“Signage parking is terrible - forced to drive through drop-off, had to pay £1. Parking spots very small. Too much taxi traffic passing through the car park at speed, dangerous for children.”
“It cost me £45 when I expected to pay £15. I parked in the wrong car park using Plane parking by mistake. I accept I made a mistake but I think your guidance could be better. It says not to turn off too early and not to park in NCP by mistake. The implication is therefore to park in the second car park on the left following the roundabout which is Plane parking. On my return I drove round and still couldn't see NCP so although I can see the Long Stay park sign I feel that your guidance is misleading. If I need to use the parking facilities again I will probably not book in advance as my attempt to save money actually backfired badly.”
“Always always always have issues leaving the car park. Registration is never recognised and I always have to talk to someone to be let out of the car park. They apparently can't see my registration either so I have to dig around for my receipt and read off the ticket. I've visited the office, been reassured that I would be let out, return to my car and then can't exit. Why does this always happen? Always.”
“Delayed getting off plane as "there weren't enough coaches".
Queued for an hour just to get through Passport control which was only partially manned despite the high volume of passengers.”
“Sorry to have to say this but the Edinburgh Airport doesn't impress the foreign visitor. I am a Scot and I have visited many countries and experienced lots of Airports. My visit last week to Edinburgh Airport made me uncomfortable as a Scot for a number of reasons.
1. The gents toilets had a bit of a "pong" and generally looked as though they were cheaply built. Not very welcoming.
2. The general appearance of the arrival halls decoration was dull and the lighting levels gave the appearance of a a rather boring institution rather than a welcoming destination.
3. The general appearance of the staff suggested that they were bored and not really interested in providing any service.
I am genuinely sorry to have to comment like this but I can only report my feelings as I found them. Please get out a few tins of colour for the walls and some disinfectant. Perhaps have a look at other better airports. Your are supposed to be the gateway to Scotland.

“The arrivals side is an absolute shambles. Nowhere else I have ever been has such a long wait at passports for nationals. A full hour between landing and getting out of the airport without hold baggage. Nobody supports illegal immigration but given the cost of parking you could have more e-gates/staff.”
“All was fine until we come back.
The busman was an horrible driver. He drove very fast and the luggage fall all time. We have a pushchair with two babies of 3 months and the pushchair was moving all time, I almost fall to the ground trying to catch the pushchair. It was a DANGEROUS experience for all us.”
“On leaving the airport the system did not recognise our prepaid booking and attempted to charge us £150. On contacting the attendant our booking ref number still wasn't recognised, eventually sorted.”
“Price of parking is out of line with the service being offered. Return flights to and from Edinburgh to domestic destinations can be bought for around £100 - £66 for parking feels like very poor value for money in comparison and diminishes the overall experience.”
“Can't believe how much extra we had to pay when we made a mistake entering our return date. We booked for 15 days and had to pay an extra 50 % for an additional 10 hours.”
“Security area was chaotic on the way out despite the signs saying that the wait wouldn't be more than a few minutes. There just doesn't seem to be enough facilities for the number of passengers and I don't think it was that busy. There were just queues for everything made worse by the fact that if you "bleeped" going through the scanners, you then had to wait in a queue again to go through the body scanners which in turn caused issues for the staff who were wanting to checked hand luggage !!
On the return, the plane landed on the wrong side from the terminal which meant a long taxi and then when we got on buses, we all waited for all the passengers disembarked the plane before ANY of the buses moved. The long taxi was due to work being done on the runway and adjacent areas. The toilets in arrivals hall are still portacabins. None of this is an issue if passengers are aware that the work is still on going at the airport but everything that we read prior to booking to fly through Edinburgh was that there had been so much work done, fabulous airport etc.
We will think twice before travelling through this airport again for a considerable amount of time unless we have no alternative.”
“Very good flight back from faro yesterday afternoon what a pity there were no trolleies available at baggage reclaim for any of the passengers on the jet 2 flight how can this happen in 2017 ? Can someone please investigate and respond kind regards Ivor Watson”
“Barrier didn't recognise our car on departure. We held up a queue of other cars while finding out booking number and sorting it out. The airport itself so so oriented to retail rather than real services.”
“My car was damaged when I returned to pick it up. The car next to it had obviously thrown its door open and there is a big dent and scratch in my car. Unfortunately I have only had the car a month and it is a brand new car.”
“Going out of the parking after inserting the ticket into the machine on the screen displayed £80 outstanding payment.I press the help line button to clarify the person on the other side of the line was not nice, instead of talking to me polite he shouted on me.I feel discriminated against that I'm foreigner I make mistakes in conversation and I have an accent. In the future I will never use your service again.”
“Typical airport, could be anywhere. Shops and bars very overpriced eg breakfast in wetherspoons over twice the price of the ones outside the airport. Security areas not big enough and not a pleasant experience”
“All v smooth until on leaving we were asked for £95 extra despite having prebooked. Pressed assistance button, gave reference number and were let through without additional payment but no explanation was given as to why the charge was initially requested.”
“While the service online is incredibly quick and easy to use, my rating of Poor stems from the fact that upon leaving the car park after a long and tiring day, I put my ticket into the machine at the exit and was informed that I was required to pay an extra £50. Fortunately I was able to access my booking number to inform the gentleman at the other end of the intercom and rectify the problem. However, in my opinion, this shouldn't have been an issue in the first place, given that the service was pre-paid and I was leaving well within the timescale I had specified at the point of booking. This struck me as slightly sharp practice as you have a captive audience and I wouldn't like to think of the result had I not had access to my reference number.”
“The car parking is an excellent service and easy to use. However due to a flight delay which was no fault of my own I was an hour and 5 mins late for picking in my car which resulted in a £32 fine - I think that is a disgraceful pricing as the entire weeks parking didn't cost £32”
