“The parking itself was okay, but the spaces were extremely tight, making it difficult to get in and out of the car. What was enfuriating was being charged £180 for parking, only to find that trolleys weren't included, paying extra for one is completely unacceptable.
To make matters worse, the trolley machine wasn’t even working, so we had to carry four suitcases, with two young kids in tow. For the price paid, you’d expect a far more convenient and family friendly service.
Honestly, you'd be better off parking off site and taking a shuttle, it would be cheaper and drops you closer to the terminal.”
“Car had burst tyre when went to pick up Plus ticket wouldn’t work to let us exit the car park we had to contact service wouldn’t park in plane parking again”
“In principle this should be a good option for airport parking as you can walk to the terminal in just over 5 mins. Clearly this is fine if no rain, as only a small portion is covered (around taxi pick up). This is the first time I have used them in a long time as I prefer Secure Airparks, who provide a great service but this does require a bus to the terminal and since last Sept a short walk to the drop off /pick up bay. They also were £30 more expensive for this 2 week stay so decided to try the Long Stay Edinburgh Car Park. My main bug bear, albeit I should be covered by BA is this….if your flight is delayed more than 3 hours and especially if this means you go past midnight, you are charged at their std pricing. For 3-24 hrs this equates to £55 , more than 60% of the original amount. Secure Airparks is way more reasonable when this has happened to me on prior trips. Caveat Emptor with these guys, will not use them again for parking!”
“Not always easy to find a space and really needs a shuttle bus as it is difficult transporting heavy cases by foot. Price can be very high if you have to book near departure date. Needs more incentives/discounts for regular users.”
“Paid over £200 for parking for a week and turned up on time to collect car. Put ticket in machine and it said we had to pay £462 to get out. Tried again but same message while queue behind grew. Eventually pressed buzzer and man asked for reg no. and lifted barrier - no apology. The word sorry takes 2 seconds to say!!!”
“The drop off at the fastpark was great and the staff was helpful. However, the pick up went different. The key locker was great and easy to find but the car was parked so close to the next it was physically impossible to get in through the drivers side. You couldn’t open the door wide enough to even stick your foot in. After paying hundreds of pounds I’d expect to at least to be able to get into the car upon pick up.”
“Paid for multi storey at terminal, could not get passed second barrier kept flagging up wrong carpark, ended up parking in outside carpark, same thing when leaving car park, verifyed ticket at machine no problem, then when exiting carpark the same error came up saying I was in the wrong carpark, after speaking to some rather unpleasent employee on the intercom I finally got out.”
“Obviously had been overbooked. We had to drive round the full car park 3 times to try and find a space. Took nearly 30minutes before a space became available. Thankfully we were not in a rush otherwise could have caused major issues. Really not what you need when travelling to the airport. I book terminal parking for convenience however it would have been quicker booking elsewhere.”
“Normally you'd get 5 stars and a glowing report from me, as I use your service at fastpark each time I travel from Edinburgh. This time round my car was badly parked and I had to get in the passenger side and climb across, not ideal after getting off a tiring flight. I have the pictures to prove how the car was parked if you'd care to contact me directly.”
“The whole experience was very poor. When flying out, we arrived fairly early in the morning so the car park wasn’t too busy, but due to the frequency of the buses the whole bus filled up at stop 1 and we were unable to collect the crowds at stop 2. When we flew back there was a large queue waiting to return to the car park which would have filled at least 3 buses meaning at least an hour wait. We decided to walk down the road to the car park instead, as did several other passengers. It took around 20 minutes to walk, and in that time we did not see any bus to or from the car park. Very poor for the price, I would not recommend.”
“More signage needed to identify individual zones in the park to aid location of vehicle on return (especially at night).
Better road markings needed to signpost exit.
Contact phone number needed at return bus shelter. Special assistance numbers were available at shelter 1 on departure but that not much use on return.
There was no way of contacting Plane Parking on return shelter. One family had been waiting over 20 mins and were planning to get a taxi out to the park. An extra bus is needed at peak times if you’re going to maintain your claims of ‘buses every x minutes’.”
“Location to terminal is great but everything else is confusing and hard to find. When you arrive at departures there are mixed signs telling you where to go or no signs at all. We ended up at the opposite side of the airport and had to ask directions back to where we needed to be.”
“Bus took far to long, waited 25mins, and there were people waiting who had been standing waiting a lot longer. I will avoid using this parking again if possible.”
“Booked long stay (as we always do travelling regularly every few weeks) for the disabled bays. However none were available and many of the cars didn’t have displayed blue badges. Very disappointing if this isn’t being enforced. At £30 for one night expected better.”
“I normally use the plane parking service. I used to find it convenient if not ideal. The shuttle service used to run every 10 minutes max, so it was easy to get to or eave the airport. However, now there's only one shuttle running and the wait time has increased to 20 minutes. That's how long we have waited the last two times we flew from Edinburgh. Not worth it anymore.”
“Our plane was delayed. We arrived 2 hours later than expected. Had to pay £200 to exit the multi storey when the original cost of parking was only £75. Excessive and unfair charge. Have emailed and no response.”
“Exiting this carpark is a nightmare. We collected the car and sat in line to leave. We were told to take a ticket to raise the barrier. This didn’t happen, the machine asked for £7 and then swallowed our ticket. We had to press for assistance to get out of the carpark. After paying over £100 for a week’s stay, this was really disappointing.”
