“NO SAFETY TRAVELLING ON YOUR OWN WITH FAST TRACK SERVICE-I HAD TO COUGH UP ANOTHER £10.10 BECAUSE MY RETURN FLIGHT WAS DELAYED. I had forked out for the supposed Fast Track service because I was travelling on my own and I choose to park in the multi-storey at Edinburgh airport. I would have been better served parking anywhere but there. It was 2.25am, and the machine at the barrier reclined my exit parking ticket. I had to put the car hazard lights on then run around the vicinity to find a machine, cough up the extra dosh so my ticket was validated.”
“Not a good experience to be honest. I'd prepaid but you tried to charge me a further £160 when exiting. Told that the reg should have read alpha o and not numerical 0 which doesn't make sense as your system accepted the registration (and recognised the car type) when I originally paid.”
“My plane was slightly delayed and when I went to leave the barriers it said I had £15 outstanding. When I pressed the assistance button it rang for 5mins twice with nobody answering which meant I had to reverse past other cars and pay the £15. Surely as you have people's return flight number some allowance must be made for frayed flights. Feel like I've been conned”
“Spent hours trying to phone the number given on the website in order to add one day to the five we had just booked in the onsite airport parking. I needed to phone as I noticed although our return flight left Crete on the 5th it arrived at 1:00am on the 6th so we were not covered. There was not even a recorded message. After a day trying the number, I phoned the general airport number and was given again the number that does not work, they instead told to leave the problem until I arrived at the airport and approach the official parking desk and they would ammend the booking. The man at the parking desk told us to email the parking office and he was not sure what to do, really but we are already here at the parking office! So I emailed once we arrived at our holiday destination and I was told to go online and book another 24hrs. The first 5 days cost £61.99 I was then charged another £41.99 to add the extra hours! To make it worse the barrier would not let us out and tried to make us pay another £47 ! It really feels like a scam.”
“as usual when we went to leave car park we were asked to pay £180 despite parking being pre paid this happens everytime and is past of the truly awful experience of Edinburgh airport the world's worst airport”
“I would have been better off, parking in the long stay car park. At least I would not have got soaked in the rain. To say the terminal car park is only 2 minutes to the terminal is rubbish. When you have 2 heavy cases to carry it takes a lot longer ( especially in the rain). Better on the bus from long stay.”
“We arrived at 5 am on Sunday the 28th of May 2017 to find there were no Mobility spaces so we had a long walk from the car park then and when we returned yesterday the 1st of June. In my opinion there are not enough Mobility parking spaces near the Terminal Surface area where I like to park as it is close to the Terminal with just a minutes walk to get you there. I don't mind paying extra for these Mobility places but when they are all full you can have quite a long walk over to the Terminal.”
“I have just returned from a holiday to Krakow with my friend, for which we booked Edinburgh Airport's long stay carpark. Our reason for booking the long stay car park is that the fee included a complimentary bus service from the car park to the terminal, and as a disabled person who uses a wheelchair, this was an absolutely vital consideration for us.
However, on arrival at the car park we were told that they had overbooked the long stay, but not to worry; we had been "upgraded' to the mid stay car park! We thought nothing of this, and continued to park in the mid stay carpark.
On getting out of the car, and unpacking our luggage and my wheelchair, my friend and I went in search of the bus stop...but guess what? We were informed that because this car park was closer to the terminal, there was no bus!!!!
Given that my friend was taking our luggage, this meant that I was left to wheel myself in my chair all the way to the terminal!!! This may have been less of an issue for an able-bodied individual, but let me assure you it was no picnic in the rain when you are disabled! The very reason for picking the long stay car park was that it came with a bus service, which suited my needs as a wheelchair user. Had there been no bus, I would NEVER have booked to leave my car there!
I find it absolutely astonishing that someone could overbook a car park...clearly someone has no idea what they are doing! The fact they tried to portray it as an upgrade did nothing to cover up the fact that what had actually happened was a cock-up on the car park's part. It was NO upgrade whatsoever, given that if I had been in the long stay, as I had booked, and paid, to be, I would not have had to push myself in my chair all the way to the airport building!
Be warned, people! Booking a space in one of the car parks atEdinburgh airport does not guarantee you will actually get what you booked and paid for!!!!!!!!! Shocking treatment and I will not be back. I will also be telling everyone who flies from Edinburgh to be extremely careful when using your car parks. Disgraceful.”
“I parked in the premier inn car park by mistake and had to pay a fortune to get my van out!!! Should be clearly sign posted that it's NOT airport parking!!!!! I paid for a car park I didn't even use! Not what you need after a holiday!”
“Just about everything went wrong. It was not made clear that many companies operate long stay car parks at the airport and unfortunately I ended up parking in a Premier car park and had to pay the full cost having paid already”
“We approached the multi-story car park removed ticket, registration and name not displayed as would be at Glasgow, proceeded to a floor that had fastrack entrance ,so parked in that proximity not knowing if we were in fastrack parking. Appears as if anyone could park there, so we might having paid online may also be paying for normal car parking as well. So no recognition of vehicle reg and car park on a floor with blue tape on top of pillars, not a defined fastrack secure entry. So are we in fastrack or not ? ( Glasgow excellent system and confirms your presence and reg on entry ) Also define f/track entry, for vehicle.
Using passenger f/track access point, had to carry cases down staff stair access to baggage drop, not clear, had to ask staff directions.
We use F/track at Glasgow three maybe four times a year, excellent set up, Edinburgh , we left on a flight not knowing if we were in correct parking area or is it shared with general parking as it would appear.
Hope this may help you understand the obvious predicament vehicle not recognised and name not confirmed on arrival, so are we in the right area ?
May I add that this is not a complaint, only constructive criticism.
Feed back of your view would be appreciated, john McDonald.
PS I do prefer Edinburgh airport to Glasgow.
Annual air time approx. 110 hours Flying.( frequent flyer)”
