“Parking itself was fine & a short walk to the terminal. When leaving the car park after inserting the ticket in the machine, I was told I had £165 to pay despite having pre-paid! This was resolved after I pushed the button to speak to an advisor but this shouldn't happen. This has happened to me a few times here & to other people that I know of. I don't know if the system is just flawed or if they are trying to chance their luck & get more money out of unsuspecting / tired customers, but it needs to be addressed.”
“Came home and our car had 24 miles more than when we left it, to then be told the cars were only taken 1km away. A very rude woman at reception couldn't care less. When we got our car the number plate had come off but instead of sticking it on where it clearly was meant to be, they stuck it to the bumper. there was glue marks all over the paint work. Also out car was left in eco mode and when we got it back it was in sport.
Will not recommend or be using again.”
“No shuttle service from long stay parking and no clear walkway to the terminal, have to walk through puddles. Not the best service considering the price.”
“Booked in fast track. Painless admin both entering and leaving car park. HOWEVER I did not find anything on line to advise me that if it was raining I and my passengers would get wet particularly on returning to car park. Other airports offer service where car is in very close proximity to admin building on return. We were in B50. A long walk in what might be torrential rain. Would not use facility again”
“Car auto beam and autowind screen wipers were turned off. why? Also, I had to pay £4.00 when exiting the car park? why? I would like somone to call me back immediately”
“Trouble at Checkout! Booked and paid for multi storey car park and managed to find a space on level 3. However after returning from holiday collecting car proceeded to barrier, popped card in machine to be faced with a message saying £536 was due. Called operator, who confirmed our booking, then to be told level 1,2 and 3 were premium and there should be an additional charge of £25 but he then agreed to waive this amount and allowed us on our way. This caused a queue of people and bearing in mind it was 3am having had an additional delay at Security. I have checked the website and no where does it state that there is an additional! This has made reassess whether we would fly from Edinburgh in the future.”
“Couldn't get into the car park as the number plate recognition wasn't working -- eventually got hold of someone who let me in, and then the car park was totally full, meaning it took me more than 45 minutes to find a space which made me late for my flight. Far more stressful a process than it should have been. Otherwise fine.”
“Busy place so finding a spot to park can take some time. On returning after my holiday I found a new scratch on my car, but because there are no cameras I have no chance of finding out how it is happened. Well go figure.”
“I mistakenly entered the wrong exit time at the time of booking and it became extremely difficult to extend my parking. I sent two separate emails but didn't receive a response. I ended up paying a lot more than what I should have paid for my parking.”
“Our car wasn’t there ready waiting as it appears the Fast Park system can’t decipher by quoted collection time and when flight operators use same flight number days apart (I.e. I said 1am after collecting cases etc but it thought we meant flight that night so 1am following day). It needs addressed as awaiting a car in the early hours after a long flight is a tiring and frustrating experience!”
“The booking confirmation gave no directions or postcode for the parking area. I emailed the week before I travelled asking for either and never got an answer (nor have I since). My flight was at 7am and I arrived at the airport at 3.30am. I followed the signs for long-term parking and tried 4 different parking areas before I found the correct one and the registration number recognition allowed me to enter. The process took a full hour and I finally entered the airport at 4.30am. At that time of night, I was alone, I had to walk to the airport from the parking area, directions were poor and there was nobody to ask, there was no bus shuttle and I had not been warned about this. The parking area seemed fine and I was able to catch the bus back there when I landed yesterday afternoon. Luckily I had plenty of time before my flight and the airport wasn't busy but if I had been delayed arriving at the area, I could have missed my flight by losing an hour trying to find my car park. Directions should be given on the booking confirmation and more information on the layout of the area. A simple, brief answer to my email would have made it all so much easier.”
“The booking process was easy, intuitive and quick, virtual. When we arrived, the car's number plate reader enabled us to enter the car and issued the ticket we needed when we left. So far so good.
On entering the car park there were signs indicating where to get free spaces, which did not exist. We spent 45 minutes looking for a space. There were badly parked cars everywhere, even on the pavement. It was infuriating and frustrating.
If they know that we are going with a timetable, already paid, it costs nothing to assign the space corresponding to the reservation.
A pity.
However, he made it clear that it is cheap and very close to the airport, which is fantastic.”
“Fast Parking used. Drop off was spot on and trouble free. On return I found part of my key fob missing. I then had to wait for assistance and it was in an office and had not been put back with the rest of the Jaguar Fob despite having Jaguar written on it. Then problem when tried to leave as it takes you out to the main exit but your voucher for fast pass is not taken by the machine. I had to call assistance who opened the barrier but this should be straight forward.”
“1. Once the car was parked in long stay parking there was no indication as to where to walk to get to the terminal.
2. In order to enter the long stay car park you needed to take a ticket from the machine at the entrance. Having prepaid the parking I was at a loss to know what to do with the ticket. It became apparent as I tried to exit a week later. Why don't you recognise the car registration plate and open the gates when required.
Unfortunately I have just spent a week in Switzerland - it is quite a contrast to the schmozzle you meet with at Edinburgh Airport.”
“Very smooth drop-off process, not so good on collection. Ticket left in the car for the exit barrier was not linked to the pre-paid booking, so spent 10 mins while the person on call repeatedly failed to locate the booking from the booking ref and car reg so we could exit without a £400+ charge. Not what you want at 3am after a delayed return flight!!”
