“I used the terminal surface car park for a weekend away, it cost considerably more than getting a taxi there and back but on this occasion it was more convenient to have the car there when I got back. I think the parking is over-priced but there were very few spaces so I guess on a supply & demand basis they must have got it about right!”
“The parking itself is fine. Exiting the multi storey car parking area can be difficult as the traffic/buses/taxis/those exiting the surface car park all back up. Edinburgh Airport desperately needs to invest more in the surrounding infrastructure to help traffic clear.”
“Not sure which made me happiest - the fairly tight parking space or the fairly steep prices.
The price paid on an earlier visit when picking up my wife was unreasonable , I believe it was in the order of £14 for an hour and a half . The hour and a half was due to the lengthy wait to retrieve baggage ( 1 hr and 20 minutes from touchdown to leaving arrivals).”
“The booking and parking was straightforward. However on returning to the vehicle I noted it had been hit on the front bumper with possibly a trolley and also someone had opened the rear cover (It's a pick up) to see if there was anything inside. Won't be using that parking again”
“We prefer to park our own car and leave it in a safe and secure car park. This location enabled us to do this within a 2 minute walk of the terminal building. PERFECT!
Just watch out for the exit barriers though - we had to reverse and move to an adjacent barrier because the car in front of us hadn't paid their ticket! We didn't noticed the cement block dividing the barriers and did substantial damage to the side of our car. NOT PERFECT!”
“Not quite happy with the size of the parking space,they are very small IMO. Also the pricing for this service is very expensive and has increased by 52% from the same date/ times as the previous year, and this was a "Flash Sale". There is also not outlet on the website to get in contact with the group who actually set the prices. Using the "contact us" facility returns an answer of " We don't set the prices" but also agree that the pricing is all over the place and advise to keep an eye out and book when the price drops? On a plus, the site is conveniently situated next to the terminal building with only a short walk to bag drops.”
“Easy entrance and plenty or parking with short distance to walk to terminals however this is the second time when I have left that despite paying in advance they try and charge a few hundred on leaving. Each time it is resolved by calling however not the smooth easy exit you would want.”
“Long stay is alright, no more than that. The airport in general is a disaster and I will make any attempt I can to avoid using it. Parking charges are absurdly high. Security is a total disgrace. Forcing people to buy Fasttrack so that they make their flight may strike management as a money making wheeze, but it is the road to ruin.”
“Paid in advance on the internet everything ok until we came to come out of car park put ticket in and it said we owed £450 pressed the button and spoke to gentleman and it was quickly sorted but we had people behind us waiting to get out don't know if we will use airport parking again”
“First time using ground terminal parking. I booked and paid in advance online. On arrival I took wrong turning, as per sat nav and lack of signage, ended up in the drop off area and had to press button on exit barrier machine to explain I had come wrong way or £1 would be due to open barrier. Nice man opened barrier for me. Then I found the terminal parking only because I stopped and asked someone where to go... poor signage with so many vehicles everywhere and very very busy with other taxi and car activity everywhere. Found the car park then took over 20 mins to find a space which I was not happy about. When exiting the car park within our allocated time, the machine told me I was owe an additional £14.00. Had to press button on machine and talk to a man who searched for my booking on his computer and said it is fine I shall open barrier for you, he said a camera must have wrongly photographed my car, hence computer error. So all said the terminal ground car park is a good location considering I had a large case and 6yo with me and my 81yo mother, but the system itself is poor and quite stressful. I will look for alternative parking next time.”
