their way. Also should be easy enough to send an email to people that have booked parking to say that they wont have access to what they have paid for (and ideally give a refund)”
“The surface car park is very convenient for the airport. However, my return flight was cancelled so I had to change flight and in turn this flight was delayed. This resulted in my arriving back at Edinburgh airport 5 hours later than anticipated. I was charged £18 for the extra time, having already paid £39 to park for 13 hours. The person on the barrier was not willing to take my circumstances into account so I had to pay. When paying I did not receive a receipt. Not a great experience at all.”
“Perfect location for a quick getaway However read the small print, Flight delayed 2 hours and hit with an £18 charge for being 2 hours late. And yes I did include time for getting off the flight and through security. That is why their on the day parking is sooo expensive but it is what they will charge you once you at 10 plus minutes late.”
“Our plane arrived on time and we got to our car with hardly any delay. But on leaving we followed the arrows and got a ticket which we produced at the next barrier. It then asked us for a further £4.
How do I get this refunded?”
“Very expensive - overpriced. Road signs on the approach are confusing - not clear on where to go. Fast park is a waste of space takes up half of the old terminal Parking area and no one appears to be using it.
Not enough Disabled Parking spaces provided - spent ages looking for an empty space. Pre Booked ticket did not work - spent 15 minutes trying to sort out with ticket office at midnight explaining I had pre booked and paid. Eventually sorted.
No other option but to use it.”
“Pre booked for mid stay car park, when we got there we must have driven round 3 times, not a single space. We then drove to long stay and spoke to the person on the speaker and he did let us park after taking a while to find our booking. When it was time to leave, we had £120 price ticket, which took a while to sort out, with a fairly big queue created as there was only one barrier working.”
