But on getting there could not find the relevant car park with the number plate recognition system.
Staff were helpful and suggested we could stay where we were, as that would be easier now - and took reference number.
And they would let us out later by using intercom system . Which they did.
But as we were in a much cheaper car park further away feel we should get a refund.
This is our first visit to this airport and the direction signs to the pre- booked camera recognition entrance were not clear at all.”
“'Surface terminal' car park very convenient and reasonably good value BUT busy so can drive round and round and round waiting to find a space? This can be VERY stressful when pushed for time to check in.
Why don't they have staff on duty all the time to guide drivers to vacant slots and help avoid disputes between drivers over 'rights' to spaces.”
“I chose surface parking on site even though it is more expensive than off-site long stay, as it is within walking distance of the terminal. I prepaid on-line. On seeking to exit on my return , the barrier would not lift and a difficult to read message on the ticket machine demanded an extra £47. There is no obvious call button on the machine so after pressing them all a surly staff member answered , asked for my booking number which fortunately I had printed out and then without apology or explanation said 'right take your ticket out' and lifted the barrier. I see that others on this review site were also told to pay more at exit. If I had returned at night i would not have been able to read the message or easily find or read my booking reference. Customer service has got to improve before I would choose Edinburgh Airport Parking again”
“Parking cannot make you happy but it was at least painless with busses running on time and regularly, Car Park was full and so i parked out of a bay which was no good if insurance came to play with a claim for damage but there was nothing free space wise.”
“Unhappy: Arriving at the airport at 6am and never having been before but having prebooked for the outdoor carpark in front of the terminal i found the signage confusing. There seemed to be no barrier or ability to take a ticket.
Happy: When I returned yesterday to leave I got to the barrier and explained that I had pre booked but failed to get a ticket the person on the microphone was very helpful and the barrier was promptly raised.”
“I pre paid to park at the "surface " car park.
Very stressful driving round and round trying to locate a parking space.
Eventually contacted desk at multi storey car park , I was then given an upgrade to park in the multi”
“The price was very reasonable however the parking was so far away the shuttle bus did not stop in the car park. We had to walk to the long stay car park with our suitcases. On our return I placed my ticket in the machine which then informed me that I owed £115. To be fair the helpful attendant remedied the situation and opened the gate for me.”
“Using the long term park at Edinburgh is a joke. The bus stop is so far away you would be as well just walking to the car park Surly ignorant drivers. Never again”
“It works. Parking spaces are tight, and generally difficult to find a free space except right at the back. Bus service to Terminal is slow - it is quicker to walk (without a bag). Bus driver refused to let me on with a hot drink.”
