“Terminal surface parking is OK most of the time. However, they oversell spaces and occasionally you cannot get a space even if you have pre-booked some weeks in advance!
This is not acceptable.”
“Have used valet before (very good) and paid for it this time but it was 'closed' and we were transferred to multi-storey - no refund offered!
On exit the machine demanded £500 extra - had to speak to the office to sort it.
Not very impressive for a supposedly premium service.”
“lack of signage really complicates matters when trying to locate your parking area,although there are signs very hard to take-in when traffic behind you”
“Access to the main car park is always straightforward and the walk to the Priority Boarding Desk is great for those who are travelling with just hand luggage. Only negative is the limited parking on the 2nd floor, which is the priority boarding level.”
“Long stay parking ........pre booked but always very difficult to find a parking space on arrival.........could some areas be reserved for pre booked vehicles ?
New drop off zone and parkingarea has taken many spaces previously available”
“Ticket machine upon exit was looking for £165.00 even though I had pre-paid!! This has now happened twice.
It got sorted out but was a bit of a hassle and an inconvenience when you are trying to get home.”
“Procedure on arrival at the long stay car-park was fine. However when I returned from my trip, around 4.30 on a Sunday afternoon the area in front of the airport was massively congested. This meant that buses were delayed and when it arrived, after a 15 minute wait, we then waited in a queue & crawled along - I could have walked faster.”
“The bays are quite tight, especially given that you usually have bags to get in and out of the car. Also, I got charged twice to park and am still trying to get a refund for the second payment.”
“Having been a very satisfied customer in the past , this time was not so good. When I arrived at the car park it was full and we were in a queue of cars waiting to go in . When we finally got in we were told by a man at the express drop off that we weren’t to park in any of his numbered spaces and good luck with finding a free one. This was a stressful start to our holiday. On our return to Edinburgh there was a massive queue to get on the long stay bus, eventually got on the third bus to come and were swished like sardines, not pleasant. Overall it was not a great success this time and would make me think twice about booking the Long Stay again.”
“Positives: quick check in and fabulous parking bays next to a bus stop for blue badge holders.
Negatives: maneuvering your cases through the lanes of cars at check in to get to a bus stop in the pouring rain.”
“Bought surface parking - left it til the week before I flew not realising the price would rise by 15% ! When I arrived I the zones nearest the terminal were full , had to park in section R ( not 2 minutes walk from terminal as advertised ) . Will probably go with a cheaper option next time .”
“Fast Track arrangements could be improved by better signage ....both for the parking area within the multi storey car park and the location of the Fast Track bridge into the security area.”
“This the second time this year that I have parked at the airport and on both occasions have struggled to find a space , driving round a car park for 20 minutes trying to park when having arrived in plenty of time doesn't appeal to me.”
