“Used fast park which wasn’t so fast as we missed the entrance to it, had to wait five minutes to let us out of the surface car park. Then when we did figure where entrance was we had to figure out how to drop the keys off. I’ve had quicker(cheaper) experience just parking on surface car park which I will just do next time. Fast park was more expensive but not faster or more convenient.”
“No shuttle bus in use on arrival sign said and no prior notice of this received via email etc.
Used long stay parking numerous times, unfortunately this time on arrival back to Edinburgh, on approaching the barrier and placing ticket in machine, display requested a payment of £140 !!!
After pressing the assistance button, I gave the operator my Reg No and he checked the pre online booking, then asked me to remove my ticket and the barrier went up.
The operator was helpful but didn't give any explanation as to why it happened or apologised.”
“Arriving back at Edinburgh at 2am in pitch dark and when your not local it’s very poorly signed how to find long stay car park then on trying to exit car park our registration was not recognised we couldn’t exit without assistant even though we had pre booked & paid all which we could have done without at almost 3am in cold & rain .”
“Long-term parking. Expensive, a hell of a walk in the cold, and difficult to find car. What you expect from an airport. Obdurancy. Make it easier and make it value.”
“Spent 40 minutes driving around carpark trying to find a space. No way to contact staff by phone, had to abandon my car and speak staff in terminal to be advised there was an overflow cardpark. Only sign is when your leaving the carpark - this has to be addressed.”
“I have used Edinburgh Airport FastPark before. It is convenient and close to the airport terminal, although very pricey for what it is. This time, due to an issue with my vehicle, I had to travel to Edinburgh airport in a different car. It should be easier to change the vehicle registration in the event something like this happens - I had to cancel my booking and create a new one, when all that needed changing was the vehicle registration for ANPR purposes really. This should definitely be looked in to.”
“I parked at Edinburgh for £55 for 4 days. Driving in was quite confusing but I drove up to the barrier where I was presented with a ticket with my car registration on it which was what the email instructions said would happen. I found a space and parked and proceeded over to the bus stop. There were signs stating no buses and that I would have to walk to the terminal. Its not that far but I was carrying a heavy bag and it was not clear where the terminal was, what I mean is I was worried I would not find an exit through the fence and with carrying a heavy bag this was a bit cumbersome. I was more annoyed on my return as I saw the car parking bus outside the terminal so got on the bus and attempted to show the driver my parking ticket but he said he did not require to see it. So the bus left and drove to the very back of the car park, I now realise that this was perhaps short stay and drove past my area which may have been infact long stay. The driver made two stops but couldnt let me off as he was only allowed to stop at those two stops and back at the terminal. He was a very pleasant driver and soon realised that I was parked in a different area, so back to the terminal it was where I got off only to walk back to my car, carrying my heavy bag again. I drove to the barrier to present my pre paid ticket and then nearly had a heart attack as it stated I would need to pay £120. I asked fro assistance and explained I had pre paid £55 for my parking. I gave my car reg and name and then praise God the barrier lifted and I was able to exit. I got a real fright though especially after an obnoxious flight with Ryanair and fatigued with carrying my heavy bag. If the bus is not part of the parking service I think it should say so at the time of booking. The car park is situated not too far from the actual airport but I do think signage is confusing.”
“Please reinstate courtesy bus. Trying to find car park at nearly midnight was difficult. No straight walk with trolley because of inconsiderate parking and abandoned cars. Road marking need to be done to prevent this and fines if parked not in a parking space”
“This was the first time I used the valet parking, it was great when I dropped off the car but found it difficult in getting my key when I returned from holiday, If it had not been for another passenger who had used the service before I wouldn't have known how to get my key back as there was no attendant on site.”
“Parking easy, not far to terminal. However on my return at 10pm due to poor lighting and lack of proper pavement in long stay I tripped up a kerb. This resulted in a cut on my knee along with some grazes and bruising on my hand.”
“The parking is very expensive relative to other airports. I arrived and departed in wet weather and my walking route was affected by many pools of water through gateways I had to walk through.”
“On exit was going to be charged again for stay , but the man on the answer machined resolved the situation very quickly , would not be very pleasant for an elderly couple or a nervous person”
“The parking is not too difficult to find on the way into the airport, however, it is really badly sign posted for the way out (especially at night). There needs to be signage to say walk past the taxi rank.
Also, as there was a lack of spaces nearby the airport, people had just 'dumped' their cars on speed bumps, corners etc instead of finding a space further away.”
“The car parking is very handy and easy to book. However the last couple of times I've been it's been very difficult to find a space as it's so busy. I found one eventually but some better system is needed at busy times. Also the system has not recognised my pre booking on exit the last 3 times which causes delays when trying to get home.”
