“Could not find access to the multi story. Ended up in short stay which cost me £4. Then drop off - so another £1. Could be better sign posted.
Machine tried to charge me £180 despite pre - booking. Fortunately the staff on hand sorted that for me.
In the future I will use long stay.”
“after landing at 8pm on Friday evening it was 9-25 before we got into our car to travel home to cumbria. When we finally left the airport building it was not clear as to where we could catch shuttle bus back to car park.On asking staff twice we were given wrong information as to where to wait. When we worked this out ourselves and got on shuttle everything was fine. Not great when you are facing a two and a half hour journey.”
“Booked and payed for parking. When leaving the car park was asked for an extra £300. After looking through emails for a reference number they. Let us out”
“The ability to pay in advance was good, the price was high but the real let down is the access to the airport. I selected the Fast track which was difficult because I had to checkin a bag but also the fact its slower than the other lanes based on the amount of staff going through and its always open to other users. The linked access from the parking to the airport is a joke and doesnt suprise me when I see so many foreigners looking lost”
“Booked into the open air car park next to the terminal. When we arrived it was completely full and we had to drive around for almost 30 minutes before we found a space. This defeats the purpose of booking in at this car park, where you want (and pay for!) the convenience of being so close. If we'd had less time I'm not sure what we would have done.”
“I do understand the airport is being reconstructed which always causes difficulties to the people, but 45 minutes waiting for our luggage on Thursday night was a bit too much. I use your airport regularly and feel (amongst few others) you are not coping with your increasing capacity as well as Glasgow? I do hope I'm wrong.”
“Prepaid for parking online so nearly had a heart attack when upon inserting ticket on exit it showed amount due £140! Had to give gentleman on end of buzzer reference number to which he replied 'there you go' and the barrier lifted.....no apology or explanation! I was panicking thinking we were in wrong car park.”
“Medium term parking at Edinburgh is not cheap but arguably market rate. The rates for short term, particularly pick up and slightly less for drop off are extortionate. Edinburgh airport are abusing their monopolistic position.”
“First time using the new Long Stay Express. The drop off was as advertised. Nice and easy, in fact I was impressed, however we changed our flights for the day before our original return flight. I read the t’s & c’s which said if any change to our arrival time to inform at least 12 hours before. I called 24 hours before and was told the car would be waiting for us. When we arrived we went to the office, no car waiting. We were given the keys and told where it was parked and we had to go and get it ourselves. Not at all as advertised. It says the car will be in the lay-by waiting for us to turn up. Not in our case. Not what you need after over 20 hours of travel. Very disappointed to say the least.”
“The online booking is easy, but on the last two occasions the system has tried to charge me at the barrier. The staff are helpful in quickly resolving the problem but it is annoying after a long flight to have to mess around at the barrier when I have already paid.”
“Departure & "Fast Track" was fine.
A big factor in booking this parking is because on arrival i "just want to get home", however, the works currently being carried out at the airport with poor (no) signposting on how to get back to the car park, or back across the bridge meant several laps of the terminal building and not the swift experience I would have expected. Until this is resolved, the premium over the bus-based services is absolutely not worth it – took longer to get back to the car than it would have taken to get a bus to ScotPark.”
“My flight back from Belfast was delayed and together with my luggage taking over 50 minutes to come out onto the carousel (easyJet took my bag as the internal cabins were full - I only had carry on baggage) I was approximately 2 hours 10 minutes past my booked time of 18:00. I was charged an additional £4 to exit the car park. If I had simply added a few hours to my estimated time of departing the car park, I would not have been charged any more than the £35.99 I had already paid. Accordingly, I am not happy with this charge and would expect the £4 to be repaid.”
“Booked months in advance for Long Stay Car Park but could not find a vacant space after driving round for 10-15 minutes. Then walked to office but no help there. Told to go to exit gate and use intercom. Then told to go to Mid-Stay Car Park but could not find any signs so ended up at surface parking beside multi-storey where we were allowed to park. Poor service leading to unwelcome stress and waste of time.”
“Very difficult to find your way around. I have to assume that the different areas are laid out in some kind of logical pattern, but when you tumble out of the shuttle bus in the middle of the night, and find you are beside "G4" there are no clues to help you work out where "E2" might be. You need to provide signage to indicate "A, B, C this way" or "4,5,6 that way". And/or plans showing the layout with a "You are here" marker.”
“Until my latest visit I would have always rated my experience as good. However the introduction of "Express" parking had resulted in queuing of vehicles on arrival and a fairly shambolic reception process. Although my late pick up went more smoothly one operator returning keys to a busload of passengers again led to queuing. To cap it all the number plate recognition apparently did not recognise my number plate and sought further payment without any explanation of what to do, delaying departure.”
“Booked Long Stay Express, arrived on time to find the lanes overflowing and chaos, no staff, cars choking the car park. Managed to find an employee, he told me Long Stay Express was full, he then told me to leave and come back later. I decided to find my own space in the long stay car park and doing my own thing. This was hardly the "Easy, stress free, safe and secure" service advertised when booking!”
“upon arrival there was no clear area for Express parking, every one was just on the entrance road, a member of staff who was just arriving for work, and was stuck in the queue, pointed to parking in the disabled area, this was next to the express area. If customers pre order a time of arrival, you would think appropriate amounts of staff would be on hand to deal with them, and adequate parking for the service offered.
On return maybe being daft but i thought express customers would be first drop off but nope.
the reception from the attendant in the office was great and did his job.”
