“Parked in the Long Stay Carpark. No shuttle bus currently. Direction to departure not properly signposted. Arrived in the dark at 4 am. Raining and no covered walkway.”
“Profit-driven, shabby, bays too small for real life, not enough disabled spaces near the terminal and as far as I could see, no way to reserve one that's there.
We might just get a taxi next time and save the drama.
Just waiting for the questionnaire from the actual airport now to pop the cherry on the cake.”
“All ok until I tried to exit the park. My car number plate was not recognised by the system. I had changed the plate a few weeks earlier on the system but the system can’t cope with changes the guy who helped me by intercom said.”
“The actual car park (I used the outdoor terminal car park) was ideal. My issue was with the signage to it. I was on my own and missed the entrance ending up in the drop off and having to pay £4.00 to get out. A friendly attendant said this happens a lot. She gave me good directions to the terminal parking thankfully. When I arrived back in Edinburgh the signage back to the car park was poor. I followed “arrivals” There ought to be clearer signs to say Terminal carpark.”
“Booking instructions do not say that ticket will automatically be produced.
Entering car park there were signs for 'spaces' which directed to rows K. I followed signs and parked there and was then annoyed when walking to terminal to find lots of spaces in rows much closer.
Lack of signs in car park to tell you which way to walk to the terminal and no 'walkway' as it states until you are just about at the terminal so it's a case of pulling your case over very rough ground for most of the way.
On this occasion I was lucky that it was dry weather but would have been absolutely soaked walking from Row K when I could have probably parked as close as Row C.
Unlikely to use again as think it would be better to park at a cheaper car park outwith the airport and bus in.
I am fairly familiar with EDI so would imagine the route to get to terminal is even more confusing if you have never been there before as no signs whatsoever to say 'Terminal' or 'Walkway'.”
“It was easy to find
Easy to find the walking route to airport even though it is uneven in places and can be difficult with luggage but it was OK going
No signs on way back to car park from airport
Several of us had to go long way round not easy with large cases
Probably wouldn't park here again if we were travelling with large cases”
“Parking on surface (terminal) car park very handy. It took a bit of driving around to find a space as it is usually busy. Exiting at the ticket barrier was an issue on this occasion as it said I had an outstanding amount, though it was paid in advance. Took a bit of faffing about to be directed to the push button on the ticket barrier where a member of staff could 'validate' the ticket and open the barrier.”
“I received a free upgrade to the long stay but was unsure as to how to redeem my prepaid voucher. When I arrived at the long stay I had to take a ticket from the machine to get in and wasn’t made aware of how I would exit the car park until I called for assistance at the exit barrier. If this could be put on the instructions it would have been a better experience.”
“Parking close to terminal and reasonably easy to access however very expensive and disappointing that we were charged a further £15 due to flight being delayed for 1.5 hours. When booking you are asked for flight details which I thought would mean no extra payment for delays out with our control”
“Paid extra for terminal parking as travel info myself . No spaces I drove around and around until someone left and luckily got their space right up the back of the parking area overflow . This is the 3 rd time this year the parking has been a nightmare. How can there not be spaces when you or book”
“Not easy to find a space and drove around for about 15mins before finding one which adds to the stress. Gave flight details at time of booking and due to flight delay of 3 hrs which is outwith our control we had to pay extra. With the flight situation as it stands this will happen to almost every passenger travelling. I could understand if we were deliberately late but flight delays uncontrollable and no point asking for our flight number if that is not taken into consideration.”
“Pre booked the long stay car park and was aware that the bus service had been withdrawn. In future would not book again without the bus particularly in winter.”
“Needs more directional signage for route to airport- we appeared to be in an overflow section with an extra fence in the way. Same goes leaving the terminal- we followed signs for taxi as we knew we passed that area on the way in.
Also very difficult to find a space- too many bad drivers parked on/across white lines rendered many spaces unusable, and it was a very busy car park.
Price was about right”
