“I had a very disappointing experience at Edinburgh Airport Mid Stay Parking.
After leaving my car in the car park for 9 days, I returned late on a Saturday evening to find that my battery was completely flat. The first thing I did was contact the parking staff via the intercom and ask for assistance. Unfortunately, I was told that they could not help, that they had neither a jump starter nor jump leads available, and that I should arrange my own recovery service.
I spent over an hour calling numerous recovery companies, but none had drivers available at that time. Eventually, I had to take a taxi to Asda to buy jump leads myself. Even then, the problems continued, as nobody was willing to help by providing a jump start from their vehicle. After nearly three hours of waiting and searching, I finally found someone kind enough to help me start the car.
I find it unbelievable that a major airport car park handling thousands of vehicles does not have a basic jump starter or a vehicle equipped to assist customers with a flat battery. Being left stranded late at night with no practical support from the car park staff is simply unacceptable.
I would not recommend this parking facility and will seriously consider alternative parking options in the future.”
“We will not use Plane Parking again as we arrived at night and could not see any signage showing us where we were meant to be picked up, had to wave bus down outside.
Coming back although we didn't wait long for the bus we were told by the driver on arriving at car park after passing 1st of only 2 shuttle stops that we gad to get off at the 2nd further away stop. We politely asked if he could drop us off at the exit but were refused meaning my 74 year old mother and I had a long walk to find our car. Not happy.”
“Used Plane Parking in Red zone & it was very good…The only down side was that we had to stand in bus shelter for 20 minutes upon our return waiting for bus - NO seats available in shelter- why?”
“So easy to book online with Edinburgh Airport - Car park was easy to find & luckily found a space near the exit to the airport - No issues coming or going”
“We stayed overnight in Edinburgh prior to parking our car. There were no directions provided from the hotel to Plane Parking causing us to be forced into driving through the Drop Off zone and paying in excess of £8 unnecessarily. I suggest there are signs at the airport hotels directing drivers to the correct airport car park.
On arrival at the barrier to enter the car park, my car was not obviously registered correctly, causing delay i n me having to call via intercom in order to allow me through.
Car park was fine, other than some spots were rough with pools of water with the heavy rain. Drainage should perhaps be improved..
Buses were regular, with no significant waits on bus arriving and conveying to the car park.”
