“Booked in advance and paid for Monday to Friday which saved about £100. After returning and a delayed flight, was asked for £165. Thankfully chap at reception sorted it out saying that it was happening with all prepaid tickets. Not what you want after a delayed flight and almost midnight.”
“Difficult to navigate due to poor signage.
As a result, I found myself driving through the drop-off area. Having NO WAY to get out, due to the one way system, I was FORCED to pay for the privilege. This needs addressed since I’m sure I’m not the first.”
“Pre-booking not recognised on leaving the car park. Machine stated £300.00 plus was payable. Hard to find the assistance button as machine poorly lit. This is the second time this has happened. Not good after a tiring journey. Computers need sorting out.”
“The information, after the pre-paid booking was undertaken, seemed to make the process seem easy but that turned out not to be the case. I was advised that automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) would kick in at the entrance, and I would be issued with a ticket and drive to a space. However, I had to request a ticket, which in fairness had my car number on it. Despite customer reviews mentioning that they just jumped on a bus, this service has been removed, not ideal on a freezing cold morning. The problem on return was, I put in my issued ticked to get out and was asked for a payment of £120. As I had already paid in advance this was not acceptable. I was also advised that ANPR would just let me out. I had to negotiate with an attendant to be released from the car park. Not a great automatic service!”
“Good parking but spoiled on my last 2 visits by barrier not rising unless you pay hundreds of pounds. Resolved by speaking to attendant via intercom but a fright and inconvenience none the less. Would give 5 stars if this could be resolved.”
“All was good till we tried to get out of the car park the barrier didn’t recognise our registration number so do not lift someone came and gave us a ticket to get out the last barrier but still didn’t lift told us we had to pay £4 !!!
Had to get someone again to let us out .
So a bit disappointed.”
“The barrier worked on the way out of the multi storey car park for the first time in months which has to be a good thing, Edinburgh airport however continues to be a tragic experience every week.”
“The Mid-Stay Car park not too busy and parking easy.
There is a problem with the exit layout from the Mid-Stay car park with a too tight radius after the barrier and high kerb. Need to be very careful to avoid scraping wheels.”
“When we got to the barrier when leaving it would not let us out unless we paid £220. I contacted the attendant who raised the barrier but it was not tne experience you need at the end of a holiday.”
“For the second trip in a row, the prepaid parking hasn't worked, system tried to charge me an additional £50 and £90 on departure. Same for many other users leaving at same time. Resolved using the assistance but took several minutes for a response and very difficult to hear. Colleague had the same issue.”
“Very convenient for terminal but poor signage when entering Multi Storey Car Park led to us having to circle back round again to gain entry.
Fast Track Security included in price wasn't worth it as the Fast Track lane was completely disorganised, merging with other queue before getting to loading area where there was a lack of trays causing further delay.”
“The key feedback I have is surrounding the fast track experience.
I arrived with my 4 year old son at 5 am. When walking from the car park, you arrived at security from the right hand side directly to the fast track desk opposite the normal fast track queue. People queuing on the other side (mostly flying attendants) made comments to say the queue is in the other side which wasn’t pleasant and confused me. I then asked the desk, if I was meant to walk against the queue to queue at the far back (from the normal entrance) and his first question was, are you fast track. I was then thinking can you be anything else coming from that side. I assume not. He then said he will let me in, there was only a dozen (but you cannot see the start of the queue from there), and I don’t mind queuing, so it wasn’t such a big deal. What I didn’t like, is the perception that we were jumping the queue which wasn’t the case. I think those 2 queues needs clearly decoupled. So in the end, not the end of the world, but not quite the premium experience which I though would be useful for you to know as I don’t normally bother with feedbacks.”
“Despite pre-paying the parking which all went well, the barrier on exit failed to recognse this and tried to charge a significant amount. It was resolved quickly and efficiently when the attendant was contacted.”
“The car park itself was handy, it was a short distance to the airport. However, the post code for the car park is incorrect and takes you through the section for drop off only and you get charged £4. This seems to be quite convenient for Edinburgh airport as they are receiving £4 extra for each car that follows their sat nav. Unless you knew the area, you will be stung by this. It's quite disgusting that you are conning people.”
“Difficult to find a bay. Also shocked to be presented with a bill for £270.00 on exit, which was obviously a mistake but not what you expect at 12.45a.m.”
“The terminal car park is easy to access and is close to the terminal. However my one big complaint is that I have now, twice, booked and paid online, but both times on exit I've been charged for the time I've been parked, this has been quickly resolved by calling the attendant, but shouldn't be happening with ANPR!”
