There was no bay for plane when we landed so sat on tarmac for 15 minutes. Then despite a number of flights arriving the border control was understaffed so had to queue for 40 mins again. Plenty of officials standing watching queue - would be more useful if they could actually help. No way to treat people when they have been travelling for hours already and worst border control management I have experienced at any airport.

Outbound travel was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful. However, returning to Edinburgh Airport was not a good experience. Toilets were out of order, this at seven in the morning. Hardly any border security staff. The carousel took ages to start. No police anywhere to be seen. Not very security conscious. We were told to use the self scanning passport machine, and it took three attempts for my husband to get through. I had three attempts and told an airport worker, who curtly told me there was 'not a thing she could do, and I had to wait in line to see an agent. I think the machines may be in need of a clean as quite a few passengers had trouble. Not a great advert for travellers.

First time I have used this car park and also flown from Edinburgh but it'll be my last. When I returned from my trip my prepaid ticket was not accepted at the exit barriers and there seemed to be no communication button on the barrier to allow me to speak to someone. I had to then take my ticket and pay again before I could get out of the carpark. I am yet to hear if I am to get a refund on my double payment. What's the point of prepaying when you have to pay again when you return? I would not use this rip off car park again.

The usual Edinburgh Airport experience, I'm afraid. My plan landed at 2.50 am, about 1 h 40 min late. But then the pilot said that the gate was not ready for us so we had to wait. Then there were no steps, so we had to wait. Then there was a long wait at the UK border as the automatic e-passport system was not being used. And then there was a LONG wait for the bags to come out: the belt did not start moving until 3.50 am, yes ONE HOUR after the plane had touched down. What other airport in the world is that slow? It should take 10-15 min. It was nearly 4 am when I collected my rucksack and went to find the bus to the Long Stay Car Park. But what bus? There was no one waiting and no sign of the bus or any notice about whether one could be expected. So I WALKED to the Long Stay Car Park - luckily, as I said, my stuff was all in a rucksack. But the temperature was -1 °C! Having collected my car, the exit barrier machine tried to charge me £12.50 extra (in the past, it has tried to charge me >£200) and at 4.05 am, when all I wanted to do was to get home, I had to find my booking reference and negotiate with the disembodied voice coming out of the ticket machine. I say the usual experience because this always seems to happen with flights arriving late into EDI. I recall a previous occasion when one of my fellow passengers sarcastically announced: "Welcome to Scotland! [He was making a point about first impressions...] This is a terribly badly run airport - and I work here!]

I missed my flight, couldn't even go to the parking and wanted refund for my payment, where it says contact us for cancellation I didn't get any web link, contact details or help with the refund. Lost my money for flights as well as for parking.

It's a disaster. I usually use the Valet system which is fine, except that the exit has never on six occasions been without a hitch. Each time the barrier has failed to open/the car number to be recognised, and each time a call on the Assist button has been required. Tiresome. Last time I was too late to book Valet so opted for surface, half price on line, £33.99 for 3 days. On entering the ticket £125 comes up necessitating extended conversations, first with Valet to ask advice,,and then again at the exit barrier. Hopelessly incompetent.

Where to start. At the beginning it wasn't clear that my prepaid parking ticket was already validated hence I had to check my emails to find out how to do it only to find out it was already validated. Next, I arrived at check in to find the system had been replaced by touch screens which did not work!! There were no staff on hand to help us and we stood there for ages before being told that we had to just go through security rather check inn as we had no luggage to be put in the hold. Then we arrived at security and what a disaster that was! Literally no staff were friendly and were rather moody and forceful. When the buzzer when off I was put in the machine which I was very annoyed with and would rather have been patted down by the team. I was put in the machine three times and then only asked to remove my shoes where I had to stand on a box and a metal detector was took to me and then nothing was found to be on me so I understand why this happened to me and nobody cared to explain or apologise! On the way back oh boy this is the icing on the cake! I drove my car to the barrier with my prepaid parking ticket and put it in the machine. It told me I owed £34 even though I had already paid online, so I drove back to the pay machine and tried to work out how to validate it but it still told me it was £34. At this point another lady came over and told me the same thing was happening to her. So we used the help button and was told to go to the barrier and put our ticket in and then call the assistance to give them our reference number. So I did that and was told that I was actually booked in to leave at 11am and not 11pm. I had literally got a flight at 5am that morning so there was no way I was leaving at 11am cause I would got have flown from Edinburgh to London and then back within this time. The attendant was very unsympathic to my mistake and demanded that in order for me to leave that I would have to pay £34 on top of my £12.99 so I'm the end I paid £56.99 for 17 hours parking!!! No way in hell will I ever be coming back to Edinburgh airport and will be sticking with Glasgow from now on

The convenience of parking at the long stay and then having a drop-off at the terminal door has now gone due to the new location for the long stay bus drop off point as it's now located behind the terminal multi storey car park. The Edinburgh Airlink bus still drops off passengers at the terminal front door so it seems strange that passengers using the airport parking (sometimes at greater expense) are dropped off further from the terminal. This is now a poor service and I will probably look into flying from Glasgow now on as for me the travel distance to both airports is the same.

Although parking was easy enough due to parking in a disabled parking bay our car has still been badly damaged from what clearly looks like somebody crashing a trolley into the side of the car while walking past

On return to Edinburgh international, we left the aircraft to be transported to the arrivals gate by bus. Due to the arrival of several aircraft we were held on the bus for 40 minutes at the gate while other busses were emptied. We could see the que of people waiting to enter the UK Border control area. We eventually left the bus and joined the que, half an hour later we entered the UK border control hall, to see a very large number of people shuffling up and down the lanes, at the time only one of, I think, of 6 desks was manned by a UK Border control person. There are a number of biometric machines in the hall but these were only available to persons over 18 years old?? As most people were travelling with young children the majority of people had to join the slow shuffle conger line!! We were 2 and a half hours from leaving the plane to getting out of the airport. Car Park.. We had pre booked our parking ticket, £70, on placing the ticket in the exit gate the machine demanded a further £360, eventually someone answered the help button and after a brief interrogation lifted the gate for us to exit, almost 3 hours after leaving our aircraft. Less Than Impressed.

Check-in is archaic. Unlike Oslo Gardermoen, where you can print your own luggage labels, boarding passes and then scan and check your bag, then go through security - all done in 9 mins, Edinburgh's slow out of date experience can take 90 minutes.

When i was unable to use my parking ticket (due to the flight being delayed beyond possible use) i tried to contact Edinburgh Airport Parking. The number just rings out. I emailed - the email address on the website doesn't work. Not particularly helpful. Would have liked a credit note - no such luck - what a rip-off!

Not for the first time, in spite of having prepaid, on checking out at the barrier I was asked to pay before the barrier would raise. This time it was for £360. It is tiresome to then have to ring the attendant button, dig out my booking reference number, and provide that before being allowed out. As I said previously, this is not a one off incident, it happens often enough to be annoying. Could you please try and redress. Thanks Michael Houston

Directions given on the website were very poor and unclear. I ended up finding a long stay car park belonging to the airport and thought that I had found my destination. This was apparently not the car park I had booked into and had to pay an extra £32!! Will not be using this service again.
