“I pre booked and paid £37.99 for a stay on Wed 29 June.
For some reason my car reg did not print on ticket.
My flight was then delayed by 4 hours.
Wheh I exited car park I was charged a further £60
So total cost of 1 day parking has been £97.99.
This is ridiculous and seems like my £37.99 did not register.”
“After a long delay and then sitting on the runway for another hour we were so happy we had booked Fast Park as we thought we would be on our way home as soon as we got through the airport.
Got to Fast Park and scanned my ticket, box 21 lights up and there are no keys in the box. Got an assistant to help and finally got told they were not expecting me until 12 o'clock. Showed my email confirmation which clearly stated 4am. Waiting around 25 minutes for the car to be brought over. Fast park was not fast”
“Firstly paid £69.99 for 5 days parking in the long stay car park, which is more than I’ve ever paid before.
When we arrived there were cars piling in but no spaces. The signs directing to spaces actually sent you round in circles with no spaces to be had.
No sign of any attendants or what to do if you cannot find a space. Eventually after driving round for 30 mins to no avail another customer told us that they were informed to park in the drop off. We saw many cars that had seemingly just abandoned themselves and yet no one was stopped from coming in to the car park adding to the issue. Can’t believe in this situation there was no one directing people to spaces.
I was aware when we booked that there are no longer buses to the terminal and that you need to walk. I find this utterly ridiculous that there is no longer this facility, as now having experienced this what about the disabled or elderly? How can people be expected to lug suitcases to the terminal or be charged over the odds to park in the terminal? Seems like a bit of a scam to get people to pay more for the other car parks.
All in all a shocking experience and has put me off from parking at the airport again.”
“Booked the Long Stay car parking advance but there were no spaces even in an overflow car park. Drove around for 20 minutes along with fellow travellers. Not good!”
“Have enjoyed using your multi -storey car park many times but was shocked to be charged £27 pounds extra for over staying through no fault of my own, flight delays and cancellations caused me to be late picking my car up. Just added to a frustrating day.”
“Finding a space was a total nightmare it took 60 minutes to find a parking space which to me is totally unacceptable this added a lot of stress to what should been a stress free start to our holiday why sell people a product when it's almost impossible to use we weren't the only people driving around and around the car park”
“My flight was cancelled 11hrs before its planned departure. The carpark booking Website had no obvious means of advising that I wouldn’t be able to make use of my reservation, and as it was less than 24hrs before my flight I wasn’t entitled to a refund. The telephone ‘help’ line turned out to be a pointless recorded message, and my subsequent email of complaint has so far gone unanswered.”
“Arriving at 5am in the dark there were no directions on how to get to the terminal. On our return we finally found our own way back in the rain to our car. I find it disgusting that the courtesy buses are not running and I will not be using this car park in the future”
“I am trying to contact you about a booking that I had to cancel because my flight was cancelled and there is no way to do this. I have set 3 emails and no one responds.
Very poor customer service”
“Awful. Miles to walk to departures from long stay. No buses. No trollies. Cost me an extra 2 x £4 to use drop off. My partner struggled, on his own, to get luggage from drop off to checkin, without me, then wait for me to drive, park, and find him.
The same on return. I had to run to car then sit and await his call to say he was in drop off. He struggled with luggage in his own. Awful. Will books private carpark from now.”
“A flight delay incurred an £18 charge - completely disproportionate and hugely disappointing. Infuriating in current economic climate - feel inclined to use every media outlet to discourage use of this service/facility”
“We were delayed flying back from Italy and our car was in the car park for an extra day on leaving we were charged 140 GBP having already paid 59 GBP to park in the first place making this a very expensive car parking experience. It was very hard to find our car on return as the car park has no clear signage to and from the terminal.”
“The parking is okay but. When i book a park place they ask me what is the fly number. And I thought if the system know the fly number even if my fly is late that’s not gonna be a problem but my fly was delayed 6 hours and i have to pay extra money for my parking. This is very stupid. What is the point to ask for my fly if you will charge me more anyway if my fly is delayed”
“Will never use this facility again. Overbooked so spent almost 40 minutes trying to find a space. Even once found it was a very tight squeeze to get my Kia Ceed (so hardly a big car!) into the space as they are so small. Cars abandoned, some just pulled up onto kerbside at bus stop…seeing as there are no shuttle buses anymore. Only about a 10 minute walk to the airport which is about the only positive thing I can say about this shambles.”
“I pre-booked a parking space in the long stay car park. I arrived at my pre-prescribed time and spent 25 minutes driving round the car park looking for a space. I didn’t find one so I had to park on a hash marked space (luckily I was only on a day trip so didn’t feel too bad about parking wrongly. There were many other cars driving around aimlessly also trying to find spaces. If you have pre-booked a space you should be guaranteed to find one.”
“Edinburgh Airport is in chaos and the companies are profiteering from it. You can either wait in a long queue or bypass their planning incompetence by paying money to skip the queue. Similarly the impact of delays led my flight to be significantly behind schedule which led to me being charged £16 on top of the £23 I'd already paid.
Rip off Britain.”
