“We had been informed that there had been an incident which closed the exit from the long stay car park, and that we would have to walk when we exited the airport there was no one directing us where to go, we walked around and around lugging 40kg of luggage, we eventually found someone who directed us to the mid stay car park, then when we eventually got out the car park, we were then directed again to find the convoy to escort us onto a runway, again this was a problem as it was dark and he did not make himself very clear to us where he was as he was sitting in his vehicle! I appreciate the severity of the situation but it was very poorly managed regarding re direction, both verbally and direction signs”
“You sent sms on 10/6 to remind us ,ref 3750367 but at 5am the entrance was closed so we had to search for member of staff and were told to use parking next door instead. We wasted time we did not have!
Return 13/06 at23hrs,Hector wind and pouring with rain, no bus.We walked to car park to hear from the policeman about accident, had to walk back to terminal and were told by armed policeman to walk back to car park and look for the staff there.Nobody told us!”
“Reg. recognition failed and read number plate P31 as P3I so mixed the number one up with the letter I. Despite the ticket that was printed showing it as a number one. Driver had to pay £55 to leave carpark despite pre-paying online £45.99”
“No spaces when I arrived. I had to then drive to the multi storey entrance and press the buzzer for help. Eventually, I get an answer, by which time, five other cars had pulled in behind me. The answer “you will need to reverse and find somewhere in R and S.” It took about 10 minutes to do this as I (the paying customer) had to get out of my car and persuade the other drivers to reverse first. This was highly stressful and highly dangerous. It should have been made clear at the entrance where spaces were available. There were numerous other drivers all circling the car park looking for none existent spaces.”
“Well first of all, I paid in advance for my long stay parking as I had no other alternative due to an early flight. I was only due to park for 16 hours and much to my disgust, I was faced with an astounding £24.99 charge. Although, as previously mentioned I had no other alternative than to pay it due to an extremely important business meeting. My experience in the morning was fine. But. On return to a very tiring, stressful, long and sweaty day I was frustrated to find that my flight at London City Airport had been delayed by over 2 hours. Now I know this has nothing to do with yourselves but it obviously meant I arrived at Edinburgh Airport 2 hours late. This was not my fault. Furthermore, after arriving in Edinburgh I was already flustered and traumatised from my 20+ hour working day and eventually I could feel some form of relaxation when I returned to my car. No. This was not the case as when I presented my card at the exit barriers I was faced with a ridiculous and unnecessary £3!!!!!!!!!!!! Charge for being late due to my delayed flight which once again, I COULD NOT CONTROL. This meant I had to reverse back into the car park which I felt as though was extremely dangerous as I’m sure you’re away is a one way street. I eventually found a pay machine and had to use my debit card to pay for an absurd extra charge. Do you not think Edinburgh Airport Parking Long Stay would be reasonable enough to allow for small delays to flights which are out with innocent people’s control like myself. It seems as if not all thieves and criminals wear masks and SWAG bags. Next time I am forced to use the long stay parking at Edinburgh airport I will make sure I pick the pound coins from my money tree the night before. Never again. Thank you for a distressing time.”
“The parking I booked was not a 'flex' booking, although I didn't know that until I tried to cancel it. Your website does not make it clear when things are flex or not. Its the same colour, and unless you know what to look for its not easy, especially for those of us who are used to the 'old ' website where there was no such thing as flex and the overall look at feel is no different.”
“Absolutely useless. I use Airport Parking nearly every month. I have a flight tomorrow morning - but your website says 'sorry no products' - yet you say you can book up to 2 hours before travel?? Come on are you really saying there is no parking in Long Stay, Mid Stay, Terminal and Multi-storey Parking. Sort it out - not good enough for Scotland's busiest airport.”
“Pre-booked my stay for a week at the multi-storey car park and paid via creditcard. Once I tried to exit the car park I was still charged another 364£ at the exit gate, so in total I paid almost 500£ for a week stay. Sent an email complaint which has not been replied to.
Do not recommend.”
“There were no spaces when we arrived at the time we were booked to arrive we drove round for more than 20 minutes but couldn't find a proper parking space we had to leave our car in a space with lines over it and made sure we were not causing an obstruction we couldn't find anyone to ask for help all very stressful.”
“The car park layout changed during our holiday and the area were we parked our car was now blocked off. The only access we could find was showing as a staff ID/secure area footpath. Staff were unhelpful when pressing for assistance through the intercom and basically said it was impossible for us to have parked there and that nothing had changed. After around an hour and a half, we got help from some Menzies staff finishing their shift and managed to get to our car and left through a non secure exit meaning that basically anyone could have got to our car.”
“Very annoying when you have pre paid your ticket, but you go to validate your ticket on your return and it says you owe X amount. You remove ticket and have drive to barrier then oress call button for them to lift it. I did this on 07/06/18 and took them 10 mins to answer. Huge queue of traffic behind be who were all boxed in. Why does sometimes work and sometimes not when pre paid?”
“I always highly rated Edinburgh airport Valet Parking and always recommended it to others. Now it has gone! Unfortunately I cannot see how I can use Edinburgh airport parking services again. The multi-storey and surface parking prices are ridiculously expensive. Your new "valet" service is 7 minutes from the terminal, with a wait for the bus. I used the old valet service because I didn't have to wait for a bus when I arrived from abroad on a cold October night. If I use another operator I see their bus only takes 3 minutes to get to and from, and cheaper. Sorry Edinburgh, very poor. I am afraid you have lost me as a customer.”
“My car was scratched while it was parked, I realise it is a business, but I think the spaces are too narrow for modern vehicles. I also had a very strange experience trying to exit the car park. Upon putting my ticket in the exit barrier it told me that I owed over £530 in fees. As I had prebooked the parking this was an impossible amount. I had to return to the office in the multi storey park to sort it. Needless to say I was not best pleased with the delay on top of the damage to my car.”
“Parked at Mid-Stay for 4 days - over £50 was very expensive!
There were abandoned trolleys everywhere, some scraping against parked cars.
Four days later we returned to see that all the trolleys were still there, none had been collected. One car had clearly been scraped by the abandoned trolley.
Come on Edinburgh Airport, when you charge so much, you should provide a much better parking experience!”
“Parking in the onsite car parks is grossly over-priced - a complete rip off. Also my flight arrived 17hr late. I had prepaid the parking but was charged an extra £50 to get out of the car park. Picking people up can rarely be accomplished for less than £10.
Park somewhere else if you can”
“Driving around for ages looking for a free slot, eventually asked someone who had just arrived if he was taking his car away......by dropping in as he left was only way I got a space
I was not alone driving round in circles
If pre-booking as I did their SHOULD be a slot available”
