“Told when I arrived my number plate would be recognised and ticket would have my info. This was not the case at the barrier and caused confusion. Was concerned I may have parked in the wrong place. Had to check at ticket office. On return there was a six hour grace period in case my arrival was late. This expired by 20 minutes following my flight being re-routed to Manchester through no fault of my own. I was then charged £12 extra”
“Simple enough to find and within easy reach of the terminal. Reasonably priced, although a small issue with the charging when leaving. Resolved within a couple of minutes but keep your booking details handy.”
“Easy entry to the car park and found a space without too much difficulty. Only downside was on leaving - the machine asked for several hundreds pound exit fee when I had pre-booked and paid for parking months ago. This is the second time I have had this experience in a few weeks. However it was resolved by the call facility, as it was last time. Can't understand why this is happening. Used it many times befor without this glitch.”
“Ok, but problems at mid stay exit; several cars in front of me delayed at barrier. In my case there was a demand for £90, despite being paid in advance! I assume number recognition did not function correctly. I was only delayed 10 - 15 minutes, but it seems longer at 11 p.m. when you have a long drive ahead of you.”
“The car park and short work to the terminal are absolutely fine but when I put my ticket in the barrier to leave I was asked to pay £75 and had to speak to a team member to let me through the barrier.”
“Had a pre - paid ticket for the terminal parking. Could not exit as the machine was asking for a payment of over £400 !! Had to call for help to exit. This was done quickly but should this be happening??”
“The stay is fine but, as with my previous stay at the car park, my prepaid ticket does not register on exit. The machine then asks for an extortionate payment and I must use the call button to get the barrier raised.”
“the web page and booking was ok, but we had to change vehicle and the system for that is not user friendly, but eventually got it done. got to the airport and could not get in, got buzzed in by staff, could not get out, buzzed out by staff. Although the car had changed and the paperwork was updated, the IT system was'nt. Felt like it was a burden to get buzzed in and out.”
“Very expensive, but very convenient. Had a delay coming home & the machine wanted an extra £225 to get out the carpark. A quick call on the buzzer & was sorted out straight away”
“Entered the drop off section by mistake, so had to go through the barrier back to the multi storey entrance. Getting to the fast track security was very simple. Had prepaid, but on return, when I got to the exit barrier it said I had £255 outstanding. Was stranded at the exit gate and had to leave my car at the gate and walk to the service window for help. It was explained that the camera hadn’t read my registration properly. He fixed the issues in minutes, but was a trauma that I could have done without.”
“Stay was fine but on way out the ticket machine was not accepting any tickets and the operator wa v slow to respond and bluntly quite rude with no apology just a grunt”
“Multi story is convenient, if expensive. It's close and includes security fast track, which was helpful for a person with reduced mobility.
We experienced 2 issues:
1. The barrier did not function as stated in the instructions we received: It didn't auto-generate the ticket, I had to press the button. Would be good to update the instructions to be more accurate. Thankfully the ticket that came out did correspond to my booking.
2. When we left it tried to charge me £144 on top of my prepaid amount. A quick call via the intercom got it sorted, but again it would be better if everything just worked as stated on the instructions. Thank you to the member of staff who helped and raised the barrier.”
“accept getting told id have to pay an extra £145,by the machine, press of the button spoke to the guy and he said"reg number please" then up the barrier went,no explanation at all, these things shouldnt happen with npr,a lot of work ongoing”
“I booked and paid for Edinburgh Car Parking a few months before we were due to go on holiday. The directions and map were very helpful and was easy to find. When we arrived the barrier did not open the first time so we had to reverse and try again...which then opened. We received a ticket with our registration number on it which I kept for our exit on return. On our return from our holiday, we put the ticket into the exit point to raise the barrier but then it showed a charge of £165 which I nearly had a heart attack! My husband asked for assistance and explained that I had pre-booked and pre-paid. We were asked for our reg number then the barrier was raised. What is the point of cameras to read the reg plate if this cannot be done automatic?”
“Unfortunately for me,I had to rebook as original booking came up for 1500hrs when I was actually arriving at 0600hrs. Transfer from multi story to check in was excellent fast track. Coming back there was no number plate recognition so had to call and wait for a good few minutes for a response then give details of booking etc before eventually getting out of the car park. This could be much smoother process.”
“Arriving was easy, found a space no problem, used the fast track security with no issues.
Came back and car was fine, no issues. Tried to exit car park and machine told me i was due £360!! Looked like folk in car next to us had same issue. Pressed the assistance button, bloke answered quickly and raised the barrier. Shouldn't have had to do that though, we were well within our booked times and where do you get the £360 charge from anyway???”
