“Third time I have used Edinburgh airport parking and the third time my registration number has not been recognised at checkout.
Do the management not realise that when you advise that you can exit the parking facility by simply inserting the inward ticket and the barrier will open, most people would not have their booking confirmation documentation to hand, but in their briefcase or suitcase in the boot of the car.
Best thing about your parking facility is the ability to use the fast track, apart from that your system is below acceptable.”
“We have been using the Long Stay car park at Edinburgh for many years. The number plate recognition system used to work perfectly, allowing an easy exit after pre booking your parking. But for the last two visits in a row, we have been unable to exit the car park, with the machine saying our ticket was invalid. It can take a while to get through on the intercom, and all the time you're stuck at the barrier with irate drivers behind you. It's stressful and would make us think twice about parking here again. The car park owners need to sort this out quickly, as we were not the only cars affected. It's a shame, as all other facilities at this car park are very good.”
“Booked and paid parking online, upon collection of vehicle and trying to leave the car park I was asked to pay £470! Pressed the help button and explained I booked and paid online, they looked up my booking and allowed me to exit. What happened, why was I expected to pay £470? Think the system needs looked at.”
“the long stay car park desperately needs an upgrade in terms of the bay markings, surfacing. I think the airport have simply become too greedy and are trying to make as much profit as possible at the expense of customer satisfaction and choice. The addition of 'mid-stay' and 'plane parking' are good examples of how the airport find ways of charging people more for a 'better' service - 20% more so that you are a couple of minutes closer to the airport than the long stay. The car park is a reflection of the state of the airport in general.”
“Arriving at 05 00 found the signage difficult to follow and confusing. We were booked for the multi-storey car park, found it eventually. Once found the parking was efficient and straightforward. We stayed for nine days during which time our battery went flat. We sought help from the car park staff, a very helpful person attended almost immediately and got us started for which we were very grateful. Exit was straightforward.”
“Since dividing up the car park, I have found that finding a parking space has become very difficult. There are always more cars parked in non-parking spaces, obviously due to lack of spaces at peak times. This was never an issue prior to dividing the car park. I think the division should be revisited, as the current setup is definitely not an improvement. Thanks”
“The terminal facilities and arrangements are an acceptable average for a busy international airport playing 'catch up' with a rapidly increasing passenger throughput. The undercover fast track advance booking terminal parking worked faultlessly as advertised. Be even better if the charges were further discounted.”
“The instructions on the receipt were very clear and the process worked really well. The signage to the car park was clear. The only downside is the walk from the carpark to / from the terminal. At night time it isn't very clear where the path goes and there are some areas where it is quite dark near the portacabins and the entrance to the carpark from the walkway isn't very clear.”
“Normally very efficient and well priced but last visit unsatisfactory. Number plate not recognised on entry to Terminal Surface car park. Had to find office after late flight to validate ticket at office before exit. Other customers waiting with same problem. No apologies given.”
“Good carpark with reasonably sized spaces but why is it that every second visit, the exit is marred by a bill for hundreds of pounds because the system does not seem to be inormed that I have booked and paid for the parking?”

“I thought the directions to find the actual car park were good. On entering however I found it very busy and ended up a long way from the access to the terminal. The location however is excellent and much easier than being "bussed in."
Returning from our holiday, we located the car easily, but exiting through the barriers took longer that expected and then access to the M8 was very difficult. I am a frequent user of the airport and have never known it as busy. Anyway I am just about to make another booking and intend to do so with yourselves, so will see what happens this time!!”
“I was unable to get a hot breakfast on a Saturday morning as restaurants were too busy the queues in WHSmith were ridiculous but otherwise it was fine. Parking was fine but getting out of the car park was terrible queued for 20 mins in Saturday lunchtime.”
“Just a bit confusing. Came back at 2.30 am with a 2 hour drive in front of us and the machine said we owed £265. Got help by pushing the button but so much for ANPR”
“Bus service was good but the terminal drop-off point is too far from the terminal. It should be outside the terminal entrance like many of the main bus services.”
“The parking was great and so was the bus. The only thing was wen we put the ticket in the machine it was saying I had to pay £140. I had already paid. This was at 12 at night.”
“I pre-paid for my parking online for £56 but when I went to leave the machine said I had an outstanding balance of £360, I hit the assistance button and after a while a chap answer and let me out after checking that I had paid already.”
