“I followed the signs up the old entrance to Plane Parking but thought the entrance was blocked off. When I booked Plane Parking before this entrance blocked off because it was full and I had to park in the first long stay carpark After speaking to a member of staff at the first carpark they told me that the Plane Parking was further down the road. To be fair there were lots of signs but maybe a small one in front of the old Plane Parking entrance would help. The road further down looks like it's for staff only.
The bus was very efficient. It was the most I've ever paid for Edinburgh Airport parking but it was a bit cheaper than the other carparks and refundable.”
“All was good on the way in however on the way out inserted my ticket and the machine said I had to pay £260 spoke to the advisor and after 5 minutes a very rude advisor told me I could go felt like I upset his tea break or something.”
“Parking was OK but directions in the dark to the terminal are not great, nor are the Exit signs from the car Park on departure . Also on exit we were asked for £176 approx to leave having paid in full previously. It is not easy in the dark to find the button to press to get voice assistance to lift the barrier.”
“Everything fine until I tried to leave. Put ticket in machine and it wanted to charge me £180! Think my number plate had not been recognised? However chap at end of call button very helpful. Checked and opened barrier. NPR needs checked or some way so driver gets confirmation all is well?”
“Included in the price is free bus transfer. This was not available on our arrival or departure. Customers should receive compensation for poor service.”
“All went well until leaving the car park. The barrier didn't lift as expected and inserting our ticket showed a price of £180 to be paid. We pre-booked for £60. However, the person on the help button was very helpful in locating our booking and letting us out.”
“Parking itself was easy but I found check in a little confusing, fortunately there was someone on hand to give me some help. Collecting our car keys on arrival back at the airport was very easy and we found the car in designated space but the car had been left unlocked. Not sure if there was a reason for this or if this was an oversight. I realise that this is a secure car park but there were personal items inside my car requiring it to be safely locked.”
“Car park is a bit of a walk from the airport when you are pushing a trolley with cases on. They also overcharged me by £16.50 even though I had paid up to 7.00 pm on the day we returned”
“The decision to do away with courtesy buses from mid/long stay airport car parks is a big mistake - presumably as a “left over” from COVID protocols. The walk - uncovered for most of the way - makes the journey to and from departures/arrivals challenging and isn’t the start/end to holidays that customers need. Those initial and last feelings reflect negatively on Edinburgh Airport.”
“My flight from Brussels was cancelled due to striking security staff so I returned home one day later than scheduled, I was more concerned about how to get home (eventually spending fifteen hours using UK and overseas train system) than I was extending my parking time, however , this came at a significant cost…. I was informed my additional day parking would cost £60, I paid £55 for four days so you can imagine my disappointment. The chap at office seemed genuinely concerned and offered a reduced charge to let me leave car park…. Be warned - make sure you extend your parking time if running late..….”
“Main car park was full. Had to find someone who advised to use the overflow car park at other end of airport. Would be helpful if you added this info on email confirmation”
“I was parked in the Long Term car park and could not find any space before K4. I am fortunately able-bodied but if a person has any kind of mobility issue, this would be a nightmare walk, particularly as there is not a clear walkway for much of the car park.
In addition, if it was raining it would be quite unpleasant.
Maybe I didn't read your website closely enough but this car park feels like it's from the 70's.
Waiting nearly 25 minutes to get through security on a Sunday morning also seemed like a very long time.”
