“Booked terminal parking in advance and on arrival couldn’t find a free space. Had to drive around for over 20 mins while others arrived after me and were doing the same. Once parked it was convenient and close to the terminal but not relaxing having to try and beat others to a single space when it came available.”
“The booking system is very good, the parking was fine but having to walk from car park to departures was ridiculous, glad it wasn’t raining. Why are the buses not running.”
“It would be a four star review but Edinburgh Airport insist on very poor signage to their cat parks - why is a complete mystery as they have been aware of the problem for years - Most other airports do it better.
Having said that once the multi storery access was found it is a very convenient car park - well lit , good wide parking spaces, and very easy and quick access to the Terminal. The only thing to take care with is the relatively high concrete edges on the access ramps in the car park. The cost for our long weekend was pretty good - way better value than the drop off/pick up charges and frankly worth spending more for the multi storey than wandering the vast car park outside and a possible long walk in the rain with luggage.
If you really have to use Edinburgh Airport then use the multi storey if the rate looks in anyway competitive on the day.”
“Easy to find and enter car park. Spaces quite tight. Would be very convenient for terminal, but the route is not signposted and very hard to find quickest way through. This meant we ended up walking further than we needed to. The parking was very expensive for 3 days.”
“Parking was easy, forgot to take note as to were i was on my return!
Myself and another car then couldn’t get out due to tickets not working to lift the barriers & after been awake for 26 hrs it was frustrating. The machine said I owed £16 extra as my flight was late in landing due to delays , not exactly fair as it wasn’t my fault!!
Just things to note but overall not bad.”
“Found our way to terminal building via temporary footpath from long-stay car park. However, missed route of temporary footpath at night on way back to carpark. Signposting / demarcation inadequate in final approaches to covered walkway approaching terminal building.”
“The parking facilities are fine but we were disappointed to be charged an extra £16.50 for being 3 hours late on the way back. Have emailed a complaint but have not yet received a response.”
“Lack of signage and pathway marking for route to terminal from long stay car park is unacceptable. It was very difficult to haul suitcases over uneven surfaces and speedbumps. It improves once you find your way to midstay carpark.”
“Drop off and collection of car after a 2 week holiday not a problem. Easily booked online and automatic exit etc. All fine on that side of things. However, the lack of a shuttle bus from the long stay car park to the Terminal is not great. Fair enough when Covid was at its height, however now I don't see the excuse for the lack of shuttle buses. We were fine to walk the 15 minutes with luggage, but for older people, or those with disabilities, walking to the Terminal from a long stay car park in potentially wet weather is not good. Why aren't the Shuttle buses running again?”
“Easy to organise, navigating the airport is awful and the system did not recognise my reg when leaving, thus requiring aid from staff to allow me to leave without paying a reiiculous sum as if I hadn't pre-booked.”
“All went well until we had to retrieve our keys from the automatic station , when we opened the box the keys were not there so had to wait till an attendant could retrieve our keys. Hopefully it was a one off!!!”
“Parking was good,
only thing I would change ,was if you could put better markings on the road .
to direct you to the correct lane to the multi storey
As we went through the drop off twice and got charged for this 🤦🏻♂️”
“The carpark is ok. The bays are small as you’d expect, and access for pedestrians is poor.
I had a flight cancelled, and emailed the airport contact twice to request advice, since this would mean I went over the time I’d paid for. I got no response at all. I eventually had to pay the overtime, which was double the amount I had prepaid. Awful service, wouldn’t recommend.”
“All good until leaving and at the barrier the machine came up with £356 to pay despite us pre paying. Took a long time to get an answer in assistance and a queue developed behind us.”
“Our parking experience was fine but a couple of things for improvement. All parking was very very expensive, probably because we only booked a week before but none the less, a minimum of £80 for 5 nights is extortionate. We ended up choosing the multi story as it was only £5 more than the long stay, a bit odd if you ask me, it was good, easy to get to, reasonably big spaces and lots of them.
My gripe though is the continued lack of a shuttle bus to and from the long stay. I don’t know why it has been stopped, no doubt “because of Covid”, the excuse trotted out for every reduction in service. Parts of the long stay car park are quite a long walk from the terminal. It costs £4 just to drop off someone at the terminal, an absolute farce but it would be unfair to single out Edinburgh airport for this, they are all at it, so dropping off a partner with the luggage then going to park becomes as expensive as just parking in one of the nearer car parks. Shame as the Edinburgh airport long stay used to be very good.”
“Overall very satisfied with evertything but disappointed that there are no shuttle buses available as it was a 10 min walk to the airport terminal. This is a distance if you are travelling with children and there are no trolleys available for luggage or if it was raining!”
