“Airport was in lockdown can’t get near the car park until after 3.30 in the morning. No indication what was going on. Told to use public transport to get home. No chance from Edinburgh Airport.”
“Great apart from when leaving the car park. Not clear how the receipt is meant to let you out of the car park and I don't think I was the only one with this issue as it was causing a delay. Needs to be sorted for the future.”
“Good location and easy access to fast track security. On entry, only the right-hand barrier was issuing tickets. I drove up to the left-hand barrier and was lucky no-one was behind me as it wouldn't open and I had to reverse and move over. Also, there should be big, obvious signs highlighting the route to the terminal building once you get out the car.”
“Good: Terminal parking is truly fairly close to the terminal
Poor: Traffic congestion on airport approach due to numerous competing destinations served by the same small roads
Bad: Excessive cost for parking, difficult to find vacant spaces. Spaces are too small for modern cars. Ultimate insult was having to pay extra to use a baggage cart. This is ridiculous because very many travellers will need to use a baggage cart and the parking charges are already high”
“Car parking service is generally good.
During the recent alert, the lockdown of the parking area and no access to our car was problematic and not explained. When the alert was lifted, no one communicated that access was again opened.
The more general recommendation from the airport staff to ‘just wait in a local hotel lobby’ was pathetic and poorly thought out. The car parking service suffered from a larger issue.”
“The valet parking is a great service. Two minute walk from the terminal. We flew with Jet2 in June and we were even able to drop our back at the valet parking check-in area. This will have an extra cost but well worth it.”
“Entry to car park, parking and exit made easy! Only downside was lane restrictions that required all vehicles to circumnavigate all of the chosen level.”
“Bus didn’t come to collect us at 3am, no communication to say the bus wasn’t in service. Was not impressed with walking 30 mins to the car with a baby, pregnant wife and luggage in the middle of the night in the rain.”
“Fast park is a game hanger. The only snag is they need to upgrade the path from the fast park exit to the terminal! Tarmac is seriously rough and the tiny concrete tiles make pucking a hold luggage case very hard! Fix this and would hit 5 stars.”
