“Edinburgh Airport was easy to book online. However access can be problematic on the day, if there's an event at Ingleston. We weren't aware that the preperations for the Royal Highland Show had started and were surprised to come across a huge tailback of traffic BEFORE 5am! This caused a substantial delay in entering the car park and the fast track security entrance wasn't that obvious when parked and feeling under pressure. Due to this combination we almost missed our flight. I feel that it would be beneficial for Edinburgh Airport Parking to highlight to customers that there may be delays when they are aware of an event taking place. On return, when reaching the exit we entered our ticket only for the machine to ask for a payment of £80! Thankfully there wasn't a queue of vehicles behind us and a quick chat with the control room had the matter sorted.”
“When we arrived at 1230 on 9th June and drove into the multi story CP the immediate reaction was how unkempt it has become, there was litter in abundance on the entry & around level one, on return on 0145 on 17th June it appeared that the same rubbish was there, it’s not an inviting first impression, but overall the parking did exactly as it says on the tin, its convenient for the terminal if too pricy just to park a car”
“Normally I'd give you 5 stars but this morning I struggled to find an empty space despite having prebooked. I was about to give up and go to the longstay when I spotted someone leaving. I had assumed that you don't give out more tickets than there are spaces. Lots of cars were parked on hatched lines and along the edge of the roads as there weren't enough spaces.”
“Going in was fine, coming out- not so. Flight was delayed and so was luggage so ended up getting to fast park later than expected but well within the 2hr slot. Then the key locker malfunctioned however 2 very helpful staff dealt very well with a lot of very grumpy customers. I then collect my ticket for leaving and it tries to charge me £7:00…had to contact the man in the box to raise the barrier. I will use again but hopefully none of these issues arise again.”
“Parking was very expensive and there were very few spaces when I arrived to park.
The Terminal car park was very convenient and there were information on the website was very helpful.”
“Pre booked parking from mon-Friday for £34.99 I’d never left my car before at an airport so wasn’t sure what I had to do. On arrival a grumpy voice said take a ticket after I had pressed the button to check because I paid in advance. On return flight it was late to land but I had allowed an extra 2 hours for this, put ticket into machine to exit plane parking and ticket said I owed £150, I pressed button to speak to adviser who sounded like the same grumpy voice on the Monday. I proceeded to give all my details and informed him I still had 2 hours on my parking left, he then said take ticket out and opened up barrier for us, no sorry or don’t know what happened. Don’t think I would use this parking system next time”
“2nd time of using parking in the kast few weeks, first time 5 stars, this time everything going smoothly till it came time to leave. booked parking (Terminal at cost of £121 ) for aweek whilst away on holiday. Arrived back and quick walk from reminal to car. Packed cases and proceeded to gate. Horror time-- excess if £455!!. Tried again same horror. Went to gate at side and tried again , had found my email confirmation by that time. Pressed the help and voice at other end queried my problem, confirmed that ticket in machine and opened the gate, no explanation! With my blood pressure now raised and a 180 mile trip ahead not the best experience. Will I use it again , maybe or book flights from another airport. Time will tell. Airport flight determine where I park so Glasgow or Aberdeen flight to look at first before I make up my mind.”
“The car park is fine. The automatic number plate recognition, not so much. I paid £51 for my parking and it wanted another £220 when I got back. It was soon fixed over the intercom, but as airports tend to attract people without native language skills, if your English is less than perfect, you may want to use a different car park, with face to face interaction like the Fast Park one.”
“having pre booked we arrived at barrier and it wouldnt issue ticket , so i pressed intercom to which a man replied keep pressing for a ticket , eventually one appeared, on exiting we were asked to pay 180 pounds , i couldnt get intercom yo work so moved to another barrier with an intercom and then spelt our registration number out to the man who opened the barrier and let us go . i think the glasgow system is more efficient . thanks”
“Use the long stay most of the time. Always pre book. It usually comes up as cheapest option. Short walk and usually able to find a space no problem. Only reason I have marked down the stars is because 9 times out of 10, on the way out we have to press the button to speak to someone because it doesn't recognise number plate. Which is very annoying.”
“The Long stay car park is a regular with me as i travel frequently and prefer to park here as I know the car park and its layout well. There were few spaces left available and as I was delayed by traffic near the approach to the airport, this put me under pressure to find a space. There were cars parked on double yellow lines in a number of places. On my previous visit I was however unable to leave the car park due to my inputting the incorrect time for my departure, 10am was the time i accidently listed instead of 10pm. I was told I was required to pay over £100 before i could leave. I negotiated this however, late at night as a single female traveller left me vulnerable, and frustrated as i use the car park alot, and I would expect them to have my car on file and recognise my error. I am now seeking to book again and would like to use this car park but am actively seeking a different location due to this and the current quote which is higher than the mid stay car park. Such a shame.”
“Fine parking, however the ticket machine never works on the way out, used this carpark quite a few times and every time you need to buzz to get out because the machine can’t read your ticket properly, on this last occasion I sat for a good 5 minutes waiting for somebody to answer. Same problem for the car at the other gate”
“We parked at the “Plane Carpark” which is a good bit away from the terminal, not walking distance but there is a bus service. We arrived home after midnight and waited over 20 mins for the bus to collect us. We heard the driver talking to another passenger who told him they only had one bus running which was a hybrid bus which needs charged up. This was the cheapest car park option for us but have learned a lesson and will gladly pay extra for somewhere closer.”
“Second time I’ve tried to leave the mid stay car park and my plate hasn’t been recognised and I’ve been asked to pay an extortionate amount.
3* as this was resolved really quickly using the intercom (even at 11pm on a Sunday).
It’s also outrageous you now have to pay to use a luggage trolley.”
