The Edinburgh Advance Parking is great - options for all car parks to suit holidays or business trips of all durations. The website booking is easy and all you need to do is drive into your selected car park, the Camera recognises your number plate from your booking and on your return, you just pick up your car - drive to the exit gates and the barrier rises and off you go. Fantastic. Except, every time I have used this, apart from the first time, the machine refuses to let me out and I have to wait, sometimes with other drivers for up to 15 or 20 minutes for someone to tell me the ANPR system isn't working. No apologies are given for the disruption. Please sort yourselves out Edinburgh Parking!!

Upon arrival at the car park the barrier did not lift as expected. I pressed the call button and did not get any response. I reversed back to go through the other barrier when I finally got a response from a rather tired and bored operative who told me the Automatic Number Plate reader was out of order. Not a good experience at all.

This experience wasn’t so good. Booking and parking up was reasonably straightforward although sign posting could have been better but when it came to leave the at least 2 of the barriers were not working properly. I eventually worked out that it must be faulty sensors at some the exit point barriers so directed another customer and myself to use another (the 3rd). This created a great deal of stress late a night after having been asked to pay £150 to exit although I already paid, the other elderly customer was asked for £220.

The long stay is walk to terminal only now. Its OK but be prepared... there is no proper pathway through the car park, you have to get through parked cars or on the road for most of it. It is not a covered walkway and takes 10 min approx so you will get wet if raining. There are also puddles across the path if wet (wheeled bag may get wet too). Departures area is furthest away in terminal. On return you're slightly closer to car park. Pre-book!!! My pre-booked ticket wasn't recognised by machine & they wanted to charge £150 for 6 days... spoke to "assistance" and my registration recorded and so I was let through. However now this is walk only, it may be better to use the cheaper car park further away.

Pre booked and paid for 1 week and everything appeared fine until we were leaving . The barrier would not raise and a fee of £270 appeared on the screen . There was no response to the help button despite several attempts. The barrier eventually raised and we are now left wondering if there will be an attempt to pursue us for the obvious financial error .

Returning to your vehicle beached in 6" of water isnt quite the greeting you expect after a few days away in another country. So shoes and socks squelching before you even leave the car park isnt ideal. It could be argued that the Parking may not have been able to forsee, a lot of rain, however, this is Scotland, and more adequate drainage may be more suitable - this wasnt the only space in the vast area which was significantly waterlogged. Maybe the price of the parking could be used to subsidise such work, although the cost of the parking, ironically was not a point I would raise as any kind of complaint. Instead, if we are not going to improve the customer's experience of returning to their vehicle in a swamp, maybe that money would be better spent on their staffing/systems. For the second of two times now, prebooking of this service has been flawed. 2months ago, it was on entry, this time on exit. Entering of my ticket in order to escape at the exit barrier, I was met with a message of a further charge onscreen. Raising my concern to the attendee on the other end of the intercom, I wasnt greeted with any kind of friendly, apologetic or even sympathetic tone. Instead, window down in the teeming rain, "Is your ticket in" was the only response I received. (well it was, before the machine spat it back out at me) - I proceeded to explain this, "is your ticket in?" was the next helpful response, no dialect inbetween these two identical statements. Ticket was then placed back in the machine and without any confirmation, additional concern for the delay or inconvenience or any level of decency, we were on our way as the barrier lifted. I must say at this point, this is very inkeeping with my previous experience on entrance, not 2months ago! hence the "Poor" and not "Acceptable" rating.

I've used mid-stay twice in the last few months both times pre-paying. The first time I was not issued a ticket by the machine on the way in, so when existing I could not get out of car park through the barrier until someone eventually answered the help button to let me out after I explained I had pre-paid and provided my car registration. The second time, I was provided with a ticket, but on insertion of the ticket on the way out I was given notice of an outstanding balance of £120 to pay before the barrier would lift!!! I double-checked my booking on my phone, which was all correct, and this time someone answered the help button quickly and let me out. I give it 2 stars instead of 1 due to the convenience to the terminal. I would not use this car park again for a 3rd time and risk more hassle and stress trying to get home after tiring flights.

No issue with the parking, location was good for the terminal. I had prepaid my parking yet when I presented my ticket you wanted to charge me £140. No one would answer the call button at exit so I had to negotiate the cars behind me who thought I was that idiot who hadn’t paid. Once I was able to speak to someone issue was quickly resolved

I always have problems, when I book online, exiting the car park. I always have to beep the attendant to let me out. I was actually encouraged on Tuesday evening (15th Nov) when everyone was having the same problem. How hard can it be to rectify this? This parking area is convenient for walking to the terminal -otherwise I wouldn't use it at all.

Travelers should be VERY VERY careful. This company will scam you if they get the chance. I booked online days in advance but when I validated my ticket they tried to charge me £130 on top of what I'd already paid. If I hadn't been alert and questioned the charge I would have been scammed. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. CHECK EVERYTHING. DO NOT PAY UNLESS YOU ARE SURE.

The car park location is fine, but there is no pedestrian route through the long stay car park which was a nightmare with a fully loaded luggage trolley. We had to use the main vehicle routes to push the trolley, which have speed bumps to drag it over. It also felt unsafe as cars squeezed past. We pre-paid for 6 days, which at £33 was good value. However when we tried to leave the barrier wouldn’t lift, saying we owed a further £154. Thankfully there is an intercom and we were let out without further charge.

Regular user -always booked in anfnace until recently I only had great things to say. The last 3 times I have been stuck at the exit barrier until the desk release me - I’ve asked if I’m doing something wrong/dofferent but apparantly it’s a glitch in the system The lads on the desk are brilliant - always sorted me if my flight is delayed - you need to sort out the glitch for them and they can go back to being brilliant

I had booked my car in and then had to change it to a different can , when I arrived at the airport it did not recognise the new plate of the second car . Although it was sorted out there at the time it happened again when I left and it also did not recognise the booking reference . Eventually it was sorted out

The system is nice and shiny but didn't work as it should. After stopping at the Photo Booth and it didn't register my email I then passed through and Left the car in lane 6 to the Centre and ended up in a queue of 3 or 4 people at each terminal and only 1 guy there trying to get everyone to use the screen which again didn't accept the Inputs and he had to manipulate things to get the data into the machine. On return, the Key box machine didn't register the bar code here again I had to go get help. Also it was raining so got wet walking to the Fast Track from International and especially to get to my car which was parked a good distance from the Centre

Positive that a short walk to the terminal. However… very expensive to extend stay by 24 hours and automatic gate system doesn’t work
